  1. For Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 you need to tick Swap Axis option, and there will be no problem. The same option should be ticked for all modules/aircraft. BTW, if I remember correctly, I had to do that for all simulators I have.
  2. IFF was never implemented. When you hover with your cursor over that swicth, cockpit tip says it's not operational. Some other switches/functions also. The same goes for other clickable modules.
  3. This is a guess, but I believe it is the same issue as with other TV guided weapons and Shkval. In low visibility and/or low contrast environment it cannot determine an object, and therefore you don't get a launch authorization. Consequently, KAB-500Kr misses. Didn't use it recently, but before it was (almost) a no-miss weapon. To determine whether it is a bug or not, try to use them in broad daylight on tanks in open field. This image is maybe from year ago. You can see a pretty wide launch zone at this altitude. It provides you with nice standoff, also. The lower you are, the smaller release window you have.
  4. Look at the first paragraph in the first post. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=94274 Make a backup of a track. Also, there is a great chance that replay wouldn't be played well if it's a long track. You may see yourself shooting at air, crashing in middle of your flight or other planes flying sideways.
  5. Well, I cannot agree more that control setup system should be revised. Clearing duplicated controls for other controllers and assigning new ones is an especially tedious task. Backup and transfer can also be tricky - and produce problems if some new control was added. Further, specific possible issues I would like to be resolved: 1. Purpose of General controls - Why not make them automatically implemented to all modules and at the same time remove them from specific modules? Currently, it doesn't seem to work like that. 2. Unified module control action logic - In Mi-8, for instance, right click moves the switch lever to the right if it's horizontal, or up if it's vertical. In MiG-21 it is opposite in most cases. Should also be applied to rotating knobs. We've been hearing about precision and faithfulness of FM, 3D models, etc. that ED requires from 3D party developers. I believe this part should be covered also. 3. Some commands are missing from the command list, although they are implemented in-game. The first module which comes to my mind is Combined Arms which has several of those. 4. And finally a real problem that I encountered yesterday - I had cleared Screenshot key assignment from all modules, including General. Restarted the game, rechecked, everything is clear. And then, online, when I pressed PrtScr key, as a part of a key-combination I'm using for 3rd party screenshot tool, each and every time DCS also made a screenshot. Rechecked multiple times, all is clear. Like Screenshot - PrtScr connection is hardcoded in game. And I end up with two screenshots instead of one. And each time, online, because of default screenshot, my game hiccups.
  6. When you disappear from F10 view, game counts that as aircraft lost. Consequently, it counts as if you were killed when online, and credits attacker with an AA kill. Offline, if rule calls for your landing to consider mission a success, your attempt would be counted as a fail and you will have to fly the same mission again.
  7. Well, a completely loose joystick is very tricky to use. With Sidewinder FFB2 you can let go of it and the stick will become completely loose. Sensor which detects player's hand is at front of a grip. In most cases, with minor deflection, it will stay put. However, if you are looking for realistic stick feel, I would recommend editing FF effect files or (easier) using either 32 or 64-bit version of this nice little software: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1628706&postcount=43 https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/21608-Microsoft-Sidewinder-Force-Feedback-2?p=1330641&viewfull=1#post1330641 It's not installed, just download it and run it. You can adjust centering, friction and damper force there. Also, you can select a joystick button in the drop-down list on the right side which actually works as a helicopter trim - by pressing it, the stick assumes new neutral position. It is very small and useful for realism seekers. Recommendations and notes: - SimFFB memorizes your last settings; - Unfortunately, this software cannot work together with in-game force feedback - it's either in-game force feedback or this customized stick feel; - Force feedback should be turned off in game; - You can start multiple instances of this software, but the moment the second instance of it starts, you lose all effects - only one SimFFB should be running; - It is possible that occasionally SimFFB would stop working, just minimize the game, close it and start it again, it will continue working properly in game; - It is not affected by old MS SW FFB2 flaw - losing force feedback on Alt+Tab.
  8. I was wondering about the same thing. See it there, but nobody speaks about it. To be honest, if nothing more, the end result effectiveness of an IR jammer is modeled in Su-25T. Even wild-guess approximation of its effect on IR missiles would be nice to have for Mi-8.
  9. Probable solution for your troubles: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php...44&postcount=4 If I remember correctly, trim used to work fine with axis curves. It definitely doesn't now. Set Axis curvature to 0 and trim will be fine. As I've posted elsewhere, I hope ED would fix this, ie. enable proper and precise trimming with axis curves set up.
  10. Enemies warping around screen when you have them in your sight is something I haven't seen in other games/sims. There was just no visible lag. Frequently, in DCS online, it would start as 20-50m warps and as you close in they can simply vanish to a position kilometer to your side. In most such cases even those "small" warps are enough for a missile to lose a lock. Frequently 3 different missiles at ranges 5-10 km fired within lethal cone are not enough to hit a bandit. Three IR/radar missiles missing happens sometimes even if bandit appears to be flying straight and not deploying any countermeasures, which can also be attributed to lag.
