Currently I use my Saitek throttle quadrant to control the undercarriage, parking brake and air brakes on most aircraft. Whenever any of the levers are pushed passed the zero point they register as a button. This works well for lowering the undercarriage as I can assign this extra button to an action and it acts like the real thing. The problem is that I have to then raise the lever and then press another button to activate the action of raising of the uncarriage. Is there anyway I can change how the buttons are assigned so that aircraft that require a button to raise and another button to lower the undercarriage can use a single button to perform these two actions just like the actions that use a press hold function like wheel brakes? I hope this makes sense. Jacks

I haven't seen that mod! Is your own or is it available for download?

[MOD]DCS Infantry playable
Jacks replied to inSky_1911CFZS's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Does this mod work on multiplayer? -
There are still plenty of original and flying airframes that could be used as a reference and so I don't see this being a problem. Plans also still exist for many of the aircraft plus the aircraft were so simple that I wouldn't see as too much of a challenge. I would like to see a WW1 French map with a model trench system  Jacks

[DCSW: Mi-8MTV2] English Cockpit Mod
Jacks replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Devrim, thanks for the reply. I may look at the textures and see if I can place some labels over the shimmering text. It won't look too good but will do the job. Hopefully, DirectX 11 will resolve this issue. I have had shimmering text in every cockpit in dcs and so had use mods for each one. Thanks again for the mod which I have used since day one of flying the mi-8. Jacks -
Buy a helicopter then :megalol:

[DCSW: Mi-8MTV2] English Cockpit Mod
Jacks replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Devrim, thanks for this great mod! I have a issue where the White writing on the lower centre console continually flickers and is completely illegible. I assume that this is a mipmap issue. Is this a known problem and is there a fix for it? Jacks -
Chuck, I have seen a script somewhere that means that if a player is shot down, they cannot respawn until they are rescued by a helicopter. This would replicate medievac and SAR ops. Could be a cool addition to the mission and create an additional task that has a serious effect on operational success. Jacks

I joined the server as a mig-21 for some PvP action but could not rearm or refuel as the option was blanked out in the communications menu. This meant I could load any AA missiles - not much good for PvP. I tried a few mig-21s and found the same problem. Is this a known bug? Jacks

Sounds good, should be available. Looking forward to it! Jacks

This is one of the aircraft I am looking forward the most! It would be great to see a Falklands scenario or the harrier operating in an Afghanistan scenario. I would particularly love to see a sea harrier and Working HMS Ark Royal. Good luck with this exciting project. Jacks

Never but isn't that the point of of a simulator? They certainly squared up to each on numerous times during the height of the Cold War. We are talking about a 'cold' war era scenario, because it never developed into a full conflict. Surely this means that the majority of the mig-21's opponents never actually saw action. People are interested in the Cold War era of simulation to play the what if scenarios especially given the current map options. So I personally think that the east vs west dogfights and engagements between aircraft that never actually fought will be the most popular.

If I had to choose a nemesis for the Mig-21 it would have to be the English Electric Lightning. Can't wait to see the lightning in DCS and I would love to see Leatherneck sims to model it given the standard of the mig-21. Jacks

After reading into the I-16, it appears to be slower in the cruise and dive when compared to the 109 but has a better climb rate at low altitudes and can out tun a 109. It is also a smaller target with similar firepower and a reliable power plant up front. So it may be able to give the 109 a run for its money. It sounds like a good turn fighter and if a pilot can drag the 109 down low and get into a turn fight then it may hold the upper hand. Looking forward to this aircraft.

Looks great but will this aircraft stand a chance against the FW-190 or ME-109? Would love to see the AN-2 on their Facebook page introduced to DCS, would be great for field landings and resupplies or maybe for dropping paratroopers. Jacks

Smooth as butter at 60fps, choppy and Jerky at 30fps
Jacks replied to Jacks's topic in Game Performance
The monitor itself is 60hz according to the manufacturer and I have it set at 60hz in asus you tweak. If I cap the dos to 50, I also change the refresh rate to 50hz. Jacks -
Bump? Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Jacks

I would like to running an idea past the experts to check it viability. I would like to see a mod for a hand launcher mini UAV like the desert hawk. The UAV would be launched by a JTAC and then controlled using the F10 map to give it waypoint and an altitude to fly just like any other AI unit. The UAV would feed a camera picture back to the JTAC using either the A-10C's TGP feed or the Skhval feed to keep thing s simple. The JTAC would have this feed in the corner of his screen so he could continue to do JTACy things but he would be able to control the UAV's sensor, controlling the pan and zoom. The JTAC could also select a 'SPI' for to camera to look at. The UAV would also have an IR capability so it could operate at night and a laser designator. I think that a mini UAV would be a great tool for a JTAC and allow quick aerial recce close to battle. Does this sound like a viable and achievable mod?

Devrim, I agree on reducing the scope so we can complete the mission. Maybe splitting the slicks into two flights with one dropping off while the other picks up. I think a commander is required to move the infantry and one or two jtacs to control air movement around the target and give fire missions to the gunships. I personally would also like to see a fixed wing asset with a good optical sensor that can sit high up in the overhead, locating targets and providing info to otherrs. Having tgp or skhval footage of targets being engaged and slicks landing on would look great on a video! That said, last weekend's mission was well planned and executed and a lot of fun!
