Well, I was on the brink of ordering a CH Fighterstick with Pro Pedals but after the recent G940 update I'm now curious as to just how good the stick is. Maybe a poll will bring some clarity. PS. Please don't vote prematurely and ensure you've experimented with the various settings before passing judgement.

I prefer side dependant. Before I used to install Russian language into my English copy. Now I won't have to faff about doing this. With the subtitles and tool tips, it's really not so difficult. I'm also learning Russian. :smartass:

I've put Black Shark on hold until I get a good controller. I was playing with limited sucess using a dual analogue gamepad. Now I've decided to save the whole experience until I have the right tools. Would be nice to hear from Logitech_Mark again to see what's happening in the background with firmware/development of this product. I'm sure there's many other borderline customers like me that just need that little bit of reassurance on this one.

Yeah, the sound you've been thinking is normal annoys me greatly. When you hear the loud sound, you're flying without ear defence. It's the first thing I'd choose to have fixed but for some reason it wasn't a priority with 1.01. And use the flipping search function! ...haha, just kidding. Always wanted to say that.

Cheating? Who would want to cheat, what possible fun could you have? Kids cheat console games, I can't imagine what satisfaction you would get from say being invincible or having unlimited ammo. I only started multiplayer recently and have played perhaps a handful of times. Impressions are that although it's fun, I've seen no real intereaction between pilots. People appear to just take off and do there own thing. Perhaps if you were limited to joining a flight only before mission start. And if you crash or are shot down, you must wait for all players to fail or succeed. This would make those rubbish players practice harder before joining difficult online games, players would fly more cautiously, and also the flight groups would all start on the pad at the same time so more communication and interaction. Also, why is there no voice chat between pilots? My ` key doesn't start text chat either, even though the key is working. This is same as my default radio comms key \ which I also had to rebind.

As much as I enjoy helicopters, perhaps the only way for ED to please both crowds here, is to alternate. Rotary, fixed wing, rotary, fixed wing... And also alternate eastern, western, eastern, western... Can't be more fair than this. So... it's settled, I will expect to see the Mi24 after A10. No excuses! :D EDIT: Second thoughts this wouldn't work, we'd end up with only eastern choppers and western fixed wing... ok, the new logic then... eastern rotary, western fixed wing, western rotary, eastern fixed wing, eastern rotary, western fixed wing, western rotary... until the end of time.

I have X-Fi Notebook. I tried both of these and neither worked for me. :(

You wouldn't after 1.01. Before this though, I used to do it to get my pointer back in cockpit. I was constantly F2ing twice and ESCing twice. Thanks for the clarity. Is there a known work around without turning my speaker volume down or switching views?

I'm still getting the engine sound bug. Start mission with engines running. Press pause/break to begin. Engine sound is deafening. Press F2 twice and it becomes quiet and muffled. Also, now press esc twice and again engine sound is deafening (as if outside). I reported this in a general discussion thread, however some claim not to be experiencing this. I'm using a Creative X-Fi Notebook chip. Can others confirm this and is there a quick fix as it's annoying as hell.

I can confirm for me this is NOT fixed and I have no mods installed. Start a mission with engines running, sound is loud (as should be in external view). Press F2 twice to go outside then back into cockpit, and the sound is muffled as it should be. Now... press esc twice whilst in cockpit and the sound is deafening again. Gutted. Can I ask nicely, any chance of a hotfix for this? Not sure I can bare another three or four month wait. :D

Really? How can this be? So many intricate subtle details that can often go un-noticed corrected, yet this simple obtrusive thing that annoys us all on every single mission start has been left?? I hope not. Big thanks for the patch ED, but I'm a little surprised at this. After all, it must be a relatively simple thing for you guys to fix.

With that spec system I think you should be getting much faster speeds, unless you have crazy AA and AF settings. For comparison I have laptop with a 2.5GHz Core Duo, 4GB RAM and a 512MB 9800GTS video card and with maximum (in game) settings and 1920x1200 resolution my FPS will fluctuate between 30 and 50. It sounds to me like your system isn't in tiptop health. When I was tweaking. I found water detail and maximum visibiltiy had a big impact. More so than say difference between 2xAA and 4xAA. Also, resolution changes didn't appear to affect much. And so have these 2 settings on 'normal' and 'medium' to keep things speeding along. Hope this helps.

I've been unable to get this to work with Vista 64. More specifically, the Virtual Joystick driver won't install because it is unsigned. It would be possible to use the software to emulate mouse look, and zoom but haven't got round to setting this up yet. For now, I will wait out for the DCS patch (to implement the mouse look properly) and the next version of Cachya.

They had issues with their ISP. It seems to be fixed now though as I registered my copy successfully this afternoon.

Anyone got Cachya working with BS and Vista 64? The 6DOF demo in the config screen is working great, however when I load up BS there is no Cachya virtual joystick. Is there still an issue with the 64 bit driver in 2.1 beta?
