  1. Thanks for that link OJ ;) Some great stuff there.
  2. I have noticed a frame hit here too, and the tgp is very hard to use (a10c) due to the slightly higher noise setting. The textures are really good though ;)
  3. G, you need to go up to where it says 'user cp' at the top on this forum, then look for the line on the left side, edit signature.. add in what you want & save. Job done ;)
  4. Nice pit man ;) I used this app on my old pc, and it killed my frame rate. I have not used since i upgraded and have a second screen for my mfds just like you, but use extraction via lua file. Have you noticed any hit on the frames with ultramfd? I might give it a go again & see..
  5. Hehe no worries, around an hour or so is fine, I have 2 young daughters and with both of us working, I usually get an hour here & there so not a lot through the week, but it's enough to keep me going ;)
  6. Well Gaz, you have the training campaigns, start ups & shutdowns are merciless in those! I failed so many times due to leaving pitot heat on, or forgetting to turn off an mfd. The pause when the instructor is 'checking your shut down procedure' feels like eternity ;) I have not played any campaigns as yet, so I have them all to look forward to, after I get through advanced training I may begin one ;) Can I ask what is the average mission time in a campaign? I only get a few hours of flight a week so it can be slow going.
  7. I think the f-16 rolls on idle too, but they have a parking brake ;)
  8. Hi folks, recently I have noticed that the a10 cockpit flood lights are turning on by itself, when I check the rotary on the lower right console, it's all the way full. If I turn it back and let go, it turns back full again. It's getting a bit irritating to be honest. Anyone seen anything like this?
  9. Thanks I will check out mudspike. The training ops are different yes, I did struggle initially with the basic training, because I really just was training using the dcs default missions, and these are much more detailed. I have not as yet tried any combat campaigns, but the ones you mentioned are on my list once I complete advanced training and maybe tactical too ;)
  10. Yes I think im seeing this on a-a refuelling, mission 2, advanced training. When trying to land, I get the runway occupied thing. After 3 missed approaches, I got down low and could see a c-130 at the end of the runway, and 4 f-16's parked behind, sitting there. Had to abort in the end. *edit* The c-130 is there at the start of the mission, and seems to have ran something else off the end of the runway as there is a charred heap of something in the grass lol.
  11. Ok, what I did was check out recon stewarts videos on youtube, he did the whole thing, and has a lot of tips and extras for getting through this campaign. As for hard deck restrictions etc, the instructor lets you know during the flight so listen to him ;) *ps* another a10c pilot on youtube that had great tips for passing some of the tricky ones was 'jetpilot' hes a real civil pilot with a lot of hours so his insight was very helpful..
  12. No they are there surely, they are not in the normal list as some folks didn't like having to complete the training op first, then the real test after. Yes, I'm on mission 2 a-a re fuelling at night & bad weather. I have run the practice mission twice then have taken 2 stabs at the real one, failed twice cue to my own silly mistakes (breaking the hard deck) etc you need to navigate to: Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\campaigns\A-10C AAT using the file explorer inside the dcs program.
  13. Yes, basic training first, then advanced. I'm on mission 2 advanced training after completing basic. Gaz, check sabre's post about a few known bugs in the basic training dlc that can catch you out, on the whole it's great and I learned a lot, there are a lot of ramp starts, and by the end you will know it off by heart ;) The practice missions are part of the basic training line up, but not the advanced. The advanced practice missions are in your docs folder by default I think. BTW, if you do try to do the basic training, try the interactive start up & shut down missions, they are very good at teaching ramp starts etc. Also located in the doc folder think..
  14. The tactical training will return though ? I have completed basic, now doing advanced.
  15. This is covered (and more) in the basic training dlc from maple flag, mission 10 I believe. I had to play this one a few times to pass it, but I did learn a fair bit about waypoints and how they work in the cdu..
  16. The basic training dlc is an excellent way of learning the a10c startup & shutdown and simple stuff etc. But I can understand if you don't want to add to expense if your not 100% commited to it.
  17. One thing that I have found frustrating about the a10c module, is that it's very difficult to spot ground targets, a lot of the mission time is spent loitering at altitude, trying to locate targets using the tgp. In the end I had to resort to using modified labels, just to help me locate things and help my SA, I was getting nowhere otherwise :(
  18. Thanks I will make sure those are saved. Also, do I need to de-activate the a10c module? I take it that the dlc's are saved to your profile, and when you log back in, they will download and setup as usual?
  19. Hi all, im going to change os to windows 10 on my new machine, just wondering what files I need to save in dcs? Im on mission 9 of the basic training campaign and would like to save my progress and log book. Thanks for any help. MT
  20. Still struggling with this myself. Tried a lot of stuff, had to resort to custom minimal labels to see anything. Missions for me meant endless circling around looking for targets. Honestly starting to question whether it's worth pressing on with this, I really like Dcs and the a10, but missions frustrate the life out of me
  21. Hi, anyone have any clue as to how to enable the two rotaries on the base of the x55 throttle? The ones on the throttle itself work fine, and I use them for zoom etc, no luck with the ones on the base, how do I set up the programing so dcs sees them and I can assign in game for maybe flood lighting or something.. MT
  22. Sorted, I installed facetrack v2.0, and added the plugins, worked first time ;)
  23. Thank, I have checked the dummy trackir, and selected the use trackir and hide freetrack but still nothing. I will try removing the dll and check out the new update thanks ;)
  24. Hi all, just reinstalled after full upgrade, got all controls etc working fine but not my head tracking. I use face track noir, 1.7 with ps3 camera and delan clip. Worked fine before? I have found the head tracking .dll and put those files into the /bin folder but still no joy. App is working ok in windows.Any ideas? A10c (DCSV.1.5.6) on steam Win7, 64bit :helpsmilie:
  25. Great app, but im having difficulty reading converted pdf's. what is the optimum size for the kneeboard? The original files seem ok, my converted check lists seem squashed somewhat. Thanks for any help
