Hi All Can't believe I have actually achieved landing the Harrier on a carrier. So I set up a flight with some AI and gave them the same waypoints as myself and the last waypoint to land. After I landed, I got out of my plane to watch them land only to see them come in and hover to the right and crash into the sea and explode. Should I have had a single group for each AI or given each AI in the group their own waypoints? Or, is it something else? Hope I have explained myself OK. :helpsmilie: Cheers

Looking forward to seeing this if it ever gets implemented. Immersion scale + +

Better variety of clouds and weather..
tmansteve replied to RaceFuel85's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Just came across this post as I was about to start a new thread regarding cloud formations. On a flight this week, I couldn't help thinking about this subject in dcs. The formations as we climbed to our cruising height was awesome. So many layers and builds of clouds. I hope that we do get the opportunity to see this in dcs and also the option for lower versions for those who can't get the fps. This will certainly make the immersion considerably more intense. Can I get AI to fly a set of waypoints continuoously??
tmansteve replied to tmansteve's topic in Mission Editor
A101Ways, tried that out and it worked which was great. Only problem I have is getting them to follow the waypoints more accurately, flyovers etc, but that's something I can work on. Cheers -

Can I get AI to fly a set of waypoints continuoously??

Thanks for the info. I will give this a go tomorrow. Hope it works as this will be great for videos. Cheers -
Is it possible to get AI to fly the set waypoints continuously until they run out of fuel and have to land? Or, do I have to use the Aerobatics Add columb in mission editor? I want to fly in formation doing fly overs of the air strip with the AI as lead so that I can get really close. I know about the Orbit Task but can't see how that would work for me. Cheers

The most stand out sound I have noticed is the airbrake. Not sure about it but will check it on other mods just in case I have a conflict with other sounds. Apart from that, I am happy.

OK, cheers for that. I usually disable everything just in case as I knew you could get errors from the main install. Might stick to my guns at least I feel safe. I use JSGME so it makes life easier as well. Cheers Guys

As we progress with this great sim, I have a quick question. When updating dcs, do we have to disable all mods etc in the Saved Games folder as we would with the Root installation? I always disabled everything in both just in case of overwriting. Cheers

Is there a mod for the runway lights?
tmansteve replied to Larkis's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Hey Larkis I know what you mean. I find it very hard to spot. I think I read somewhere in the forum that the lighting is set accordingly as in the Caucasus, they were limited to electricity being available as in real life. Not sure if I am confusing myself here ha ha. I think that is why. Have a search around and maybe you might find it. -
The map itself is very good but everytime i try a night flight, on approach, i have to get right on top of it before i see the runway lights. These guys don't have a power problem so there is no need for energy saving surely? I think the night environment still needs looking at. Are there any adjustments that we can make? Cheers
-
Always keep a previous version just in case. So far, never needed it. Might try to do some adjustments for distance if I can. Cheers
-
Wow, just watched the latest video with V5 and just blown away. Only comment I would make is the distant sound needs to be more but thats my opinion. For me, this is a triumph. Well done Hubson. Cheers

I understand bignewy, its still a carrier and I had placed the SU33 on USA side. I will be testing all carriers I have and see what happens

Many thanks for link bud Cheers

Exploding on Stennis Every time I land on the Stennis, folded wings and start to taxi to parking, I get so far and then explode. Is there some bug with the SU-33 or is it DCS? Using latest stable release Cheers
-
OK Razo+r. I will check that out. Many thanks

I would like to know if it is possible to use the mouse to get measurements or headings while using F10 map during missions, just like you can when in ME? Sometimes a wingman goes missing in action and would like to be able to give a distance to them to either catch up or a heading to take. Cheers

I agree that the sound is pretty good on the ground, but all I get is a weak whine on flyby. I will be trying to find the real sounds again and doing some work myself. This way I can get things the way I like them. Its more a personal thing than anything else.
-
Ok, thanks for that. I notice that she still explodes on carrier landings. Will this get resolved?

I have to say that most of the sound in dcs is pretty good and there seems to be a lot of points taken and worked on when possible. For me, there is only one module that has disappointed me and that's the AV8 Harrier. I have experienced many a flyby at low altitude over my home and not once did they have that awful whine sound. It was a fantastic roar. Yes, when spooling up and down. I have tried to contact Razbam about this and asked if they could tell me the sound files I need to edit but it has fallen on deaf ears. I have tried sound mods but with no real change as such. If anyone knows the files, please let me know and I will do my best to rectify them.

I decided to go back to the standard Comms Menu in Sim and use Voice Attack for a few number choices. Created mission for A4E to start on Ramp Hot. When I selected ATC, there was no options ie to Request Taxi etc. Any reason for this? Cheers Steve

VSN flyable aircraft mods
tmansteve replied to razo+r's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Hey Tuniorez You really need FC3 to make things work properly. Without that, you will have problems. Cheers
