  1. I have tried Mi-24P on most maps so far, and currently, I get mixed results with getting the ARK-U2 ADF to track any of the outer and inner beacons on the map. I double checked that they are in the kHz-range, and that I had the right of the two selected. Doing a cold startup, it works on Syria and Persian Gulf, but in Caucasus, not all airports yield good results. I tried the following aerodromes: Kobuleti (didn´t work), Batumi (didn´t work), Sukhumi-Babushara (worked). I believe I did a couple more, but cannot remember if they worked or not. I could provide a TRK., but not sure if there is any point? It´s bascially spawn in air and try the frequencies.
  2. It would be really nice if the following would be added at the discretion of the pilot (special options): - Make the opacity adjustable, having it 100% visible obstructs a part of the view. - Make the size adjustable, currently, in VR especially, it takes up quite a big spot in the center of the screen. Way too big for my taste. - Give the ability to chose elements displayed (bearing, elevation, etc...). Right now it looks like a helmet from F-18/F-16. It's too informative. I would have an indirect request for the autonomy of Petrovitch (it's not worth it's own thread). Currently, you can give him commands as to arming of the weapons, and looking at a specific point. What I am missing, is the option to tell Petrovitch not to focus on the ground, but rather to have him keep the sight at bore, and ready to engage. Right now, pop-up attacks take longer time than they could and should. Whereas IRL, the operator could have his sight ready and bore, only waiting to either spot, or receive info on where to look and engage. Otherwise, splendid work ED, you really outdid yourself!
  3. One way of implementing is by removing the map behind the moving doppler map and fitting the GPS in that space, there are many videos of such solutions being used IRL. Another way is simply placing the GPS somewhere on top of the dashboard, partly obstructing view, but at the cost of GPS navigation. Everything comes at a price. This would be especially nice if both cockpits could have such a GPS-system. I might as well say, from the perspective of someone who exclusively flies in VR that a 3D model is infinitely better than a 2D pancake. I have never used the 2D GPS in DCS, however the 3D models in Mi8MTV2 and L-39C/ZA have been used in some more modern scenarios and are superb. I really hope that they revaluate this, as the 3D model already exists, it's "only" a matter of putting it in the cockpit. This would be absolutely amazing!
  4. There are obviously quite a few key bindings missing, and understandable so, considering that it's early access. Nevertheless, it would be nice to see key bindings added for PZU (dust protection filters) as well as for the rotary knobs for adjusting position on the moving doppler map.
  5. I cannot seem to find the bug report where this was reported, so feel free to merge this with that thread if you find it. The rear left landing gear door does not fully close when the landing gear is out, that's to say it is sticking out about 2-3 cm from the body. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XGp2d3Fia4pElpNt4nOtd4Lbr48q8fum/view?usp=sharing Here is a track, pretty big, but look for my hind specifically, the second and third time when I land after performing a mission. You can clearly see the bug, looking from rear right of the hind.
  6. Because of the differences between "game" and "simulation" modes of DCS. - "Communication" is a "game" keybinding which will only work if the mission/server has "easy communications" enabled. - "Mic switch" is a "simulation" keybinding which will work in all cases, both in missions/servers with "easy communications" on and off. Also, it's resolved differently in all the aircraft, depending on the type and how it actually works in that given module. There's nothing to argue against here. It's two different keybidings that are explained well in the manual.
  7. Спасибо! Мы думали, товарищ нашел баги.
  8. каково было решение? У кого-то на западе есть проблемы...
  9. For sure not, I do dual runs as well, no problem there.
  10. I tried selecting empty rack when Mi-24P first came out, but there was a bug where nothing would be loaded. I’ll check again, but to me, it seemed like an alpha left-over.
  11. I am away from home today, back tomorrow, will take a look at it then fargo007. I can for sure confirm that it has nothing to do with the level fight vs lining up the reticle. I typically do the lineup, but have also done level within the outer-boundary of the reticle (low level attack with heavy obstacle and fire evasion), and have had equally good results. One thing I wonder about though, are your hot starts. Maybe that’s where the issue lies? I only do cold-starts and never had this issue. Adamiki, what do you do?
