Or maybe we shouldn´t think of DCS as a purely competitive PVP Multiplayer experience and acknowledge that 80-90% of the people that drop money on this will not ever go up against another player and enjoy it purely SP and COOP? If someone drops 4 F-14s on both sides of their Server, noones gonna care anyway. And the way you chicas fly in this sim will devalue the F-14 tremendously anyway. The AWG-9 might be awesome, but it still doesn´t use X-ray vision to see through mountains, it´s going to have trouble with jammers, and it´s going to have trouble with ground clutter, so what´s the difference gonna be to all you lawnmowers?

It´s exactly the other way around...as soon as you start asking for money for a product, you are subject to a whole lot of legal nonsense what you can and can´t do. If you make a free "interpretation" of an aircraft, you can almost do whatever you want with it. If you charge, there are legal reasons for copyright and IP, as you could be profiting from someone elses work. (Designers, Planners, Aviation Companies, Engineers etc.) Ontop of that is the possible "security" concerns, by letting the average joe in on "military secrets"...it is thus more likely to make modules of "Out of service" planes. You can make contracts with the militaries, which VEAO and ED had done, to get around this, but not everyone can. This is why there is so many WW2 sims...easily available information, no red tape, no licence holders care. So it get´s trickier, actually. And no, I don´t believe any of the developers are "Full Time"...the amount and frequency of sales wouldn´t sustain a team´s salary for long. Developers also have lives and need food and housing...

So that you know that this JTAC is not using 1688 so you don´t need to haul GBUs with the Mirage to that JTAC. That´s what you need to remember the code for. Muss man dir alles vorkauen?

So I took some minor combat damage today, landed, and repaired. Part of the combat damage was my RWR taking a hit and refusing to work. After the repair, it still refused to work. So I had a friendly strafe me again to force another repair and shut the aircraft down completely. Still no good. RWR and D²M lamp just blinking. Switches were in middle position. Had to spawn in a new aircraft. Don´t know if that one has been reported. I think I have a video if required.

I don´t even understand the question.
-
No....but you should use Snakeeyes for that anyway.
-
I always loved the look of Snakeeyes deploying, the Mk.82AIR will never come close.

Beruhig dich erstmal, meine Fresse. Deine Meinung ist hier nicht Gott. You are on a PUBLIC forum, made a PUBLIC Discussion thread. People are allowed to talk and you are not the StaSi that can prevent people from talking by throwing them into jail. "I brought a solution." Your solution sucks and people don´t want it. Now :blow: off. Get an A-10 to lase for you, or remember the code for the next time. "In real life" you would tell the JTAC to change to your frequency or he will get no bomb. Problem solved. RAZBAM doens´t need to make the aircraft less accurate because you can´t be arsed to follow procedures. A work around or compromise is needed for when there is no solution to a problem. Your "problem" is working as intended, so no fix is required.. Otherwise, if you want to change the laser code mid-flight on a Mirage-2000C, try this: Open Canopy. Climb on your Wing. Reach under your fuselage. Set Lasercode.

You expecting something different? It´s TWS, not STT. The Radar is only "remembering" where the target was and where it was going, and only updates when the Radar actually sweeps over it again, which can take a couple seconds. If it didn´t find it again because of Radar related reasons, it drops the contact. Now, wether or not the Radar SHOULD detect the contact is a different topic. But that would have to be judged by looking at the cases to weed out the instances in which it made sense to lose the contact and the pilot just doesn´t know it´s supposed to do that because he´s used to the F-15. XD

