Hi all, just started operation piercing fury campaign, and it's excellent. One thing i have always seemed to struggle with is my situational awareness. Once things get busy, and i'm getting radio calls for x no of trucks leaving camp xy to the north east i'm a bit lost really. I can pilot the aircraft without issue for the most part ;) employing weapons are no issue etc i just cant seem to understand my position relative to the enemy, and this can be really frustrating. If i'm really fed up, i'll click on labels to help me and of course that makes it really easy to finish the mission but i don't want to do that. What am i missing, how do you guys keep SA? Tad? HSI? tgp? any advice on how to manage SA better would be welcome.

I cant understand what the issue with the hud is? It's clear and no problem to use for me, and always has been?? Also looking forward to an update, i'd like to see some up to date skins and models, pave penny removed etc

The in game mfcd's are alot brighter for sure, i export mine to a second screen and they look fine, lucky enough to be honest, in some cases the cockpit ones are really hard to see.

This comes down to the limited menu/radio system in dcs. There are some options you don't have, fence in, fuel state etc

Agreed, i routinely take 2 or 4. The rivet counters on here hate you taking 6 though :D

You can load whatever you want in the pre mission loadout, you don't always have to take what your given most of the time.. ;)

Thanks i will have another look tonight perhaps, it's not really an issue at the moment as i don't fly the hornet currently, i want to finish my a10c campaign before i try it out properly. Just thought i would try the edit and see if it worked.

Thanks I tried it but it's not really working for me. I export my a10 mfds without issue so I used the same monitor file and just did the edit. I get a faint garbled ddi on the right, but the left is blank? It maybe due to my specific second screen, resolution etc

Just had a campaign flight and confirm, flood lights working nicely now, no screens soz ;)

I bought the WH as i wanted to commit to the A10c module, and don't regret that, it's much easier to learn when the controls match the real thing.

Same, i filed mine down, took a while testing while doing that to make sure i didn't take off too much but i'm happy with how it works now. Just hope the OP didn't order the wrong part..

Mower, how do you find the hornet so far? I know you were really looking forward to it..

This part adds a center detent, i dont think thats what you need?

The only real issue I have with the enemy within are the voice overs, they are not that great and some just don't fit in at all, ie English and Scottish pilots, sound a bit odd flying a-10s and breaks the immersion for me slightly, but I'm being fussy here, it's an excellent campaign overall ;)

Did the training campaigns too, and I learned a lot, but they can be incredibly frustrating! I completed red flag, it was ok. I found it really repetitive, and pretty easy to be honest. I'm working my way through the enemy within now, on mission 14. Enjoying it so far, quite challenging and I have found myself overloaded with radio calls, looking for targets etc all while continuing the mission. After this I will most likely try piercing fury and see how that goes.

Hmm, thats odd. I don't have that issue with mine, when i reduce to mil it doesn't take 7 seconds for the AB to cut for sure, maybe 2, 3 at the most? I have WH hotas too. Not at my pc so cant be 100% sure but i don't remember noticing any delay.

Yes you can export them using a config file, i use it for my a10c mfcd's + TM f16 mfds. As for the hornet, the export is not available in early access apparently.. if thats what your looking for?

Hi all. I use a custom monitor file for the export of mfcd's while flying the a10c. In the '18, i get no displays at all using the same settings, nothing on my 2nd monitor and nothing in the sim cockpit, the ddi's are blank. I take it i cant export the ddi's to the second screen yet?

Thats what i want to achieve, pull the throttles up off the back stop into idle, and spool up the engines, like the WH. I dont want to have to faff about with finger lift keys etc if i can avoid it..

I use an external screen for the mfd's, and they look a lot better than the ones in the cockpit right now, it's hard to see anything on them, they are much brighter in the cockpit than the exported ones, odd.

I'd imagine it has to do with having a flat glass panel upfront, with the canopy curve. So perhaps needed more time to get the water drops moving right, just guessing.

Folks, i have this issue with dcs a10c. Sometimes i loose the airspeed on the HUD, straight out of the blue. It goes down to 50, and i have no idea why or what i may be doing to cause this. I have had this occur a few times, seemingly completely random. It happened last night towards the end of a flight as i was nearing the airfield. Anyone seen this issue or know what I'm doing to cause this?

I think the airbase lighting is due for a fix soon, there are issues with the player plane being completely black and not casting any shadows when all around is lit by flood lights, in general the shading model is excellent, but it's an on going process to fix all these little cosmetic problems.
