Do you turn NWS off before you start taking off, or do you leave it on?
-
We can´t always have what we want...
-
Because of reasons such as this:
-
While I agree I never saw it on the real aircraft, carrying 2-4 more bombs on the wings would free up the centerline for fuel.
-
Very good module, missile performance is outstanding (I have no data on the accuracy of the missile performance, but the Super 530 D is a sniper rifle compared to the flaming cliffs SARH missiles and makes one forget you only carry two of them, as they are very deadly when employed correctly.), it´s a nimble dogfighter with an accurate, in depth navigational system that allows quick, manual creation of flight plans and way points. Very suitable for multiplayer, as it can easily perform a variety of roles in conjunction with other players. Can be used as a bomb-truck with 4 GBU-12s and a supporting A-10C or JTAC while still carrying full A2A load. Can work as a makeshift AWACs using it´s western RWR and pretty good Radar suit, point defence interceptor as it has very quick turn around times, and large flights can be a very effective CAP solution, as the engine is very fuel efficient and the centerline droptank is huge, meaning you can stay up and running for quite a while before BINGO. The weapons computer even allows you to turn off the cooling for the IR missiles, as they would normally run out after 90 minutes of continuous running. Remembering to turn them off (and on again before you need them) is something no other jet models yet AFAIK, and could produce some confusion why your Magic IIs refuse to lock after a 2 hour CAP mission. But it is a long enough time that a simple romp on a MP server is not largely affected, still nice that they payed attention to it. The damage model seems to be largely fixed so it doesn´t tank missiles to the face anymore, atleast from my experience, making it more enjoyable to fly against. Variety of modern functionalities such as various quick, close range air to air modes, easy bullseye-referencing, the Radar seems to perform very realistically in regards to dropping locks on notching targets (I tend to try and avoid doppler-problems actively by diving below my target if possible before launching). The Radar also doesn´t seem to be able to retain locks in stupid conditions way out of gimbal anymore, doesn´t drop locks on minor rolls, etc. Every time I dropped a lock, it was something logical, like my target being below me with ground closeby and pulling into the notch. The only downside is going to be learning how to gun with it, as it´s gun-snake only reticule needs some adjusting to, even with the Radar-range indicator giving you the lead point, it is all very delayed and requires a solid track for a couple seconds to be stable and accurate. Compared to the FC3 CCIP reticules, very hard to use, but rewarding to pull off a gunkill. Air to ground is still a bit off, the Radar-slant ranging and radar altimeter triangulation reticules used for ballistic weapons (gun, rockets, bombs) is not 100% accurate, but this could either be because I employ faulty procedures or because that´s how it is in the jet...this isn´t an A-10 after all. Compared to the always 100% accurate impact point calculations for the FC-3 aircraft, once you know where to aim and when to fire, it´s not too bad. Just don´t expect to drop single bombs straight on target without atleast some training. I´d suggest dropping multiple bombs anyway. In terms of weaponry, I am still looking forward to the Belougas working as they should, and the implementation of BAP-100/BAT-120 anti-runway/anti-tank weapons, and I am kinda miffed we don´t get the capability to drop larger than 500lbs Mk82s apart from the GBU-16 and 24 that can be slung on the centerline. In my opinion, coming from someone with no knowledge of the Mirage 2000 C and only a generous theoretical knowledge of air-combat technology, it atleast all "feels" complete. Minor tweaking aside, of course, nothing is evidently broken like how it used to be when it first came out where 50% of the jet was missing and the weapons performed like arse. Overall, RAZBAM has done a phenomenal job and I can only see them improving in the future. They have a very interesting stable of aircraft planned and if they continue the level of quality set with their first DCS outing, I am looking happily into the future. Good job, RAZBAM.

Because the F-15 C we currently have is the only F-15 C that was ever made. No, no upgrades and avionic changes where ever made to them. :music_whistling:

