I have just installed DCS World Open Beta alongside my install of DCS World so I will be running both at the same time. I have opened Nvidia control panel to setup the options for DCS Open Beta but it doesn't show in the list, it only shows DCS Black Shark which controls my normal consumer version of DCS. Does the DCS Black Shark application in Nvidia CP control both installations at the same time or do I need to add the new application to Nvidia Control Panel manually? Jacks

Also how do you change the nvidia settings for the second install as it only shows one profile in Nvidia Control Panel, DCS: Black Shark, which is the one I use to control the graphics setting for the normal version. Thanks for all your help! Jacks

Looks like I am sorted but it looks like it a will have to dedicate a day to remaping all of the keys and axis for the open beta version :(

sorry for all the questions, is it possible to run two JSGMEs at the same time by copying JSGME in to a new file path and changing the name of the launcher?

How do you guys manage mods, do you have to install the mod in the _MODS file in each install? Can JSGME mod two installs at the same time?

After Wags' video, I, like many other I am sure, will be changing from the standard install of DCS 1 to the Open Beta version. My question is am I better to install the Beta version as a second install on my system (may take up a lot of memory) or should I just upgrade my current version to the open beta and just use that. I use a lot of mods using JSGME (mainly texture and cockpit mods) and so how would this work with two installs? What are the advantages and disadvantages of: a. A single install of DCS Open Beta? b. Having both DCS Open Beta and DCS World installed on the same machine? Thanks in advance, Jacks

I would love to see the addition of a SAR script so if a certain number of aircraft take off in a row without retuning to bases, then no fixed wing aircraft cannot spawn at that airfield until some helicopters have rescued a number of downed pilots in the local area. This would be great flying for the helo pilots and stop people banging out once they are out of weapons or low on fuel instead of RTB. This in turn will lead to more gaps in the CAPs which should allow for more fluid gameplay and less of the 40 minute min helo ride just to get shot down complaints. Also this will force teams to manage their weapons and fuel better and coordinate when players RTB. Jacks

Now matter what I try, I cannot get the pilot body (or at least legs to show). I have the option selected in the options menu and I am pressing RShift+P. I am doing anything else wrong? Jacks

Very nice! The main reason I built this was because I am keen on the Afganistan scenario and I wanted a base that only had one HLS for multiplayer so if squadrons use it online one can land at a time while the others flŷ a traffic pattern around the FOB. Should make for some interesting troop pickups!

No offence taken, glad you are enjoying it! The reason I went for the lights was that it can be used for night flying. I designed the FOB so that people can easily add and take away as they please. Once the new mission editor is release I will build another, maybe a bit smaller.

For all you mission designers interested in designing realsitic Afghanistan missions, please follow this link below to an Afghan FOB which can be used as a template in ME. Cib, download my mod and if you want you can simply copy the following fils into the 229th Vietnam mod (or even 229th Combined Objects Mod) file structure and it should work (these are the only mods bespoke to the FOB): In the Mods/tech folder: Cargo (lua file) CargoContainer - Brown (lua file) CargoContainer (lua file) In the Mods/tech/Shapes folder: Cargo.EDM konteiner_brown_mod.EDM konteiner_white_mod.EDM The mod pack consists of these three mods, the Ranger79 mod pack and the LZ Lights mod by Lilkiki. Cib, I have just tested the mod pack and it seems to work with the ISO containers and cargo showing. Are you use the mod pack I have linked or different ones? Is anyone else having this problem? On the LZ light front, I have checked the lua file and I can't see a line of code to control light intensity so it may be hardcoded into the model. LIlkiki created the lights so is your best port of call. Jacks

Yes delete the CH-47. The chinook is not part of the template, just eye candy which means when you move the FOb to your desired location, the chinook will not move with it. Are you using the mod pack as I am wondering why the ISO containers are not showing in your screenshots. - I will check that tonight. Red the lights, I will look at the LZ lights .lua tonight but I am sure LIlkiki will provide an answer before I do. Jacks

The Afghan style FOB I have been working on, FOB RANGER, is now complete and so please see below. The FOB is a single group template in the attached mission, so open the mission, click on the FOB RANGER Group and save it as a template so you can place it wherever you like and rotate it. I have also put together a mod pack which supports it. The mod pack includes mods by Ranger79 and Lilkiki (a big thank you to them for their great work) and a few of my own. The Mod Pack is JSGME ready. Unfortunately the mod pack use the same folders as many texture mods and so JSGME will not install both at the same time. So if you want to use this FOB with a texture mod (say Starway's Desert 3.0) simple copy all of the files in the FOB Mod Pack into the texture mod you want to use ensuring you keep the same file structure. Please follow this link below to the Mod Pack: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gpurkubr37g0bvu/FOB%20RANGER%20Mod%20Pack.zip?dl=0 The MOD pack also includes all of the modern U.S vehicles and Insurgent vehicles created by Ranger79 to help mission building. The FOB has over 100 objects but doesn't hit FPS too hard. If you are having issues with FPS then I recommend deleting the barbed wiring, followed by the soldiers and then followed by the vehs. There are a couple of issues with the vehs which mean the sight doesn't work correctly when using combined arms. This only applies to some vehs, not all. The vehs, infantry and mortars are part of the FOB group and so cannot be control by CA as they are (you can't send a command to the whole FOB at once!) so if you do want to use the FOB for CA, you will have to delete the units you want to use and them re-insert as part of separate group. For increased immersion, I recommend setting some patrol paths for the soldiers and vehs in mission editor. The chicane entry control point (ECP) has been designed and tested so the vehs can drive out of it without driving through walls. Please see below for a few screenshots. Last request I promise. I have an issue with a few vehicles in a mod pack I am using, the view seems to be rotated by 90 degrees (please see attached photo). I assume this is used a bug in the vehicles .lua file but I can't find the line of code that sets the angle of the view when behind the weapon system. Can anybody help? Does anyone have or know of a model of an ISO container? I am looking for a model of an ISO container that can be add to a group or template (I.e not a static structure like the ones included in the game). Any help would be appreciated. Jacks