Just wanted to get an info wether they are planning to make french weaponry besides the Belouga and BAP-100. Don´t get your knickers in a twist. I already mentioned that they probably focus on systems first, weapons later. "Unusuable"...try RS mode WITH active Radar Altimeter then if you know TAS is bugged. I get bombs on target, so I wouldn´t know about this "unusable" feature you talk about. The Belouga would also help alot, since it´s deployment profile wouldn´t need accurate drops. And the M-2000C was always a Fighter first. That´s what the C stands for, if you want Multirole, that would be the D.
-
Okay, nice to know.
-
No, I´m not going to ask for the ARMAT. Instead, I´m asking if RAZBAM (praised be their name and strong be their coffee) is planning to add the full list of unguided air to ground weapons the 2000C should probably be able to carry. I heard the Mk20 are just a stand in for the Belougas, which would be nice to have. BAP-100 and BAT-120 would also be cool. And the french 100, 250 and 400kg bombs would be nice. It can apparently carry 18 of those french 250kg bombs? But just having the 400kg bombs would be nice aswell. So, what´s RAZBAMs plan? I assume the aircraft and related systems need to be atleast properly done until they can work on new 3D models and stuff for weapons, just interested to know if they still intend to do them. And out of curiousity, how come we can´t carry GBU-12s on the wing pylons at all? That would be all.
-
That´s what he meant...
-
I would, pipedreams and false hopes are rediculous.

Okay, to stop confusion. The A-G weapons computer is severely limited (this being a fighter and all), and can only load one ballistics profile outside of the gun. This is why the manual recommends not using two different weapons (Rockets and bombs, or two different kind of bombs.) Similarly, it only has ONE attack profile stored for each weapon, based on most likely intended use. Low-drag bombs and clusters are likely to be deployed from low altitude at high speed, so CCIP. High drag bombs are likely to be deployed in level flight, so CCRP (which, incidentally, can also be used in a dive). So no, the jet is capable of CCIP, but not with low drag bombs because reasons.

That´s very unfortunate. I would have liked another plane (a fighter, even) with the capability to be warned about IR missiles, even if it´s just useful sometimes (A2G, Dogfights), but if it didn´t come to be, it didn´t come to be. I mean, we already have a hybrid version with the 4 Magics (I think) but alas. So you´d rather hear about that instead? Also, blue on blue doesn´t count XD

Oh my god, devs can work on multiple things at the same time and release them in any state of readyness as desired, it´s not like a coder who currently squashes bugs for the Mirage has to work on the model and texturing for a Phantom or Harrier...:noexpression: In fact, that´s what they are doing right now. The Harrier and Tucano modules are being modeled and textured, that´s completely seperate from the Mirage bug squatting.

UH-1H not recognizing TrackIR but all other Mods do

So why is this in the Warthog section of the Forum? -
Hatte mich ja auch mal eingetragen, sieht wohl so aus, als ob die meißten am 4ten Oktober können, oder irre ich mich?

