  1. It´s not 2.1...it´s the deffered shader. Turning it off removes all issues with lighting. ED knows this and is working on it...
  2. These are the training missions...they are just very high level ones because you are playing a training campaign for "advanced" pilots, not "basic" ones.
  3. It´s also not on the left side panel, it´s on the right, right above the counter meassure program selector.
  4. Is this still supported? If yes: The radar altitude bar is not shown, giving you no idication at which angle your radar is looking up or down. IFF information is also not showing. This is for bicolor version using JSGME.
  5. Very exited for the list of weapons and the possibility of the APKWS, it´s going to add a ton of capability and will probably be a favorite weapon for many. Being able to precision guide HEAT rockets into APCs and soft targets, and carrying tons of them, is going to be very deadly indeed. And it shouldn´t be too hard apart from the model...I mean code wise, since the needed mechanics are already in the sim. But don´t quote me on it.
  6. I was referring to ED "pushing their store" by having better and more frequent sales and bundles, bonus point system, more products and early access beta modules, not that this current issue is a move by them to push it. They´d definately want people to purchase directly through them, what company wouldn´t?
  7. Well...the only one losing would be ED tho, as Valve takes a cut from everything. That is why they are pushing their own proprietary e-shop, no third parties taking money. I used to make the argument "get the standalone and enjoy twice the sales", but can´t anymore. I switched to standalone a while ago...I still don´t know if it was a valve requirement or an ED decision, yet I think negatively about it.
  8. Sad, but understandable. Farewell.

I wonder if the french system uses the same symbols and has the same library as US systems. Because that´s what you are all comparing it too... I mean, the gazelle has a different RWR symbology. And I´m not saying it wouldn´t make sense for them to use the same symbology...but we are talking about the french here XD
  10. Your wish is my command, skipper:
  11. Yeah, the last couple got APG-70s, then they rolled out the much improved 63(v1) and put that into them. USAF got about 180 of them, 18 of the (v2) AESA variant, and unknown (v3)... I think that´s how it went...But didn´t they put the APG-63(v1) into the ones that had still 63s at a higher priority? Or have they replaced all of them by now. I just mentioned it because it was the first one to have NCTR, was rolled out with the MSIP program first. This would be much easier if we have the nice Block designations, or the russian "let´s change the letter whenever we change anything" systems, but unfortunately, McD/D didn´t roll that way, and whenever a decent update rolled around, most of the existing F-15Cs were just upgraded to that new standard, no matter when build.
  12. http://www.joebaugher.com/usaf_fighters/f15_25.html "A new multi-function display armament control panel was introduced." Don´t know if I am interpreting this wrong. All mentionings of "Fighter Data Link" refer to the MIDS variant for use in the F-15, and all fiscal reports start mentioning those around 2001. And while operational status was granted, I read procurement did favor the Strike Eagle over the regular Eagle, and bugs in the system were worked out before they gave it to the Fighter Eagles, who were competent without the system for a while. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/budget/fy2003/dod-peds/0604771D8Z.pdf http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/budget/fy2001/dot-e/airforce/01fdl.html "The host platforms for the FDL are the ANG F-15A/B and USAF F-15C/D/E fighters. Initial Operational Test and Evaluation (IOT&E) was completed in FY00 and an Follow-On Test and Evaluation (FOT&E) was completed in FY01. The FDL was found to be operationally effective and suitable and it has been fielded to operational squadrons." But yeah, I would concur that it is 2000ish...
  13. Incorrect. They entered service in the late 80ies. But how did this become a discussion about R27s again in a thread about Mirage?
  14. Which is funny, because as soon as you have unbalanced scenarios in, let´s say 104th (the mission where Flankers get ERs and F-15s get Aim-7s), then everyone suddenly f***s off and does something else. Seems like this whole notion of "Balance means nothing and it´s pointless" only applies when the own side is the one with the advantage and everyone else should just suck it up. Assymetric balance is archievable and is prevelant everywhere, chess is unbalanced, since one side always goes first, which is why the choice of side in competition comes down to a coinflip, because entire strategies have been made around this fact. Yet, noone would be inane enough to call chess "unfair" because of it. You can have one coalition in DCS ticked out with the best gear imaginable and still make it fun for the opposition, you just gotta come up with ideas to make it harder for their enemy. For example having to fly farther and farther from safe bases to deeper targets as the round goes on, having to go up against heavier defences, having a limited supply of tools available. etc. It´s all doable, it won´t be "balanced", but it will be fair and fun for both sides. And that´s the point. People who just want to slaughter stuff with their superiour airframe should stick to AI, honestly, unless they are willing to stomach the fact that sometimes, adaptations need to be made to make sure they actually have people to fly against.
