Should get the closure rate and target range ladders on the display (left and right side, respectively).

[NO BUG] Wingsweep Doesn't Work Right at Mission Start

Hit "Master Reset" button near your left knee on the front panel. -
And just like that my F14 career is over....
Dino Might replied to Andysim212's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Using a Warthog stick with VKB gimbal here, no extension. While the VKB gimbal helps, even it has some stiction, and it's a desktop model with no extension, so the equipment is not the major difference. I generally put the bird in "bomb mode" - reason being it's an easy way to sweep the wings and disable the slats all in one go. That prevents the unexpected pitch moments. Once you hook up, push forward a bit to get some slack in the line, and then keep vigilant with the throttle and trim. As you take on fuel, you will get heavier and start drifting back and low. A bump of trim here and there helps. Most important - BREATHE. Let the tension out and don't hold a death grip. -
A starting baseline would be nice. I have no experience with VA, but is it as simple as binding key command to a set of words? How does the jester menu work with this? Can I have a set of words that macros through the relevant options? Or is there a keybind directly for things like lock TWS target 1?

One more recommendation that worked wonders for me: BREATHE! I find myself jerking around too much when instant holding my breath and a death grip on the stick without consciously focusing on taking long slow breaths. -
I like the wallpaper, personally, but I also like the lived in cockpit look. I like a plane with character.

PSA: Virtual CVWs should have a 'v' for 'virtual'

There's only one explanation for this... He's a precog. -
The high-g damage modeling is making sure more stuff breaks at very high-g. Right now, you can pull some crazy instantaneous g for a short time and survive when you shouldn't, but sustained 12+ g will definitely still break your wings off.

I need to start up shadowplay again. Caught an OK 3-wire today! Flew center ball all the way in without any drift. I got super lucky. Also, DLC is the tops! Only problem was being a little long in the groove. Now I'm calling it... my next landing attempt is into the round down or the island.

This exceeded very high expectations. I don't know how I'm going to survive through work tomorrow and Friday. The right developers, with the right plane, at the right time. Fantastic work! I feel bad for anyone who cannot partake. I hope that this module can become part of the bonus program before the big switch over so I can pick up a few extra copies for some people who are currently missing out.

I caught a one-wire on my first go. Not too shabby considering how bad my pattern looked. I also hadn't mapped DLC. Now, I'm still all over the place, but the DLC really makes life a lot easier. I do admit to smashing the bird down on deck when I was clearly headed for a bolter. Just held DLC fwd, and careened into the 3-wire. Pretty textbook DCS player if you ask me... Jester has given me the appropriate amount of crap on each of my landings. I also tried AAR once - finally tanked up after about 15 minutes chasing the basket. My ego is definitely writing checks my body can't cash.

Ahhhh, now I know why I can't find my Jester menu, and there's sometimes a weird artifact line across my main screen - will see what's appearing on my (normally) A-10C MFCD monitors.

PSA: Virtual CVWs should have a 'v' for 'virtual'

Objection, not in theme of "A Few Good Men," or the hit show, "JAG," or any other related media that portrays Navy lawyers as super cool. -
Plenty of people will make great direct action air to air or air to ground missions. I'm starting this thread to lay out ideas for unconventional missions. I have gotten MOOSE scripting working to lay down walking artillery barrages that lead targets based on time of flight dead reckoning. The MOOSE devs built in functionality also includes use of f10 markers to manually task artillery fire missions. What will be the functionality of TARPS with respect to incorporating it into artillery spotting or AI bombing missions? I haven't read up on the system (forgive me), but was there and will there be a way to access TARPS data over RF, so that a recon aircraft can snap shots of a target and coordinates can be translated and sent to bombers on station? Or was TARPS a "bring it back for download before you see anything" system? How about running a dusk/night multicrew spotting mission? Would be fun with RIO finding targets on LANTIRN and calling in fire missions with map markers. RIO guides pilot to various areas for search. Pilot is responsible for driving the bus and handling any self-protect against enemy air defenses, or maybe an enemy fighter or two? I understand these are unrealistic missions, but I like making some game out of this game once in a while. I played a great capture the flag scenario with someone a while ago, and I plan to resurrect it for the tomcat.

Does this affect integrity check?

You don’t want the truth because deep down in places you don’t talk about on the forum, you want me in this thread, you need me in this thread! We use words like virtual, spamraam, DCS wishlist. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something, you use them as a punchline. I have neither the time, nor the inclination to explain myself, to a man who rises and sleeps, under the blanket of the very arbitrary community standards that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide them! I’d rather you just said ‘thank you’, and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a moderator title, and edit some posts. Either way, I don’t give a damn, what squadron names you think you are entitled to! -

Yeah, but first you need to get through the law school training missions and pass the bar checkride. -
Love me some analog instruments. The F14B is about as computerized as I prefer. It is the perfect blend of everything I want in a module. This one will be quite difficult to beat. Flight model Multicrew Carrier capable Insanely good looks Sound

PSA: Virtual CVWs should have a 'v' for 'virtual'
Dino Might replied to Nealius's topic in Multiplayer
Naming a post "PSA: you should..." smacks of self righteous indignation. If the OP doesn't want snark, he shouldn't kick off with it. I don't care that some people do or don't associate military ranks and squadron/wing emblems with their in-game personas. I DO care when people try to curtail the ability of others to do something for no good reason. The penchant for people trying to control what other people do without good cause is a pox on our species, and this topic itself is a symptom of the greater disease. Trying to restrict someone from adopting a non-offensive moniker in an online game? C'mon... -

I'm offended that Maverick is not the real fictitious character from the 1980s screenplay that unrealistically represents real naval aviators. You should rename yourself [DCS]vMaverick -
Can't wait to try this when I get a chance. Have you guys seen the LSO functionality they are putting into MOOSE? May want to try and sync up with the guys doing that. Could be a way to further the scripting development.

PSA: Virtual CVWs should have a 'v' for 'virtual'
Dino Might replied to Nealius's topic in Multiplayer
Gotta say, I'm with those folks. Who cares? Unless these guys are legitimately claiming to be real squadron aviators and trying to gain tangible benefits from false claims of service, then there's no harm in them play acting, playing dress up, doing whatever they want with their time and effort. This nonsense of "rights" to the [virtual] squadron name is totally absurd. You make a DCS group, name it after a real squadron, no problem. But don't go trashing someone else for doing the exact same thing. "You don't own that squadron, the taxpayers do. Your ego is writing checks your body can't cash." Call yourselves whatever you want, don't try to stop others from calling themselves whatever they want. Until someone dropped legal papers with a cease and desist, id tell them to stuff it. And as for "offending" the real aviators of those squadrons, id be shocked if any of them gave a rat's behind. If you fly multimillion dollar war machines for a living, you aren't going to get your panties In a wad about a bunch of adults that like to pretend to be you. In fact, you probably get a chuckle and a bit of an ego boost out of it. I'm still waiting for my time in the spotlight when people want to role play as REMFs. -
Yes, buy the two pack and create a second account to bind the second key to (I now have one ED account with only the F14 on it). I have exactly the same plans. Wife will be VR in the back seat on the upstairs computer while I pilot downstairs with trackIR on the projector. I'm also going to get my daughter into DCS when she is old enough, so this investment is long term :)