Okay, explaining mode engaged. Reading more about the plans regarding the D²M system, we might not get it at all, and it apparently is a system designed against MANPADs (although I don´t know why it wouldn´t detect a much bigger missile launch below your plane, as it probably detects the engine exhaust), so let´s take that out of the equasion for now... The R-27R in DCS is notoriously bad at ECCM and prone to eat chaff like candy. It´s become better recently, with an update fixing a bug that allowed it to see chaff it shouldn´t be able to see, but it´s still a very easy to spoof missile. The effective launch ranges from my experience flying 80ies loadouts are about 20km for a head on-high speed- medium altitude (15000 feet), and about 10km for optimal PK (probability of kill). The effective launch ranges for a Super530D is roughly 13 nautical miles and 8 nautical miles respectively. The R-27R has been designed to shoot down fighters. The 530D has been designed to shoot bombers, so it´s got a massive warhead, hence alot of weight, and is not very maneuverable at lower speeds, keep that in mind. These are variables, they change depending on closurerate, altitudes etc, but just to have a ballpark. The way I go about air combat is that I first, find the bandit and IFF it. Next, I lock him in TWS and then crank the bandit (meaning you put him on the left or right edge of your RADAR scan zone. This effectively shortens his maximum range and puts you into a good position to lag-defend (dragging his missile out) should the need arise. Be aware that your TWS does not warn him that you got him locked, but still displays you launch ranges for a better judgement of when to engage. Let´s say we are cranking left, putting him at the right most edge of the RADAR scan zone. You crank for as long as you feel comfortable. I tend to crank anywhere between maximum launch range and NEZ(no escape zone), but it doesn´t matter much as the numbers are only viable for a shot from this position, which is about 60° off of your nose. Then the magic happens, you pull into the bandit, and when your nose is on the intercept marker (or on him when he flies straight at you), you fire the first 530. Note how your Launch Zones increase as you reduce the amount by which the missile has to turn off your wing to hit, bleeding energy. This should put him well into NEZ, but it will give your missile a higher PK regardless. You then crank into the opposite direction, right in this case, and put him into the leftmost edge of your Radar to reduce closure rate and maintain the lock. He will get a warning by this point, as your RADAR switched to STT(single target track) automatically to guide your missile. So he will probably defend. Depending on his behaviour I do either one of three things: 1. he didn´t launch yet and breaks hard into the defence = Maintain pursuit, he is at the disadvantage now as he can´t guide weapons, press the advantage by getting as close to him as possible. When he turns hot on you again, launch again. Force him defensive again or make him eat your missile to get a shot on you. Crank if he stays hot for a couple seconds (as he might launch) and get your Magics ready, as the fight is about out of BVR and straight into the merge. Press the RADAR Slave button to lock your Magic seeker on his Radar returns. Wait for your missile to impact or fire a Magic when in range, if he launches, defend, you are now in a Dogfight. 2: He stays hot and tries to get his weapon off. Well, no problem, your missile is kinematically superiour and will reach him before his reaches you, so the lock will be lost as he will die and he will run right into your missile, keep changing the crank and fire a second shot as desired. Release countermeasures as needed. 3: he launches on me and pulls into the crank. Damn, now I gotta guide my missile and watch out for his. Keep snaking from one crank to the other and throw in a couple lag-rolls to drag his missile out of energy, make sure you don´t do anything crazy to maintain lock on him. Release countermeassures as desired. Your first missile is probably trashed, so get ready to crank into him again and launch a second one. But generally, until we can get a RWR launch warning, you should fly the Mirage alot more defensively and keep your EYES OUT THE COCKPIT! You got to visually spot the launch so you can appropriately react. This all applies for basic 1 on 1 BVR combat for the planes described above and is by no means everything, but it should give you a scenario to train for and get into the habit off. The rest will come with time. So far I have a perfect track record on the 104th server. 4 Flyouts in the Mirage, 3 Kills, 0 times shot down. That will probably change at some point, and it´s a low number of flyouts, but I´m kinda proud of it XD It´s an interesting experience flying to "survive" rather then just Airquake that stuff, odds be damned. One more thing, if you lose lock after missiles have been exchanged, defend and run. It´s not worth it.

What are you talking about "The sound engine that it would take to accurately sim sound and the Doppler effect is far, far away right now."...have you ever zoomed into or had a helicopter fly by in DCS? Their rotor blade sounds definately experience a frequency and pitch shift.
-
Pulling ranges out of the internet and basing a hypothetical on it doesn´t really work, the numbers you have are quite off. The Mirage would simply Chaff, notch, trash the R-27Rs then fire the 530ies, both flights have the same amount of BVR Missiles (4, in this case)... We can only really talk about DCS, in which you can simply set up that exact scenario and try it out for yourself. The Mirage has a much better Radarsuit and avionics package in general. The 530 has the longer range in game. The MiG-29 might be more dangerous in close combat, as it can pack 2 more heaters and those heaters can be R-73s, which are damn good. It also has (player perspective) a HMS allowing off-boresight capability, the Mirage can slave the seeker to a target, and the Radar allows vertical scan up to 60° off boresight. I´d be more concerned about sneaky R-27T launches, but the D²M system is supposed to warn you about them, aswell as radar missiles RWR warning, I believe.
