Just click on the "New window" icon (upper right corner) and in the new window you have another icon "Open original" in the top row.

HawgTouch MIG-21 issues
BravoYankee4 replied to BravoYankee4's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks for replying McMicha. This behavior is when flying the standard Navigation training mission. Haven't experimentet with my own missions yet. KKP 2 : PRMG localizer needles (yellow in sim and white in HT) - Not moving 4 : "K" flag - Not showing 5 : "T" flag - Not showing 6 : RSBN/PRMG directional neddles (yellow cross in the middle) - Not moving NPP 4, 7 : Glide slope, localizer needles (white cross in the middle) - Not moving 9 : NDB/RSBN direction needle (Yellow in HT, white in sim) - Not synchronized with 3D cockpit The screenshot is showing both sim and HT instruments at the exact same time. -
Yes, I read about that in a book recently, that there where some tests performed together with NASA. Good find there snotric!

Is there anyone else besides me that actually are using Hawgtouch and the MIG-21 profile? -
Warthog Throttle middle detent mod?
BravoYankee4 replied to certhas's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hm... this is definitely something I have to do as soon as the Viggen module is released... -
Well, it is delayed IRL also... Sweden ordered 18 NH90's almost 15 years ago and they should all have been delivered at 2009. That didn't happen and now they are aiming for 2019(!). So we had to buy some additional Blackhawks in order to keep the business running. So, having a DCS module delayed would only mimic the real world - after all this is a simulator ;) http://www.defensenews.com/story/defense/show-daily/paris-air-show/2015/06/14/sweden-to-get-1st-nh90-helicopter-in-fall/71220498/

HUD Cconsole Too Big Obstructing Instruments
BravoYankee4 replied to TomCatMucDe's topic in Resolved Bugs
Well, there is a solution - implement the FSX 2D panels in DCS :clown_2: -
I am very much enjoying the HawgTouch (v1.6) application but there are some issues with the MIG-21 profile. Perhaps this is WIP and will be fixed eventually, perhaps it is a bug? KPP None of the RSBN or PRMG needles are operational. Neither of the K & T flags are showing. NPP Erratic movement of the direction needle. Localizer and glide slope needles arent moving either. Break pressure gauge No reaction what so ever. So, is this just me, or something broken/not imlemented yet?

Say what? A simulator mimic the real world!!

I was just about to do a BF2 comparison my self since I remember it well with all expansions and extra maps. In that particular case however the extra cost needed for some maps filtered out many of the grenade throwing bunny teens... so payware isn't purely a bad thing ;) Eventually I found the Project Reality mod that was even more narrow but I never looked back even for a second. Perhaps there should be some free multiplayer specific maps hosted by some ED servers, and then there could be more niche scenarios for those who are really interested. It is gonna be a diversity regardless of maps. Some people is only gonna play "Top gun" as soon as the F-14 is released and keep pushing comments about Swedish fighters that never been in real combat. Some people (like myself) will spend most of the time surface skimming over the Baltic sea in a Viggen and couldn't care less about the Las Vegas map and so on :music_whistling:

Sounds good. I'll let you know when I have something to get a quote on. This is all about perhaps building a Viggen cockpit in the future.

Anyone here that have used services like ponoko.com or http://www.razorlab.co.uk? Or any other company that takes online orders with international shipping. I would like to do some panels in either acrylic or mdf (or a combination if I will go for backlit panels).

Issue with A-10C altimeter display using DCS-BIOS
BravoYankee4 replied to Adrian_gc's topic in Home Cockpits
You need to change the video security settings, since they are now "private" and can't be viewed. -
A bit technical at parts but very interesting ;) The other parts are also interesting. I don't think there are many that understand how innovative the AXE phone system was for its time.

The Saab 105 / SK 60 was a twin seat trainer and also a light attack aircraft. This particular film is showing it in the attack version. Pilot and navigator (student / instructor) are sitting side by side. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saab_105 There was also a Viggen trainer called SK 37, but that one had the traditional configuration with the instructor behind the student. Some SK 37 airframes was later reconfigured for electronic warfare etc.

Perhaps more can be found in "Krigsarkivet" (military archives)? Not sure if they have films or just photos and documents... And there are probably a lot of films available within related "kamratföreningar" (veteran communities).

Funny, I had the exact same idea yesterday night when I started to design a pcb because of the Nano pin configuration it would be very much more convenient to have the pin 13 used for communication :)
-
Yes, both JA and AJ would be really nice. If we could have the data-link properly simulated it would be a really tough competition to any other planes from the same era, regardless of missile alternatives. If the AJS module sells good enough that might inspire LNS to do the JA as well?
-
Hm... never considered that. I assume you have to add some stuff in export or is a network broadcast default? What do I have to do on the Raspberry Pi - some kind of Python script listening and redirecting the data to the serial port(s)?
-
-
There wasn't any sacrifice - more improvement since the JA was developed after the AJ. I.e that it was considered as sufficient to have the external gun pods when they designed the Viggen. Obviosuly that decision was reconsidered when designing the interceptor version. The Aden cannons (30x113 mm) used in the external gun pods are not as good. The same gun as used in J-32 Lansen, J-34 Hawker Hunter and J-35 Draken by the way.

Thanks for the input Gadroc. So, board prices aside, what would be the ultimate setup? Let's say we have the right, center and left as the design principle. If they are all fed from one Mega, how much data will there be before the one serial connection to the PC gets choked? If you have three serial connections to three Mega's, would that cause any performance loss on the PC? If you have three serial connections, does it still have to be Mega boards, or could some other model be sufficient (assuming that you will have only one RS-485 bus per board). Sending text, is that the most demanding task (besides doing some gfx stuff)? I guess update frequency/poll intervall is also an important factor. Is it then the servos that are most demanding or analog inputs? I assume that an analog input doesn't need as high priority as an instrument etc. Trying to figure out here what would be the best solution, and there are many variables to consider.

Aah... my bad. Shouldn't be doing two things at the same time. No gain with a bus system if the bus isn't used properly ;) Here's an updated version. 126 (or 2 * 126) devices should be enough for most of us.