It´s not really a fly-by-wire in the traditional sense...the controls might be articulated using digital readouts to hydrolic pumps instead of direct control from the stick, but the system behind it is not 100% care free handling and auto trimming in the Flanker. Within limits, the ACG will not allow you to exceed critical flight envelopes...it´s just that nobody flies within those limits. Ever. The pilot can also overpower them, a feature the soviet pilots specifically requested, because they didn´t actually like the notion of a machine making the decisions for them. So by pressing the wheelbrake, you can pull extra AOA, and by essentially pulling the stick really hard (not simulated) you can also overpower the limiter and tell the plane to pull harder than "recommended". You can also roll and pull at the same time in transsonic speeds at rates which will break your wings off easily...the system does not account for that. You also have to still trim the Flanker for varying flightspeeds, unlike the F-15, which coupled it´s systems with an auto-trim functionality. This is the reason why people assume the F-15s have hands-off fly by wire...it´s trimming for the current attitude and speed automatically. This is the reason why F-15 and Flanker can "depart"...their systems are not actually interfeering too much with the control surfaces. In the Mirage, you can create situations in which your lift is not sufficient and fall...but the system is so busy making millions of tiny adjustments that it feels alot more controlable and stable, and for all accounts and purposes, is "controlled flight"... However, one immediately notices that the Mirage becomes more and more sluggish the slower you fly, and how the ground get´s closer and closer at around 120kts and below, even if you can still pull a turn, you aren´t actually "flying" anymore and will have to eventually gain airspeed. Catch my drift?

Why are prices on Yuplay 2/5 compared to here or Steam?
Chrinik replied to pietpuk's topic in Payment and Activation
Russian gamers inherently don´t have the budgets to spend shittons of money compared to westerners on average...thus, if you want to sell anything there, you gotta have lower prices. It may look like a rip-off to you, but consider this...buying from a local source (if there is one) supports your local economy. Buying cheaper overseas doesn´t. Cigarettes are cheap as shit in Belarus too, I also bet rent is cheaper, aswell as electricity and gas...that´s got nothing to do with anyone "ripping you off"... -
The ER will fly a longer distance in a shorter time. So you should crank to deny the enemy a full range shot anyway.
-
As long as the flight is on it´s own frequency, don´t see why not. Depends on many factors. If radio silence is ordered, obviously not. If you leader is a hardass, also probably not.
-
ED has said multiple times that they are not happy about their missile performance below 40000 feet...
-
That´s probably because the top bar is not "max range"...Raero is typically not shown in DLZs so, depending on launch conditions, the missile can make a couple extra km...especially if the target is head on and not going defensive. A bunch of weapons can be launched sooner then "max range", which is really only optimum range with a higher probability of kill. NEZ is supposedly a range where the pk is highest, doesn´t mean it will hit either. I use this on the SU-25T alot, most of it´s laser guided weaponry can be launched 2 or 3 or more km earlier then indicated...depends on your altitude and speed.

So why did you bring up "Multiplayer Fairness" as the main issue if that´s not the main issue? Either it´s your english, or it´s mine. I´d agree it could be default off, but that wasn´t the discussion I joined, you were on about exploits and multiplayer and all sorts of reasons, claiming all other discussions are "dancing around the main issue of fairness"...and I´m sorry, but that´s a load of crap. Good to see you are moving to more sensible arguments now.
-
You mean what-if equipments like the KH-66 GROM on MiG-21 or the ability to change the GBU Lasercode from the Cockpit in the A-10C, and other such features that provide clear advantages to the user of said product? I don´t see the threads attempting to stop those "features" anywhere. This argument is nothing new. Nobody is adding "what if" features because someone else did...
-
He was referencing a possible speed limit the devs imposed on the FBW.
-
No, multiplayer is small because most people never touch it. There is a destinct statistical difference between MP and SP, as most people, people who aren´t even registered on the forum, use DCS as a toybox to fly around in and have fun. People still fly FC1 and 2 ffs. No, you confuse DCS with some other thing entirely. What do you think happens when the F-18 drops? It´s capabilities far outmatch any other jet in the sim by far, so do you think that´s "fair"? No. You can´t talk about "fairness" at all. Interesting that you assume I had a position on it being ON or OFF by default. I don´t seem to recall making a statement in that direction at all. I seemed to have been focused on some bullcrap multiplayer fairness argument...that´s a strawman argument if I´ve ever seen one. I also like the fact you assume I want to exploit the system, or that I want it in the first place...I couldn´t care less. Off, on, doesn´t matter to me, this wasn´t the point of my argument and you KNOW it, because if it was, I WOULD HAVE MADE MENTION OF THAT! And I damn well hate the fact you put words in my mouth and assume stuff I have never said. So please, have some god damned respect and stop making up strawmen. My position on the D²M is that I flew the Mirage without before and back when it was up in the air if it was coming or not I didn´t care if it wasn´t. So FXXX off with your assumptions about my position on the matter. There is no logic in that...because you made that argument up again. I never made that claim. And I am not a mission designer, I don´t care how much extra work they have to put in, that wasn´t my point and that is a different discussion altogether that I didn´t partake in. It is the same to me. I never argued otherwise. I am argueing with you because you are overreacting, misrepresenting it´s capabilities because you fear it might not be fair to you. I don´t even know where you are going with that anymore. I´d suggest keeping your responses limited to things I said, and not stuff you made up in your head about me. I called your fairness argument out because it´s more nebulous then the actual arguments wether it should be on or off by default, or wether it was actually on the aircraft. THOSE arguments have weight and meaning, "fairness" is a bullcrap argument.

