Probably didn't matter. TALD was launched after the sa3 was in already firing on the plane. TALD is something you launch into the SAM bubble (from further away) so they lock onto and shoot at it first.

I actually think it's time to bring out the pitchforks. I was assured by multiple forum users that it would be out on the 20th, and, as a result, rescheduled my brother's wedding, birth of my first child, and grandfather's funeral around that date. Considering that everything posted online is a binding verbal contract, I have half a mind to sue for damages to the tune of one million dollars, a flight to the ISS, and the home or future home of anyone who I feel misled me.

I'm curious about this as well. Super excited that I will at least be able to replace all the statics with Bs for now, but a carrier full of As, even if only static and AI is what I eventually would like to see.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but pretty sure that was all scripted and recorded outside the game, not from Jester. Not taking away anything from how great Jester already is, but nobody is going to make an AI that realistic (I hope...Turing test be damned)

Stupid question, but if the TGP view is masked outside the line, then how is it presenting the full image as is, seeing outside the line?

Because you can export views, it's kind of silly to say that stick must remain for realism. I mean, at the end of the day, those of us who want realism are building our own pits. Someone exporting to another desktop monitor is far less "realistic" than someone hiding the stick.

If you want to do the trig, in the modern jets you would need to do the inverse both ways because the system does it for you already. As stated before, BRA gives range and altitude, so put TDC at correct range and set high/low altitude of radar scan to bracket the reported altitude. No need to do the trig stuff. So I'm thinking the real question is, what are the scan zone indications, and how is scan zone adjusted on the fly? Twisty knob? Hotas control? Does the fishbowl show altitude bracket at the TDC, like in the m2k and F15 VSD? Now with the Su27, it is marginally different. Set the ezpected range to reported range, take reported alt, subtract your alt, and move the scan zone up or down based on the difference divided by 1000 (e.g., you are 5km alt, target at 7km alt, 20km away. Set expected range to 20, and set scan elevation to +2).

My Super Hornet log book using vLSO in P3D has about 90% of them as cut passes. I would have been sent home from the fleet after the first or second wave off that I ended up forcing down onto the deck :lol:

Back after a long spell doing nothing on this. Just getting ready to start building the seat this weekend. For the buttons mentioned, I am going to try momentary push buttons with LED indicators to show which one is currently selected. Need to look up if there's a way to get the LEDs cross connected the right way so that turning one on turns the others off.

I'm shifting to an early March release. Late enough for polishing, early enough that they have slop to deal with any issues on ED's end. Work has me super busy in Feb anyways, so all fine by me :)

Is this possible with the AIM7 as well? Very interesting. I can see that the RIO will have his hands full, but a competent one is going to be a heck of an asset. I'm starting to understand why FOs call the pilots "just the bus driver."
