  1. As soon as I close the cabin doors, you can hear the low throbbing sound I'm trying to describe. It sounds like an old steam engine. Nothing is running, I haven't even flipped a switch. Same thing on the second chopper. Dead silent at Krasnodar, but I demonstrate a failed cold weather startup. This is unedited for speed purposes and when I look over my left shoulder, that's me looking at the second monitor and confirming acdelta's startup procedure. What did I do wrong? I hit the battery switch and immediately hit the starter.
  2. Blue FOB and Krasnodar.
  3. Seconds? I've been holding it for at least a minute...until all the lights on the master panel wink out and it goes silent. I should add, the blades never start turning, or so much as twitch.
  4. I have been running Skullz Huey sound mod. I'll disable it and try. Although it's weird it didn't happen at Krasnodar. I hit F2 and looked around, thinking some other pilot was horsing around, but I was the only person there. I haven't figured out how to fly the Gazelle yet.
  5. I've been trying without success as well. I use a very quick startup sequence that acdelta described once...usually get a Huey running in under 2 minutes. I can't start one at the FARP at all. It's just like you describe, gets to 10% and eventually just stops spooling.
  6. Bizarre...when I get in a Huey at the Blue Forward Farp, I'm hearing the weirdest noise....it's like the engine is running and under stress. Can someone else test that? I tried a Huey at Krasnodar and didn't get it.
  7. I could communicate with ground crew fine....problem is, they would answer a request for ground power with, "unable to comply."
  8. I'll do that. I also tested my keyboard and can confirm the F4 key is sending a hardware signal at least.
  9. Yeah...I also pressed the drop-off command wondering what was happening and it said I wasn't close enough, so I knew that key worked. I got zero response from F4, which is supposed to be the "pick up downed pilot" command, right? EDIT: Went to the server and double-checked; yep, F4 is the "pickup downed pilot" key. I was sitting right on top of the smoke at Smolonskaya Safe House and -re in chat showed 4 pilots to be picked up.
  10. Mirknir, I filed a -report last night about 9:10 PM Central time. I flew to a safe house and could not pick up downed pilots. -re indicated 4 pilots for pickup, but pressing F4 to actually get them did nothing.
  11. Two things....how do I get a Huey started up in the cold weather at a FOB? The ground crew was unable to connect ground power. I had to start up at Krasnodar. Second, is picking up downed crew bugged? I was sitting on top of the smoke at a safe house and F4 was doing nuttin'.....
  12. Check the attached .jpg
  13. Fly home? Heh...try, bail-out (ESC) and respawn to restock.
  14. All air-to-ground with the barest minimum of air-to-air provided by AIM-9s or R-60s.
  15. Helos performing rescue/transport tasks absolutely must make round trips in order to be successful. A fighter can fly to the conflict zone, fire off its ordnance, and not bother RTB'ing; just hit ESC, select a new plane 100km away and be magically transported there, ready for another one-way trip. Feels like a weird way to take part in a flight sim. I'm not emotionally invested in the idea....just thought it was something to consider.
  16. I think finding a way to penalize not landing the plane when you haven't suffered damage or run out of fuel and instead simply hit the ESC key might be a strategy. It would be great if you could pull data that compares take-offs, planes destroyed in combat, and landings. I'll bet you'd notice an interesting number of planes that don't take any damage, but never RTB.
  17. Is it possible to have ground elements engaging each other for AtoG and CAS to fly missions for? I mean actually have some blue troops and units engaging red troops and units that we can support?
  18. Reset? Aw Nuts! I was never gonna make it back to Krymsk in time.
  19. My wife broke her leg 3 weeks ago and I had to put the shih tzu to sleep 3 days ago. I'm starting to get ideas and the flight pack should distract me while the wife's leg heals.
  20. I'd like to think that was due to my recent, tiny donation being juuuuust enough....
  21. Forgive me, but is it really as simple as that?
  22. Turn it into a text file and run it through some Python.
  23. And you're just now thinking about helping? After calling the owner "sweetheart"? Nice.
  24. Take your time man...
  25. 1. Can the mission have some less extreme weather from time to time? 2. The server has very few rules and those are quite forgiving. The one repeated rule is "fly like a gentleman". Taking off from taxiways is not flying like a gentleman. Please, respect the other participants and use the runway.
