  1. Could you show a screenshot of the missing panel?
  2. Very odd, I do not have this problem(TrackIR 3 Pro), but I've noticed that the TIR overrides the zoom if I assign it to the joystick. No idea what is causing it for you though but I would look in that direction.
  3. The lights are not always a guarantee I've noticed. Recently I had a 'harsh' landing, didn't seem to bad on approach but the touchdown was not as how I wished it was. I had 3 greens and figured I could do another round in the circuit. After take-off the gears refused to retract. I still had pneumatic pressure.
  4. Jockey, you might like chuck's guide as a quick reference, I use it all time: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=143397
  5. I just finished setting up my X-52 with 1.5 last night and the weapons release for the Mig-21Bis was indeed empty. This was by default though. I suppose it is worth going over the keybindings.
  6. Do you have mirrors turned on? They are killing in 1.5 performance wise for me. Do you have the same lag problems in 1.2?
  7. I am out of idea's then, I would guess it's a 1.5 bug since for me the external view works like a charm.
  8. Do you have the zoom bound to a axis on a joystick? If this axis is set in zoom in mode then it will do that as well in the external view. You could check the axis or the KA-50(sim/game) and see if anything controller is bound to the zoom. Also, are you using DCS 1.2 or 1.5 Beta?
  9. I've done some searching to see if the Mig-21 has a artificial feel system installed(like found on the F-5) all I have found so far is that only the aileron system has this. If so then that means that no, you would feel no change in the elevator pressure.
  10. Calm down, and check the radio menu. You need to ask the ground crew to install the night vision on your helmet, this will remove the HMS function.
  11. That does sound like an actual bug. Note that for precise navigation the ADF is not really suited, it has a bearing uncertainty of 1.5 degree and a maximum rotation speed of 30 degree per second.
  12. Possibly in the LUA file that also allows you to center the HMS on the middle of the screen. I can try and replicate your error tonight and see if I can fix it.
  13. I still do have contour lines, sort of. Also, I've found that turning of the population places in the MENU>SETUP>CHART list removes the cloud of blue names. When you turn of the TEXT option it doesn't work. See attached screenshots. When I zoom in further I first get only contour lines on the light blue background. after that I have the blue background only. I think they are changing the ABRIS to work with different maps(NTTR, Straight of Hormuz) and are using a adaption of the F10 map view.
  14. Check the collective section, I think you are looking for Engage/Disengage Route Mode ®.

    APU

I would hazard to guess that the heaters draw a relatively small current that doesn't inflict much of a penalty on the batteries. Very interesting thread so far, been learning a lot about the 21' systems. Coolhand, it seems that some of the Dash-8 series have a APU installed and it's an optional package. Some airliners actually removed them(I take it for reduced maintenance ops).
  16. The R-13M is nice against bombers though, doesn't always make it a one shot still.
  17. Ah, that explains a lot Darkwolf!
  18. I've raced with F-15's on the aerobatics server and I can assure you that they are quite a bit faster on the acceleration.
  19. Bidartarra, get the replay file and record it! ;) My 21 goals are on hold as I am enjoying the SU-25A so much currently.
  20. Hold down the trim button as you find a new position, this will override the AP inputs and allow you to smoothly change direction without having to combat the 20%' input of the AP. If you press the blue FD button it means actually FD Override, which disable's the AP's control. It will still smooth the inputs on the selected channels. This is the best article I've found that describes the sharks autopilots functions. http://www.simhq.com/_air13/air_429a.html
  21. Very nice! You've won a turn fight with a F-15C! Interesting to see how you brake and throttle as well, besides you really do know the terrain, at some points I would have rolled inverted earlier then you did to only realize it would have put you in a bad spot to avoid the ground!
  22. I got SOO close today to taking down a F-15C! He flew up high, contrailing, heading to my base. Locked him a bit too early as I was afterburning up to his altitude. At this point he dived and I lost contact. He didn't pop up on my RWR anymore though. No idea where he went.
  23. Well, I suppose I did my first successful sortie last night, flew for a good hour and a bit, attempted to find some A-10C's roaming about, only had a sort pop up on my scope before I got locked and had to hightail it, couldn't find the agressor anymore and flew a bit circle hoping to come up behind the enemy. Unfortunately I only got pinged by some SAM site that couldn't hit me anyway. I've been doing some intercepting training in the meantime and I've been wondering, is it advisable to use the airbrakes in a dogfight?
  24. What are you looking for, angular momentum, time to make a 180/360 turn, or IAS during a turn? The specific handling of a aircraft is usually visualized in diagrams with specific value's.