  15. Maybe, if they find the time, they could do something similar to the BK90, with the container just being a dummy model that drops to the ground, and then bomblets appear out of thin air in the desired pattern...It wouldn´t look nice, but would be more functional. But I wouldn´t consider it a high priority. Why must it be? The Belouga bomblet is a huge chaped charge that hits from the top...it´s pretty deadly. Viggen is also a ground attack aircraft, Mirage 2000C is not...thus Mirage may have less functionality than a dedicated ground attacker. I also presume the D and N Mirages have more functionality in terms of ground attack. So one should not compare different aircraft.
  16. People who joined BlueFlag for realism just
  17. 3.5.? Mittwoch? Ich hab das darauffolgende Wochenende frei...
  18. In reality not even NATO allies can necessarily IFF each other since each country can operate their own codes which they don´t share. The current system only checks your coalition.
  19. You didn´t. But I won´t explain the joke. I also never complained. But to reiterate the joke: And to think that doing high G barrel rolls does not give you a significant advantage in combat when it is literally the way to go to dodge ED missiles is hillarious. You see it all the time, with bags, with spikes up to 23Gs for whatever reason (be it lag or whatever you want to excuse it as), and you guys shrug saying "it can´t be used to your advantage so it doesn´t matter". Every missile dodged in this video was dodged in the same manner. But yeah, sure, can´t be used. Not an advantage. Insignificant. Whatever you say. Just thought of another one: I´m just making sarcastic observations about the rethoric in this thread, man...no need to get all fanboy at me.
  20. This thread in a nutshell :megalol:
  21. People expecting autocannons to be magical sniper rifles from 2 or 3 km out... Slow rate of fire does work, as it reduces the amount of vibration. But don´t expect balistic miracles, the gun has a set MOA accuracy, which is pretty high (atleast compared to contemporary attack helicopters such as the Apache), but 2-3km is a long ways out for a autocannon... Get closer. It has a rated "effective range" of 1500m against light armor. Just because you can use it up to 4000m on unarmored targets (by saturation with HE rounds) doesn´t mean you should at all times.
  22. Negative, the first F-15s to get functional DL capabilities were Strike Eagles in 2001 to communicate with Navy Hornets and the system sucked balls from what reports I read and was very basic. The F-15Cs followed much later. DL was not part of the MSIP II upgrade package that we have in game. The MSIP II upgrade took a while for the whole fleet, so assume a mid-90ies Eagle. Technically the F-15 in the game should have the APG-70 radar, which was the first upgrade to the APG 63 and was fitted to all F-15Cs and Ds with MSIP, it had ground mapping and everything. You guys don´t want the original APG-63...the original APG-63 was a piece of shit with a MTBF of 15 hours<.< Most of the upgrades for the APG-63 thus focused on making it more reliable along with more capable. The APG-63(v1) came in 2001 aswell. Really nailing down what kind of era Eagle we have is hard, as the general name "F-15C" stayed consistent to this day. My reasoning is that the MSIP II upgrade put the MFCD in and added Amraam compatibility, APG-70 with NCTR among other things, so that´s my first going off point. The next is the introduction date of the AIM-120 C in 1996, which is why my absolute best estimates place it roughly between that and before 2001, as other upgrades would have been done then. The game keeps referring to the APG-63 aswell, confusing matters even more. If we do indeed have one of the Eagles that recieved MSIP and retained the APG-63 it would narrow it down further...but would also make little sense as the Eagle in game very clearly has NCTR. If it is a post 2001 Eagle, then other stuff is missing.
  23. The devs told me personally in a different thread that BAP-100 and BAT-120 are on the list of weapons to be added. When....I dunno :dunno:
  24. The last part is weird...I always take off with NWS on at all times and I experience zero pull to the left at all, I never did, even when it first came up. Here you can see not only do I do a rolling takeoff right out of a turn, it also goes absolutely straight down the runway. This is latest 1.56 stable. Is this a specific version, like 2.0 or also in 1.56?
  25. Well, he isn´t looking to buy a real Mirage 2000 C, now is he? And if the target is close enough, no extra fuel bags are needed, you can comfortably stay airborne for quite a while on your internal tank if you don´t burn like an idiot all the time, so...
