I see. Well, one less thing to worry about, I find flying in A-10C quite easy, especially if you're not on the edge of the envelope. Take-offs, landings are not much harder than in FC2 (just remember to disengage nosewheel steering when going faster than taxiing), and basic manoeuvres are also doable with a bit of care. I think now fly better A-10C than Ka-50 after more than a year! I doubt I'll go back to that scary contraption.

I'm asking myself the same question, since I made a couple of really heavy landings, but apart of a bit louder noise and more smoke from the tires at touchdown everything stayed in one piece. Unfortunately I haven't recorded the track to check the vertical speed.

My connection is pretty slow so I had about 5 hours of reading time before game downloaded. I read a good portion of it, I only left out more detailed instructions I knew I wouldn't remember.I printed out Quick Start Guide and several pages from manual, and I'm now slowly making progress. Just now I managed to shut down the engines due to inverted flying for a minute, then I quickly landed on a road with engines off! Perfect landing, but nosewheel steering didn't work at the end, but I still managed to stop before I made a single scratch on a Hog. :) There's still much to learn, though...

Yes. Hell I don't remember where, but it should be similar to Flaming Cliffs 2 / DCS:BS.

i7 920, 2,66 GHz, Asus P5K, 6GB, nVidia GTX470, all stock Water medium, heat blur off, all else high, mirrors off, HDR on, 1920x1200, 4xAA around 60 usually, 20 - 60 when using TGP, explosions give me stops and stutters for a moment the first time they happen. Going to overclock, I had the proc around 4 GHz and GTX470 goes high too.

Looks dead center to me! -
Slowhand, you might research an invention called capital letters or majuscules. ;) But you are right, Thrustmaster's tech support isn't perfect. I got all the parts I ordered, and very quickly (and cheap), but I never got answers to some of my questions. Also, how many companies in this business are without forum? Since Furgal's Cougar World forums went extinct people are asking the same questions again and again on all forums (how to install on Win 7 64 bit, etc). I asked them if they intend to put up a forum, and this was their response: "...we inform you that the Frugal's World website is still active on a different link: http://cougar.flyfoxy.com/ Concerning the creation of a new forum, there isn't anything we could say at the moment. However, we acknowledge the benefits of having a forum and will of course analyze this possibility, as soon as the Hotas Warthog is released." Hm, what's there to analyse? If forums are really worth the effort? I doubt if I would ever buy a Cougar without Cougar's World, and that was years ago. Lack of such support for Warthog isn't something I'm looking forward to.

Bump. Sorry, people usually look only last page. :) Btw, I'm not in any way connected to Thrustmaster / Guillemot, other than being their customer. :P Pasted images from Amazon together. Nice box art, and almost readable. So, another month and a half of waiting... But it looks like it will be worth it. Although I must admit I'm looking forward to try the TARGET on Cougar first.

Project 10 - DCS: A-10C Warthog Promo!
Bwaze replied to Glowing_Amraam's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Great! Nice editing, GA, and DCS looks better than ever! I generally like the "hand-held" look, but some of the clips are a bit too jerky for my taste. Also, for some reason I became allergic to cameras flying around all the time, I guess because Hollywood is overusing them. :P 1:43 - is the shimmering air above tarmac an after effect or in game? 5:00 - you can see the sun flare polygon's edge, I think -
Great video, although it covers a process we have seen before. :) An observation though - the YouTube notes on the Wags' second video were really useful. It would be really helpful if buttons and gauges would show up their tips when they are highlighted (an option that could be turned off).

Here's the timeline at the end of the article: http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/a-highertech-hog-the-a10c-pe-program-03187/ We're really getting a brand new plane! :D

Antonov-225 Mriya prototype? -
I think the easiest solution would be a short extender that would go between the stick and the base. I think some PVC tubing has exactly the same diameter and thread (M36, 2mm step) needed to screw it directly between the pieces, and soldering new connectors should be straightforward. I'm sure with teflon tape you could achieve tight fit at any angle of stick you want. And the best thing is the stick would remain unmodified.

I don't think so, I believe all the A-10's in service now have upgraded cockpit, even if they're not completely upgraded to latest A-10C level. Upgrades should be finished in 2012, but I guess now they're only updating the aircraft that were first to receive some of the upgrades.