  12. It’s not so much a monkey, once in a while, with a precise and steady flight, he might miss, case being if you fire close to maximum range. I wondering if that isn’t just due to the statistical hit-miss ratio of the missile, meaning that it’s a faulty one. Otherwise he always hits, and I’ve even tested it off boresight (gradual turn after firing to 50-60 deg. off board. It works perfect. But again, it could be that either there is an issue that is present only for some users, or it’s being provoked by mods. Guys, make sure that you are within range. If you fire from outside it, the missile will land close to the target, but still miss. That way it will look like the missile missile missed because of Petrovich, but in reality because of the missile running out of kinetic energy. @fargo007 It’s definately not good that you are running mods, users have had issues before with completely unrelated subjects. As any ED-representative would say, uninstall the mods and see if it works then. Again, I have no issue on my side, and I know for a fact that mods can cause weird bugs. Not saying that is the case here, but you never know. (For reference, I was flying yesterday on VK1 and another Russian server, shot in total around 25 missiles, maybe even close to 30, not one miss.)
  13. Just out of curiousity, how do you see him missing? MKI eyeball? Trk.? Tacview?
  14. Throw away the conception that Yefim Gordon’s books are factually correct. I thought too that they were back in the day, but when you start comparing facts, specs and pilot memoairs, you notice that he does make mistakes in his books. You will never get a book 100% factually correct, never, however the mistakes that he has made are in some cases pretty severe. Therefore, he is not considered as anything reliable to go by. Can for example an Mi-24 make a barrel roll? For sure, there are heavier utility helicopters that have done that before, and wings do not really prevent it from doing it. Take a look at this: https://youtu.be/MQ7pVjQ5Y5g H-53 is a cow compared to a Hind. The reason you don’t see Hinds doing this on airshows, and few helicopters in general doing it, is because of levels of stress on the airframe. Read $$$ - Someone has to pay, and it ain’t the military with their deep pockets and unrestricted “black” programs. In Afganistan, the MIL-technicians that first got there in the beginning of the war for inspection, were surprised to see flight recorder-values that were 2-, sometimes 3-times higher than what the manual permitted (speed, pitch, roll, bank, etc…). That was what often what had to be done in order to escape ground fire. We will never know what was done IRL, only the pilots, technicians and soldiers know what happened.
  15. I’m not having any issues with this either in SP or MP. There could be a bug with it. As said, post a trk., let ED look at it. There are some other minor issues with Petrovich, and even those reported are not occurring for everyone.
  16. I was wondering if there is any chance to add empty mounting brackets for shturm as an option, that is without any rockets on them? I would really prefer that in some situations to completely empty pylons.
  17. I have no problem on my end, I keep it steady precisely on the target, and he hits. Remember that due to the way he is simulated (like a human), he will seldomly miss (I mean seldom, not 3/8), but in general, he hits. I’d guess 97-98% accuracy. Post a video or track of your assault. I’ll check it out.
  18. This update fixed most of the issues, and for me, all of the ones regarding the trimming and flight model (FFB). Even the engines, with their temperatures and spin-up speeds seem to have improved as well. The Mi-24 is just as pleasant to fly as Ka50. Just a fantastic machine, I expected no less. It’s a cruiser helicopter, really incredible how much those fixes improved the flight experience. Of course correct Shturm weight (they were too heavy) did it’s own as well. In general, I am having fantastic flying qualities with a super stable and predictable flight envelope after this patch. The pitching-yoyoing around 5% nose-down and -up pitch, seems to be fixed as well. This is a really good update!
  19. Got a track file, not sure when the track starts, but check my Mi-24P (-=BFU=- zerO). I try to change the amount of gun ammo, but it always remains at 100% (and I hear get to rearm and refuel other weapons). EDIT: For some reason, the link to the file didn’t post, I’ll upload the track-file tomorrow.
  20. I am not at home right now, so cannot provide any track atm., but I have the same issue, and it has been reported before. Surprised that you cannot reproduce it BN, as this is 100% reproducable with just opening the editor, placing the Mi-24P on the ground (cold start) and trying the mission. I’m am talking about the right landing gear hatch. As to the auto-start, I don’t know, don’t use it.
  21. It’s impossible to load less cannon rounds than 100%. I tried both rearming before and after starting up the Mi-24P. Really simple bug.
  22. I am missing radio channel frequency presets and standard pages of each airport (critical). It cannot be hard to implement, yet it’s very much demanded for successful flight operation. Thx!
  23. The Mi-8MTV2 used to have a kneeboard-page showing what the frequencies were preset for each of its radioes and channels. That is now missing. Please re-implement that. Right now, you cannot communicate with airports or FARPs and have to guess with channels and frequency. Thx!

  24. But constant rotor speed and engine trim for adjusting engine RPM, is not mutually exclusive per se. I find it kind if weird, as this system of trimming the engine gives you many possibilities, some of which are better top speed and more economic flight. Kind of surprised the AH-64 doesn´t have it then. Does the FADEC lower the engine RPM when reaching higher speeds or so? Or is there any electronic or digital setting for adjusting that in AH-64?
