Track moving targets with TPOD not working after cold start
Shadow_1stVFW replied to astazou's topic in Resolved Bugs
This is still a bug. Yes. Only works with hot start. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk -
There was no tone (unlike your post) I made a simple comment. To the best of my knowledge it has never worked. Maybe it has, I don't know, I know it hasn't in the last 6 months at least. ANYWAY, I seem to remember someone saying it may have been an issue with the INS not being implemented before. Maybe it'll get worked on with the new hire they have for this project. But dude, calm down.

Yeah, I really want this to make it in the base game. This was good work.

You can add a shifted layer too. Like a pinky button and it makes a new button. You can do that in the DCS gui. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

ok... pressing the key was to ensure the menu came up. either way, it sounds like you have mapped the wrong key then.

Try pressing \ and make sure the com menu shows up period. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Most of it works. There are 2 sides. One of the sides are wet numbers (meaning using water and increased engine power profile) and the other side is not using those (or dry). You have to press either VTO(vertical take off) VL(vertical landing) or STO(short take off). Then it gives you performance numbers. Like NRAS is nozzle rotation air speed, gross weight. Required fuel for action you are trying to take. It's pretty intuitive. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Tarawa landing . Why land like helicopter?
Shadow_1stVFW replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in AV-8B N/A
By "straight in" I meant deck style. I should have been more clear. I was specifically talking about the invention of the angled deck. But, to answer your question the Case I approach is extremely efficient. I allows pilots and controllers to conduct radio silent recoveries, it's simple, and can be translated to ground based airfields which simplifies pilot training. -
Nothing updated this update. Double check you were actually in HTS or TDC mode. I just used the TPOD and it's working like it's been for a while. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Only below around 50 knots. Then it becomes a problem. Before that it's fine. Preferred actually

Right, think of the laser like a laser pointer. If you are in range, the laser shoots out and hits the target you want. If it's cloudy or conditions otherwise do not permit, the laser is attenuated before the object, there is no spot where the laser reflects off. You don't see the laser spot. Or if it's just too far away maybe you could technically still see the spot, but it's too faint to be detected. Thanks for looking into it.
-
I understand that, but the issue is currently that spot that the laser degrades at is tracked by weapons. Meaning if you're guiding a maverick and get 500 feet further than the edge of useable laser the maverick will chase the end of the beam. That doesn't work conceptually because there is nothing for the laser to reflect off to be tracked. If 8.something miles is as far as you can get a lock and track off of, fine. But the weapons shouldn't be chasing the arbitrary "tip" of the laser.

I found this quote about 47 static objects of 428 to hide...

I just went up and tested some of the sidearm fixes: -Sidearm keeps lock when the aircraft is not pointing at the target. -Sidearm keeps lock after firing when another missile remains in the aircraft -Sidearm does not have volume control (Sidewinder volume control also fixed Here is what I found, -The Sidearm does drop it's lock after firing. The tone will change from lock, to acquiring. -The next missile will not lock onto anything, and the tone will not change, dispite turing away and back in -Caging and uncaging does not affect this -The A/G target undesig button does not unlock the sidearm per the manual -Still only able to fire the second missile by deselecting and reelecting the SA. This is on version 2.5.3.23788 Open Beta Track File In this track I attempt to engage multiple SA-6 radars. You can see I fire one, attempt to gain another lock, cage/uncage, A/G undesig, turn. It isn't until I reelect the missile I am able to fire again. The third missile I show just a release to show the missile isn't still locked as it goes ballistic off the rail. And the last missile is a hit after reelecting the missile. Hope this helps

I promise this one is a new one! I noticed a while back that while in multiplayer, your (the player's) aircraft will have the correct fuel tanks, but any other client (not you) will have fins on both sides of the fuel tank. I know they aren't the best pictures, but this shows it.

That is very good news. Thanks for the update Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

They did mention this in the video. He said the team can't both focus on working and digging through the forum forum for bugs, test those bugs and fix them. He also said he was doing that, so he can give a list to the coders so they can focus. He said he's going through the bug section and testing everything. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Tarawa landing . Why land like helicopter?
Shadow_1stVFW replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in AV-8B N/A
In the Sim, sure, why not. In real life What happens if the brakes fail on roll out? What happens if a tire blows? What new approach system will be installed on the ship to accommodate this? What about all the lessons learned during WWII on straight in approaches to ships? I could go on. The ship is designed to accept aircraft in that manner. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk -

I'm sure it's buried in a chunk of code. The hot start vs cold start to me says the issue is in a block of code dealing with probably something completely unrelated to the TPOD. Most probably a right PITA to hunt down. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

That's one of the reasons you don't see heavily laden harriers shipboard. You can have single bombs on the pylons and missiles and be fine. More than that you're probably SOL. You'd have to look at the performance numbers Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
