  1. Same as above, generally 60 but dips to 40 and at 40 view panning can be jerky. Looking to upgrade soon to a 970 or 980.
  2. Love the grey skin. How is the AFM coming along?
  3. Looks really good. It is projects like this that has inspired me to take up 3D modelling. Looking forward to seeing what the cockpit is looking like and if it is to the same level as the exterior I am sure it will look fantastic. Keep up the great work!
  4. Have the same issue with the Huey and the mi-8. Good job I am not epileptic!
  5. I love te L-39 but like many, shimmering cockpit lettering and instruments are spoiling the experience and making it difficult to fly. Can anybody please modify the cockpit textures to include mipmaps in order to rectify this problem? Regards, Jacks
  6. Not everyone has this issue so why do we? It is it a setting issue??!
  7. Have shadows I high. The shadows are unrealistic and distracting.
  8. Huey is also missing a heat blur.
  9. I have always had issues with the white textures such as instruments and labels in cockpits shimmering and flickering making them near impossible to read. 1.5 has fixed this issue for most if the aircraft but I am having the same issue with the L-39. Previously I have fixed this by using cockpit texture mods which have all worked well (hence it is not a hardware issue). Why is it that some people suffer mipmap issues whereas others don't? Is this a setting issue? Are there any plans to release a mipmap update or mod for the L-39? Is anyone else experiencing this in the L-39?
  10. The shadows cast by helicopter rotors flicker too much and are too excessive. They make it difficult to fly with the sun on your back.
  11. I am having issues with the white text and instruments shimmering as if they have no mipmaps (had same issue with other aircraft). Is there a plan to update the cockpit?
  12. Bump
  13. I am slowly teaching myself to 3D model and find blender easier to use but found it find difficult to the texture the blender models in 3Ds max and could not get it to UVW unwrap correctly (there was no option for faces in UVW unwrap just edges and polygons). In the end I simply textured each object with a solid colour using the material editor. Will these textures show in DCS or do I need to create a UVW map? Are there any plans for an EDM plugin for Blender.
  14. Is there a way to retrieve weather data such as wind speed and direction from the sim so it can be used in a model argument?
  15. Brilliant, thanks for the replies. Are there any insurgent mods? I am looking for Afghanistan insurgents with black or grey clothing and headwear.
  16. I nominate pikey for his dedication to teamplaying which has meant he spent 99% of the time as AWACS has been promoting communication between teams and is always jumping between channels. Other BLUFOR players that have impressed me are Smudge and Beamrider. Both incredibly professional and friendly. I think smudge earns the award for the most bases cleared single-handedly in his KA-50!
  17. I am writing a counter insurgency mission and so i am using insurgent infantry as enemy. Unfortunately the INS only seem to kneel and never stand. They also move around on their knees which looks really odd. Is there a way to get them to stand or an insurgent mod? Jacks
  18. +1. Being able to edit key binding in multiplayer is a must for me.
  19. +1 for a pre order! It would be great to see this released before Christmas. Any news on the website?
  20. I am looking for a mod that will allow me to export the mfd to other players on multiplayer either through dcs or through twitch. Can this be achieved using this mod?
  21. Blueskunk, I disagree. A channel can work with 20 players and yes that is based on operational experience. People will learn to only say what is necessary and actually a good proportion will only sit in that channel for SA. Blocking people from channels only excludes people and or one has put me off joining 104th or TAW.
  22. Unfortunately you can't. DCS does not yet allow you to place flyable aircraft away from FARPs or airfields.
  23. I disagree. Using teamspeak is not just about communicating but rather about maintaining situational awareness. So yes you may be able to request a Huey to support using text chat but listening in on TS will give the SA as to where they are, threats they are facing etc. If my squadron is not flying and I am a lone wolf, I like to join a channel to gain SA but will stay silent although this is now difficult to do since the campaign is becoming insular and unwelcoming with channel passwords. You are only able to use text chat now because people use TS. If we relies more on text chat as you suggest then it will suddenly be swamped with messages, most of which will not add value and the key messages will get lost in the mire and people will simply choose to ignore the streams of text chat as it will distract them from flying. I personally am disappointed that some channels are passworded as DCS is a game, not real life, and as such it should strive to be as welcoming and inclusive as possible so we can share our passion and hobby with others. Real lives are not at risk so lighten up and open your doors to others who simply want to experience what it is like to fly with a professional squadron. Take those chatty lonewolves under your wing and teach/develop them as virtual pilots. Teach them procedures and brevity but NEVER exclude, it only hinders and limits our great community. There is no place for elitism in DCS. Jacks out
  24. Maybe red side are on a comeback because they don't have passworded channels and so are working better as a single team..............
  25. Here is a picture of my in game options and also I took a picture of the cockpit view with cockpit resolution set to 1024 every frame and MSAA set to x16Q, the highest settings. Any ideas? Jacks
