Congratulations Stuge! :) btw next time pls make the rules clear... I was told to fly lvl at 5k and not allowed to pull pre merge ( I was really surprised about that, cuz I never heard of that rule)...and now ppl are saying that this was never in the rules...So whats the point here ?

if u dont have a 2nd monitor or do not want to alt+tab you can add it to your kneeboard quite easily. Just snapshot the cooridnates from the SOP save it as a .jpeg file and put it into your "savedGames/DCS/Kneeboard/BF109-K4" (Or whatever aircarft you fly) folder for example.

I got hit twice by an AIM9 and survived it with deformed burning right wing.. I could still fly the aircraft.. Never had that before. Atleast not in the Su-27.
-
yes, I really like it. Finally it gets more realistic. Unfortante that we have TOP GUN tournament today though. Edit: btw did they change anything with the damage model ?
-
I dont even need the S or W button to get rid of my wings.. Just happens at 900 speed starting a barrel-roll...lol..not even close to blacking out....
-
yes..lol:D.. I assume we are going to fly on the release version. I'm updating already So i can practise for tomorrow:joystick::pilotfly:
-
Which version are we going to fly on tomorrow ?
-
yes constantly crashing on awacs missions. And it seems to be worse if there is awacs + overcast... I cannot even fly on the 104th anymore.. Other ppl in my squad have the same issue. We mainly fly Su-27...
-
yes most of the time I use "VS-locking" or just shoot in gun funnel mode...and I always pre set the funnel/wingspan before i enter a gunfight..just in case..you never know... Dunno if thats intended or how the real system works.. Maybe someone with more knowledge about the real SU-27 could give us some insights :)
-
or you hit the reset trim first and then S. keeps your aircraft pretty much in the same position without any stick inputs
-
you have to select your desired search mode before... in other words... you have to press either 3 or for 4 and then the gun funnel mode ©.. For example: If you have pressed 3 and then c you will be able to lock target same as in vertical serach mode. Edit: Also works in BVR (2) mode of course.. as long as your cursor is on the target. Same goes for CAC mode.. As long as your target is in the circle you will a achieve a lock in the gun funnel mode.. See it like this way :you switch to gun funnel but in the background your last search mode is still active and determines on how you will lock the target
-
no, i mean that you can pull 20+g and nothing happens ;)
-
And the flanker does? ;)The ACS switch in the Su-27 is hilarious. I can see your point but every FM in DCS has its flaws.. This tournament is to bring ppl together and have fun.. Sure there should be some kind of fair and equal competition but that will never happen if ppl fly different aircraft.

hey skycap :).. thanks for the quick answer

Registered for 2v2. :) Rage and me. btw I have some questions: - Is the airframe locked for the whole event or just per match? - How many heaters do we get? - Is canopy dropping allowed? (Hi Plaiskool :) )
-
:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: Registered for the 1v1. Will most likely sign up for 2v2 aswell. ;)

thanks for hosting this event! Was fun .

aannnddd just to give you an idea of what the expected range setting actually does.. Elevation 1, expected range from 6km to 40km. the colored cones shall show how much your scan area will overlap with other elevation settings. Orange is elevation 0, purple -1, blue -2, magenta -3, and so on. Here is the link: http://imgur.com/a/9XMKz edit: dunno if i can embeed 3Mb gifs...hmmmm...
-
numbers are off by a few meters...i have somewhere a converation error in my code :D have fun...hopes this will answer some questions ;) expected range 10, Elevation +1: ( with negative elevation cones) expected range 10, Elevation +1: expected range 10, Elevation +2: expected range 10, Elevation +3: expected range 10, Elevation 0: (same as in last post) expected range 10, Elevation -1: expected range 10, Elevation -2: expected range 10, Elevation -3:

this might help you...this is how your radar looks with default settings (expected range 10km, 0 elevation)

I'll be there :). I can fly F-15 and Su27. Would prefer Su27 though ;).

Oh..yeah I misunderstood this. I'm sorry! :) Yes, with the expected range and elevation you can point your antenna directly on a target if you have awacs/GCI available. But most of the time in MP session you won't have it...Here is another explanation for it: The radar beam itself does not change in the amount it scans. All your expected range and elevation setting does is to tilt the radar beam in the vertical direction. Every change in elevation will raise or lower your radar beam for a certain amount (degrees). How much your radar beam is tilted per elevation can be adjusted with the expected range. For example: With the default setting of 10km you will tilt your radar beam for ~5.6° per elevation change. With a lower expected range setting you will tilt your radar more per elevation. For example: Expected range set to 8km will tilt your radar beam for ~7° per elevation change...and so on...
-
wrong. :) For example at 30km it scans down ~2000m. So if you are flying at 7000m you will pick up everything from 5000-7000m. Thats why I guess the F16 is below 5300m...otherwise you should see it..Or your PRF setting is wrong for the contact's aspect. In the SU27 you have to manipulate your radar constantly. Fyling with just one setting is not gonna work. You have to "develop" a pattern on how you manipulate the radar. For example: up,up,up - left - down, down, down - right - up ,up ,up - right down, down, down etc... pattern depends on your altitude, expected range settings ... etc...