  11. Was your virtual pilot killed or? Sometimes, game concludes your plane suffered catastrophic damage and treats it as killed, and it becomes invisible on F10 map. However, even with dead engines, you may be near a base to which you can glide to and land. Or, aircraft can still be flyable and you can fly for a long time and land it. So, the damage recognition system should be looked into, I guess. But Hawk losing a wing online and dogfighting afterwards should be a more pressing matter... Happened the day before yesterday.
  12. When in Options, Controls tab, click at either JOY_X or JOY_Y axis and then click at FF Tune. Turn on "Swap axis" option. More info: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2999844&postcount=4 If you set axis curves for airplanes, you should avoid using trim button, but instead use keys on keyboard or potentiometers and it should work well.
  13. Second video up above. Target should be inside "lockable" range in the Radar view (RCtrl+F10). You will see beam rotating on the screen (with entire turret on the outside) and the system operators will work on obtaining a firing solution - for example - 8 seconds for Tor, 25+ seconds for Osa. Once solution is obtained, Lock button will light up and you can shoot your missile. During all this time, AAA/SAM system will follow the target (including F1 view also), until a lock is lost.
  14. In Ka-50, if you fly in winter and don't turn on de-icing systems, you will lose pitot speed indication first, then many other things, the most serious one being engine power and helicopter will eventually crash unless corrective measures are taken.
  15. I may be wrong, but I think trim used to work properly with curves a year ago or less. I would definitely like to have a properly working trim with curves set.
  16. No easy way, except maybe Snap view. A lot of old information on this subject can be found here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=107686&page=4 Have in mind that things have changed in the previous years. For instance, aircrafts folder is now aircraft folder, etc. Also, there was a mod I've been using which did centering for all planes, and one only for Ka-50.
  17. Customized cockpits are not touched during DCS updates. You don't have to turn them off or anything before an update, contrary to "regular" or JSGME mods. Download this latest version for Su-25T (October 2016) and follow install instructions: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/722567/ And this one for (February 2016) Ka-50: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1766778/ Restart game after selecting Customized cockpit. It is required. Let us know how it went.
  18. Pitot icing is also simulated on A-10C.
  19. You're welcome. :)
  20. I tested extensively in the last days, with varying launch ranges and altitudes and there is no significant change. Even launching from 17-18 km. One out of four scores a hit at best. Most of other, but not all, produce blast damage. Missile veers away from the target in the last seconds of flight in most cases. Like it's chasing a maneuvering target. If it continues to fly straight, it hits a spot in the ground in front of or behind a target.
  21. I have two issues with door gunner since recently. The first is that when I press 4 key, instead of being in a role of gunner, I'm actually looking at him from the middle of the fuselage. And I can look around. Like this: The second issue is that I can access Gunner control panel only from gunner position. And it seems that I cannot set rules for the gunner position I'm occupying.
  22. Are you sure? Works wonderfully here, as it always did. MS SW FFB2. Check the following: - In Options, Misc tab, tick the "Force Feedback" option; - In Options, Special tab, Mi-8MTV2 section, in Trimmer drop-down list select Default option; - In Options, Controls tab, "Mi-8MTV2 Sim" section, select "Axis Comands" in the second drop-down list, click at either JOY_X or JOY_Y, and then click at "FF Tune"; "Force Feedback Tune Panel" will appear, set "Trimmer Force [0...100]" (this is centering force) and "Shake [0...100]" to your liking and tick "Swap Axis" option (other options should be unticked); Click at OK; - Now click at "Axis Tune"; "Axis Tune Panel" will open. Set Curvature to 0. All options should be unticked. Perform this step for both axes, JOY_X and JOY_Y. Now, helicopter trim will work like it should. Explanation for the last step - Trim doesn't work properly if there is non-linear response, ie. curvature in response line. For instance, with curvature set to 30, you must deflect stick for approximately 40 % in order to assign a new neutral position at approximately 10 % defleection. Which defies the essence of helicopter trim. With Curvature set at 0, everything works fine. Except controls are very sensitive, but that is something I got used to. I hope there would b a solution for this problem.
  23. I know about Viggen since I was a kid. Also about Draken. And I'm not from Sweden. Viggen was quite capable aircraft with many advanced, ahead of time features, and it regularly practiced operating from the woods and roads preparing for the worst in the time Cold war was very close to become nuclearly hot.
  24. Your Mi-8 guide made learning and enjoying Mi-8 a lot easier. Thank you!
  25. Well, I wasn't too happy watching the video... :P Congratulations to the winner. If I may ask, what is a flight pack you mentioned?
