I am not too bothered about adding static objects to the group as the only static objects are the chinook and the 4 ISO containers. Is there a way to move the models and entry.lua for static objects into another category say fortifications so they are seen as active units and can be added to groups? In terms of alignment I had to enter and exit the game about 200-300 times making tiny adjustments in ME each time! My main concern is just being able to group so many groups into one. I wondered if there was a away to change the script that ME generates for the mission and change the name for each unit to the same name so when I reopen mission editor it thinks it is all one group and so allows me to turn it all into one template. Are there any programs that open the.miz file outside of DCS so you edit the script/code. What language are .miz files written in? I am concerned that with the vehs in the one group, giving s command to one veh will command them all! Jacks

I am currently working on a FOB build which is 90% complete. I just need to add some barbed wiring, some guards and a few more vehicles. I am not ready to release this FOB to the public yet but wanted to see if there was much interest before continuing. Unfortunately being new to DCS Mission Editor means have gone the wrong way about creating a template and so may to rebuild the whole FOB. The FOB will have some key features: - Usable guard towers/sangars that can used to return fire on INS FPs with the the ability for CA players to man the guns and for JTAC to use the towers for spotting and directing CAS (not being a modeller, any help with this would be much appreciated!) - A HLS for Helos to land on, pickup and drop off troops and stores and drop off underslung loads. A script could be created so that once the guard tower have ran out of ammo, they require an under slung load to resuppply them. Thanks to lilkiki, the HLS has lighting for night ops. (The HLS cannot be used to spawn at to refuel/rearm) - A 3 barrel mortar pit which can be controlled by those with CA to provide indirect fire support. - All vehs are CA ready and so CA players can conduct veh patrols or ground resupplies from the FOB and routine patrols can be set by creating AI paths. CA players can drive the patrols themselves and use the weapon systems. I cannot take any credits for the models, that has to go to Ranger79 and Lilkiki. I am planning on creating a number of Checkpoints, Patrol Bases, FOBs and a Main Operating Base (MOB). Please see below attached pics.

Can I make a single template from multiple groups? I have created a FOB using mainly single unit groups. Can I combine these into one group or create a single template to move the FOB around the map? Please say yes because if not I have just wasted over 10 hours of my life. Please below for pics of the FOB which is 90% complete and is pretty much all infantry, armour or fortification units. All I have left to do is add the barbed wiring, guards and a few more vehs and it is done. Jacks

I am looking for mod that allows me to place street type lighting so I can light up a base I am building at night. Does such a mod exist? Jacks

also looking forward to this module in VR. Are you still on target for a release this year?

I think shoreham can recover from this but I think it is unlikely that will want to run an airshow for a few years plus liability insurance will be hard to get for a descent price. I think if they did put on an airshow, people will still come as aviation will always inspire and the public will think that shorehams procedures will be tighter than ever. I think shoreham will run similar events in the future as they ante an essential source of income for airfields although they are a risky business since you risk a loss if the weather is terrible. I think this will have duxford worried with the M11 running very close to the eastern threshold. I am always concerned about my height over the motorway when on final approach there. This is a terrible accident which acts as a reminder just how dangerous aviation still is.

Beautiful model! Do you guys plan to make this multi-crew for training? Will you require a third party developer's licence to be able to include certain systems such as a custom hud? I have subscribed to this thread so I can track your progress! Jacks

Great video and impressive flying! They must have super computers to fly with that many aircraft in formation and no fatal lag! -
Have you connected external ground power?

I have a a 3570k OC'd at 4.5. Would I see much of a difference with a 4790k also at 4.5? I always thought since DCS doesn't use hyperthreading, as long the clock speeds are the same, performance should be the same regardless of which CPU you are using. -

I would recommend approaching low and slow from the 7 o'clock position in the Huey and 5 o'clock position in the Mi-8. This will maximise your visibility and help you maintain a reference point. Maintain this position until you are about to land and passed through the translational lift phase and move slowly sideways and forwards (still facing forward) and land. Avoid pitching the nose to high in the flare so the tail does strike the railings. This technique works for me and once established on a final approach, I turn the NVGs as the ship gives off sufficient light. -
Looking for a nice Mi-8 campaign

I am on a similar quest for more performance. I know everyone says DCs 1.5 should bring a performance boost but it may not. I would prefer to get the performance to where I want. It now and if DCS 1.5 does give better performance I can use the gains to turn up the eye candy. For me the biggest performance gains were overclocking my i5 from 3.4 GHz to 4.5GHz. This gave me a very noticeable boost! I used the same cooler as you to achieve this overclock. After the overclock I noticed the only stutters (other during very busy scenes) was when the scenery was loading in the background so I bought an SSD and no more stutters. Now I run my system at 50FPS which can drop 30 FPS when on the ground with other aircraft nearby or when there are lot of explosions and tracer fire. I have noticed that I get more stutters when all my VRAM is used (which happens a lot online) so my next purchase is a GTX 970 with 3.5GB VRAM. I have heard that Windows 10 is giving some people a boost in FPS (about 10%extra). There are some texture mods that increase performance by tweaking the high.lua and some tweaks that you can do to the graphics.cfg and options.cfg files that can boost FPS. The other way to improve FPS is to play around with your in game graphics options and graphics card control panel to find the combination that works best for your system. -

I too have never hosted a game online and so not too sure how to. I am GMT +1 and can only get online once I have put my son to bed so 2100hrs onwards. That'll be 2300 your time, is that too late? -

Body Farm, have you got it to work in multiplayer? -
Great work guys and very professional! Will the gazelle be available for pre-purchase? Will it be in Alpha or Beta? Do you much work left to do? This is definitely the module I am looking forward to the most in 2015. Jacks

Using lights will affect the FPS of all surrounding players. I think the lighting discipline measures are as much about maximising FPS as they are about counter surveillance control measures (CSCM). Could be worth checking with Chuck.
