If I understand correctly, we had M-53-5 engine specs, (less thrust than the P2, most notably because the -5 don't have the DSV), and in the future, we will have the P2 version with more thrust and better RPM response ?
-
Thanks for your answer, When I read your ''edit'' note, I understood that our DCS 2000C was equiped with the M-53-5, and the Thales 2000C was equiped with the M-53P2. The main factor that was coming to my mind was engine thrust of course x)
-
Wait, we don't have the M-53P2 in DCS ?

The troll is not ''COMPLETELY'' wrong however, even if I don't agree with him. But going further into this discussion is useless, hope Razbam will learn from their mistakes, that's the most important.

[BUG?] Speed brake and trim operation
Jowen G. Bruère-Dawson replied to Gianky's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi, noticed the same thing 2 days ago. I though I just didn't saw the needles move, but I'll try again to be sure -
Hi guys, Just tested PLAN bombing mode with high drag bombs and it seems that the interval selector is not working. Master Mode on NAV, Waypoint 1 set as target waypoint M1, QFE set, Weapons selector to PLAN, and Weapons sight mode selector set at 10m for the first try (and seems right), on second try, set at 60m, and there is no difference in bombs interval between the two distances settings. Weapons dropped between 100 and 200m. I also tried DYK mode with low drag bombs, distance settings worked fine in those conditions. DCS version : OB 2.5.5.33184. Persian Gulf, quick try in the ME default weather conditions, waypoint placed at the Qeshm Island airport. Can you look at this please ? Thank you.

Nice to see some news ! keep the job going !

Tested last week, and it worked, but it was not under the latest open beta version.

Light (anti-collision / navigation) too weak at "distance"
Jowen G. Bruère-Dawson replied to Mav783's topic in M-2000
Yes, lights are not good, but It's maybe a DCS problem. -

F14B Broken Jester in New Update
Jowen G. Bruère-Dawson replied to CRAZYZOMBITZ's topic in Heatblur Simulations
The F-14 has been updated ? Don't see anything in the Changelog -
Thanks for this communication guys ! really appreciate it. My F-14 will stay in the hangar until fixes. Not a big deal, beta is here for that ! good luck to the team.

I confirm that after cold start, the frontseat TID repeater don't work. I tested in air start and it worked fine. Viper2097, I just took off with a Tomcat loaded with 4 phoenixes, 2 sparrow, 2 sidewinders and 2 external fuel tanks from the Stennis : nothing wrong for me. And all my Phoenix were visible. After such a big changelog, I was sure something gonna be wrong xD. But it's the goal of the Beta version !

with little practice, the Viggen's RWR is pretty good, specialy for 60's technology

Hi, just wanted to give you my 2 cents. It's not the best way but I found it pretty reliable. My most feared targets are not the S-300, but SA-19 and Shilkas. SA-11 are also pretty hard because launchers have their own radar. For the regular SAMs, I choose the pure Viggen way : freakin' low and freakin' fast. Go under the trees as much as you can. Use the terrain as much as you can, and very important : avoid very big cities and forests. These two points brings me to a very important feature of the Viggen, often forgotten : BRIEFING. PRE PLANIFICATION. This is really important. Before trying to do SEAD, I choose my path by myself. This is why it's pretty hard for missions that are done by someone else with triggers. Place at least one or two waypoints on key places to test your inertial drift. Place your waypoints to avoid flying over big forests and cities, because doing this will allow you to fly much closer to the ground for a longer time. Specially if you do SEAD against SA-10. They have a low altitude tracking radar (the tall one), and is deadly if you are just over the trees. And use terrain lines to set a path that will hide you as much as possible. The Viggen have a pretty decent range, so I don't hesitate to use it even if I must do 20-30nm more to avoid dangerous areas. As for weapons, I usually try to avoid BK-90, because I wish to stay in a 70's/80's era weapons as much as I can. But I take them on big missions and well proteced sites though because they are reliable. Bombs with drag chute does the job pretty well. If your SAM site is not protected by close range guided weapons such as ZSU-23, SA-19, SA-15 or SA-8 and IR sams, Rockets can be good too. For unprotected SA-10, I manage to get close to the SAM so it can't fire on me. Then I'm free to do what I want, aim for precise shots with ARAKs. But if the site is protected, BK-90 or high drag bombs will be my choice. Don't hesitate to share with me if you don't agree with anything I said. And remember : the Viggen is not really a SEAD/DEAD platform...

Hoping for FM fix too !

F-14 Crashes, not going to report this to bugs
Jowen G. Bruère-Dawson replied to Cunning_Fox's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
The only crash I experienced was at the release with the kneeboard. Otherwise, not crash for me. For my friends, didn't heard about crashes except sometimes when trying to enter the aircraft in multiplayer, but it was near the first release, since, we didn't heard about that. -
Maybe because the version modeled in the game can't take R-77. R-77 is mid-90's tech

+1

No. I can't recommend it for what you ask. However, if you can buy it for less than 30€, why not !? But full price ? Absolutely not worth it. It needs more time and maturation. The good sign is that recent changelogs mentioned pretty nice features. So its being worked on ! Which is good !

Is the F-14 moving to monthly patches like the F-18?

Is the F-14 moving to monthly patches like the F-18?
Jowen G. Bruère-Dawson replied to key_stroked's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Thanks for your communication. Really appreciate it ! If I may ask ,i know it's the wrong thread but since you talked about FM update, will the F-14 perform better in dogfight after the FM update ? After an OB update, we felt the F-14 slightly... Harder to use in dogfight. I think there was a thread already around this but I didn't understood if, at terms, if the F-14 will be ''better'' or if it will stay like this. Thanks and really sorry for the lack of precision and sources, currently writting my phone. Good luck with your work. -
F-14 performance discrepancies
Jowen G. Bruère-Dawson replied to Hummingbird's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Thanks Fat creason... Good luck with your work -
Thanks all for your answers. Yes it seems that AI is flawed as you said. Against F-5 and MiG-29, trying to stay at 15 AOA as much as possible, I often end pretty much all the time on its six, but I can't manage to have a good firing solution... The result is me with 0 fuel left x).
