After flying the Mi-8 for a few months, I have decided to make it my primary aircraft and so I trying to learn all of the systems but have a few questions for the experts: 1. Does the signal flare dispenser work? 2. Although the Doppler control panel say map angle which suggests true north, does it use magnetic north headings as I seem to be about 6 degrees off at the moment. 3. Is the combustion heater used for cabin heat or fuel preheating. 4. How and when do you use the DC and AC rheostats? I have noticed that the system charges at 32V DC, this seems high for a 24V system, do the rheostats reduce the charging voltage and increase it under loads or do they just balance the system. 5. How and when do you use the PU-26 control panel (gyromagnetic compass set)? 6. Can the R-828 only be used as an ADF for ARC-UD beacons or can it be used to point towards any preset HF frequency such as an airfield? 7. Is there any documentation anywhere explaining the use of the fire extinguisher and fire extinguishers test system? (not included in manual) 8. Is there any documentation explaining the use of the governor control panel? (not included in manual) 9. Is the air horn working? I am creating so naval ops mission for the Huey and want create a way for it to finds its way home. I have tried to use the ctts but to no avail. Is there a way to place an AM or FM beacon on a carrier at sea in 1.5? Will it work in multiplayer? Thanks in advance, Jacks

The Mi-14 was an amphibious nuclear depth charge capable anti-submarine helicopter that was based on the mi-8. With the naval side getting a boost this year with the f-14 and F-18, I for one would love to see an ASW capable aircraft such as the Mi-14. I hope that Belsimtek could find the time to convert an Mi-8 into a Mi-14! Would anybody else like to see this?

I too am looking for a new card but want to be able to oculus rift on high-max. What are people's experience of OR, will a 970 suffice or is a 980ti the minimum to achieve these settings at 60fps?

Still as a business, taking two weeks to reply to fault and request for support is unacceptable IMHO. Poor show Letherneck.......... I still have no answer. I would be interested to hear the fix they give you. Jacks

Servers are generally locked at the moment to limit the number of players since 1.5 multiplayer is unstable with many servers experiencing memory leakage and regularly crashing. Also many server owners have become tired of trolls. Onve the multiplayer issues in 1.5 have been sorted, I am sure we will see more servers increasing their max number of players and lifting the passwords.

I sent an email to LNS on Thursday and still haven't heard anything. At the moment I have a module that I paid for and cannot use. I tried PMing Cobra but his inbox is too full and can't receive anymore messages. So far LNS' customer service appears to be shocking..........

I am using Cribob's CTLD to allow two Mi-8s to pickup two small AI infantry units and then drop them off at a HLS where their landing triggers other events. I would like to know how I get the two specifically named inf units to respawn if the mi-8 carrying them dies. Is this possible? Jacks

Same as above, generally 60 but dips to 40 and at 40 view panning can be jerky. Looking to upgrade soon to a 970 or 980.

Love the grey skin. How is the AFM coming along?

Looks really good. It is projects like this that has inspired me to take up 3D modelling. Looking forward to seeing what the cockpit is looking like and if it is to the same level as the exterior I am sure it will look fantastic. Keep up the great work!

Have the same issue with the Huey and the mi-8. Good job I am not epileptic!

I love te L-39 but like many, shimmering cockpit lettering and instruments are spoiling the experience and making it difficult to fly. Can anybody please modify the cockpit textures to include mipmaps in order to rectify this problem? Regards, Jacks

Not everyone has this issue so why do we? It is it a setting issue??!

Have shadows I high. The shadows are unrealistic and distracting.

Huey is also missing a heat blur.

I have always had issues with the white textures such as instruments and labels in cockpits shimmering and flickering making them near impossible to read. 1.5 has fixed this issue for most if the aircraft but I am having the same issue with the L-39. Previously I have fixed this by using cockpit texture mods which have all worked well (hence it is not a hardware issue). Why is it that some people suffer mipmap issues whereas others don't? Is this a setting issue? Are there any plans to release a mipmap update or mod for the L-39? Is anyone else experiencing this in the L-39?

The shadows cast by helicopter rotors flicker too much and are too excessive. They make it difficult to fly with the sun on your back.
