What exactly are we looking at here? Is this one of the target ranges in the NTTR?

Wow, this is a really complex aircraft. I can see now how it was considered so far ahead of it's time. -

Later in the manual it goes on to say it is relatively high-bypass for a fighter engine. -

Tack så mycket! -
As has already been stated, what's giving you away is your rotor disc. Your fuselage might be stationary but your rotor disc is moving at high speed. Realistically, helicopters would never be sent into a situation where you didn't already have air superiority. Because they're extremely vulnerable to enemy fighters and SAM's. In game, your best bet is to use terrain masking or hiding behind buildings to avoid detection. But in general, if there's enemy fighters about, your chances of survival are pretty slim.

That was an interesting read! You got a source for this?

Understood, thanks for the response!

Cobra, this all looks great. I really like the CRT effect on the radar screen. Awesome job! Regarding the terrain avoidance mode, particularly in this picture. I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking at. The darker areas are terrain that's directly in front of your aircraft? Does this mean that in effect, if anything shows up on your scope in terrain avoidance mode it means there's something in your flight path? The goal should be to have a totally clear scope?

If you remove the external weapon hardpoints in the mission editor, the Mi-8 will spawn without the gunsight at all.

Hi All, Just wondering if anybody has any Fuel Performance charts for the M2000C ? Something that shows things like; - Optimum cruise speeds/altitudes for fuel efficiency. - Optimum climb profiles. - Expected fuel burn at various altitudes/weights etc. - Recommended minimum fuel. - Expected fuel burn on take off, full burn vs mil power etc. Essentially I'd like to be able to plan full mission from scratch including expected fuel consumption, to make sure I set correct Bingo and Joker fuel levels. Does anything like this exist? Even if it's in French I can work around that. Also, is this something we could expect to see in the DCS Mirage manual when it enters full release? Thanks in advance for any help. BritTorrent

Great news Starway. I feel like the $10 price will feel much more fair to a lot of people and I imagine you'll sell more as a result. Looking forward to it. -

Just wanted to say a quick thank you to Wags and Steve for this campaign. It's easily the most immersive single player experience I've had in a flight sim, and I'm only 4 missions in. The way the campaign is written, along with the detailed briefings and the real life NTTR terrain really helps you to get your head in the game so to speak. You really feel like you're part of the Red Flag experience. The guided tour of the exercise area helps you to visualise where everything is in relation to you. The sheer amount of stuff up in the air is impressive too. It's an awesome feeling flying up Sally Corridor for a sortie and being able to see the rest of your strike package in the air around you. From my own messing about with the mission editor I know it can be a pain to get the AI to do what you want sometimes, but so far it all appears to be pretty solid. Not much more to say really. If you were at all on the fence about getting this campaign, do it. I guarantee you'll be impressed. There's a few bugs here and there but it looks like Wags and Steve are already on top of them. Keep up the good work guys, looking forward to seeing more from you in future.

Hi all, I'm assuming we've all noticed that the Ka-50 seems to have features enabled for sling loads now? It has bindings for the sling and in the mission editor there's an option for 'rope length'. Has anyone tried to get this up and working yet? Is it even fully implemented? Cheers, Brit

First impressions of 1.5 Beta
BritTorrent replied to Cowboy10uk's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Unbelievable...I can't believe how much of a difference this update has made. I was on the verge of buying a new i5 processor because my performance was so bad before, and now I'm getting 50-60fps on the ground! Sometimes 100+ in the air, even with a lot of stuff going on. It's amazing! And I'm not sacrificing any graphical fidelity to get those frames. The game looks bloody beautiful. Started to notice a few bugs creeping through, but of course that's to be expected and I'm doing my best to isolate the causes and report them in the bug tracker. To all the ED team, you've absolutely outdone yourselves. A huge thank you from me! Well done :) -