Overclocking his GPU does not give him more VRAM, it might reduce the amount of VRAM needed but if it´s overflowing too badly, no amount of overclocking is gonna help him. The 750TI is available in 1GB, 2GB and 4GB VRAM versions, so if you got either the latter two, you are already better off then him.

Guys...if ED had to check if the flight model of the module is accurate aswell as all the other quality checks they have to do, they would get nothing done. What´s the point in TWO independent teams doing the same research twice just to get a module out the door? I trust in the larger community to spot inconsistencies and point them out to the developer. Larger sample size and gets the dev team working on squashing bugs and making new aircraft WITHOUT us having to wait another half a year for ED to cross reference check every flightmodel.

Really bad performance when NOT tabbed out
Chrinik replied to Chrinik's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Added mainboard. Well, Track IR works fine when the game is in the background, control devices are also not "disabled" their input is however used in the foreground application, like your mouse and keyboard. If your HOTAS is not used to control something in your browser, tabbing out to your browser will not make you notice your device is still registering, because it doesn´t do anything. Used to have issues with joysticks interfering in unity games. -
So I recently read on the facebook page about an issue someone has regarding his tripple monitor setup where it suddenly started to become all choppy and dip into horrible framerates, but would magically run fine when he Alt-tabs out and has something else on the screen. As I thought the issue is with his multi-monitor setup, I paid it little attention. But now it seems to have hit me. I run on 25fps max, if I tab out and have the game running in the background, it´s fine, buttery smooth 80-140 depending on location. This has not occured yesterday. Systemspecs even tho they don´t really matter: Gigabyte z170X-UD3 i7-6700K at 4.5Ghz Gainward GTX 1080 GLH Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB DDR4 RAM Windows 10 Professional 64 bit Monitor: ASUS ROG PG348Q WQHD I do have a second monitor, but it is not running DCS at all. POTENTIAL FIX/WORKAROUND: So I just thought it was some sort of fullscreen/windowed issue, even tho I checked the box, tested, unchecked, tested and found no change. Pressing Alt+Enter however, brought my frames back to their glory.

This seems more like this is dancing around the issue then any actual discussion about if it was used or not. There are several reasons why Multiplayer is a bullshit arguement for anything. reason zero: should we discount everyone who sit´s in an FC3 F-15C slinging Amraams? It´s the ultimate easy-mode plane and half it´s systems either don´t work, or don´t work to spec and are thus cheating. Same with most other FC3 planes. A: Multiplayer doesn´t mean jack, it´s one of the smallest parts of DCS statistically. B: Multiplayer fairness does not exist. C: The system, if it works as it should, will barely warn you of anything launched in normal combat perimeters. D: The Mirage is gimped in BVR like no other 4th gen in the sim, if it´s true fairness you want, same plane on both sides is the only way to archieve it. So what if it has a very simplistic and restricted launch warner? You treat it like it´s the MWS system in the A-10C, which is known to not work to spec. Assymetric balance is much harder to archieve and needs a mission designer who knows virtually every planes capabilities inside and out so he can weigh the pros and cons against each other.

About competition (a 'dear Leatherneck')
Chrinik replied to scaflight's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Good, we´d need atleast three variants to get the most out of it... -
2016 Hardware Benchmark - DCS World 1.5.x
Chrinik replied to tiborrr's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
If given the track I could give numbers for a 6700K running at 4.5Ghz and a Gainward GTX 1080... -
Use RS, TAS is not accurate at the moment. And drop more then one. They sadly still feature the standard shotgun pattern and probably the warheads of the Mk.20... And cluster bombs typically have reduced number of bomblets for performance reasons.

Jo, ich hab Urlaub und das liegt ja fast neben dem Kilimanjaro, da find ich also auch hin XD Lass ich mich auch mal wieder blicken. Also 18:30 vorher da treffen, ja? Muss ja dem Shagrat noch beibringen, die die Laserrangefinder und Autoelevation features von Combined arms funktionieren, nachdem ich jetzt nochmal geprüft hab, das es sie immer noch gibt XD
