Bug Repot: Mission 3 - Wrong aircraft
BritTorrent replied to BritTorrent's topic in Mi-8MTV2 The Border Campaign
Ok I'll try a repair and then do some further testing tonight, if it's still happening I'll get a track to show you. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk -
Mission 3 "Ordinary Job" is bugged. You're supposed to start from FOB Podkova but the mission actually starts you as a USA Mi-8 from Tiblisi airport!

Hi all, Quick question regarding Mi-8 comms. How can we set it up so we can easily communicate between two parties? As far as I can see, the two radios that are setup for two-way external communications are the R-863 and the YaDRO-1A. The trouble is I don't see a way to communicate on one radio whilst monitoring the other radio. Ideally I'd like to have the YaDRO-1A setup for inter-flight comms and the R-863 for communicating with external frequencies like the tower and other flights. But as far as I'm aware, if you change the rotary selector on the SPU-7 to one radio or the other, it stops monitoring the other radio. So for example, if I wanted to get a brief from some ground troops about a CAS mission, and then relay that brief to my wingman, I'd have to speak to the ground controller on the R-863 and then switch to the YaDRO to tell my wingman. Obviously whilst I'm on the radio to one party, the other party can't communicate with me. Is there a way around this that I'm missing? Or is this just a limitation of the airframe? Does anybody have any ideas how they'd have got around this limitation in real life, or would it entail both members of the flight switching frequency to remain up to date with information. How to have a group appear in one of a number of random places?
BritTorrent replied to BritTorrent's topic in Mission Editor
Thanks for the quick responses guys, really helpful! -
Hi all, I'm wanting to setup a mission where the player is searching for an enemy artillery unit over a wide area, and I want it to be randomised so they're not always in the same place. Is there a way to set this up using triggers? I haven't really delved into the scripting engine yet because I'm not really clued up on lua, but I'm used to using triggers to setup fairly complex scenarios. I was thinking of maybe creating multiple groups in different locations, and then some sort of trigger to make sure only one of them appears, but I can't see a simple way to do that. Failing that, is this something that's possible with one of the big scripting expansions like MIST or MOOSE? If needs be I'm willing to look into those and see how to set them up. Target Of Opportunity mode (TOO) behavior incorrect

For what it's worth, I did post this again in the bugs section but nobody from RAZBAM has acknowledged it. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk -

Does anybody from RAZBAM even look at these threads? It certainly doesn't feel like it. We haven't even had an acknowledgement that this bug still exists. -
To any of the ED guys, are there any plans to implement additional parking slots on the new Carrier? At the moment we're quite restricted to how many aircraft can launch from the carrier (8 at the most, and 4 of those need to be catapult starts) and it's a bit of a pain for building missions. It'd be nice to be able to create a full alpha strike scenario.

Any news on the full Viggen campaign?
BritTorrent replied to BritTorrent's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Excellent, looking forwards to it! Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk -
You're displaying a bit of an America-centric view here. The Tomcat is one of the most iconic aircraft for Americans perhaps, but not the rest of the world. Russian people would likely choose a Russian aircraft, European people a European aircraft etc etc. I've no doubt that the Viggen is more popular in certain parts of the world than the Tomcat is. And I'm struggling to think of what aircraft in DCS could be classed as obscure? Certainly not a significant percentage, most of the aircraft we have were/are iconic in their own right. You should post this in the bugs section. Not that they're really checking that, but it's worth a shot.

A quick question for all the HB team, is there any update on the progress of the full Viggen campaign? Are we still waiting on completion of the AI Draken Module? Me and a friend flew the mini-campaign together and we really enjoyed it, one of the more immersive campaigns I've flown in DCS. I'm really looking forward to more. Snoopy, do you guys ever plan on releasing the PG ones to the public? Me and my friends use your Nevada ones all the time, we really enjoy your work.

Target Of Opportunity mode (TOO) behavior incorrect
BritTorrent replied to BritTorrent's topic in Resolved Bugs
Yeah I tested this today, still not resolved. It still creates the target point at the altitude of the aircraft, not the ground. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk -
Excellent work, can't wait to try this out. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk

Why even publish the changelog if they know the fixes aren't in the build? Does nobody at RAZBAM test the build they're about to put out? This isn't the first time this has happened. It's a bit ridiculous.

** F-14 Development Update: December 2018 **
BritTorrent replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Thanks for the update Cobra, and the rest of the HB team. Rest assured that the moaning and whinging about release dates comes from a vocal minority of the user base. The majority of us are more than happy to wait a few more months if it means us getting a better product on release. Spend as much time as you need to get it to a level where you're proud to release it, this is your guys' baby after all. And to be honest, it's probably better being released after Christmas anyway. You don't want to be spending your Christmas break dealing with bug reports and missing features. You all deserve a break just like everyone else. Keep up the good work. The last time Prowler spoke about this he said the Harrier would be finished by the end of the year so...watch this space. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk

That's a crying shame, your videos were great and were a valuable contribution to the community. I'm sorry you've had to deal with this, there's always that one group of arseholes who ruin it for everyone else. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk

Thanks for this, we appreciate you crunching your way through the outstanding bugs. Can't be an easy task! Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk

That looks like an LHD to me and not an LHA like we have in DCS. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
