  1. So that's where the stutter is coming from. It's kind of annoying; especially on approach.
  2. It's all good....I got it. It doesn't turn out to be as complicated as I thought. Heck, I never do quick start on the L-39, why start now?
  3. The Albatros is a hoot to fly around.
  4. Imma try this. Thanks.
  5. I know somewhere the quick start sequence was posted here, but I can't find it. Can I do SHFT+HOME and get the Huey to quick start?
  6. Ur gonna have to quit
  7. I be helpin' with chopper missions! That's after an hour of practice. I'm still working on actually choosing a particular spot to land other than "somewhere on the ground and upright".
  8. Some people will do anything to improve their SEO.
  9. I used to own the Ka-50 but seriously disliked it. Didn't fly it much and wound up trading it for a Mig-21 module. This latest sale with the Huey at 29.99 USD got me to make an impulse purchase. I'm glad I did. This is very much fun. This is after an hour of practice time. It's also my first successful (?) landing. Thrustmaster Hotas X with the rudder axis mapped to the "rocker" on the back of the throttle.
  10. Public Service Announcement: Please check the F10 map before taxiing onto the runway and starting a takeoff run. If there is an aircraft within a couple of nm's you should pause in case they are on approach. Keep in mind, it is a multi-player server. This message presented in the memory of "Killed On the Runway When Landing....Again." Thanks.
  11. I am having withdrawal symptoms. I am a thousand miles from my home and computer. I bought a small cheap RC heli to get some "flying" in...but it isn't helping.
  12. He could put more Gepards on the weak side.
  13. Well, I'm a horrible A2A pilot, with zero experience. But, even though I didn't shoot him down and only caused him to crash, I scored an AI Su24. It wasn't that damned Gepard, but it'll do for now. Oh, and I successfully landed the F-15 without breaking anything.
  14. Say what? I've yet to get a runway assignment at anything but the other end of the airport.
  15. It's a shame the replay system is borked.
  16. Ah yeah....got in to the Sachere Supply Dump and spammed all four pylons of rockets on the trucks waiting on the road. Got four of 'em and hauled my ass back to base. I love my L-39ZA.
  17. I've seen it mentioned that it is related to rocket/missile launching. That the variables inherent in those actions throw the inputs needed for replays wildly out of sync. If I fire a rocket in an L-39ZA flight, the replays are borked....if I don't they seem fine. No replay in a P-51 works. I'm curious to know if the 190 or 109 also will not faithfully reproduce a flight.
  18. That explains the why...although, for the life of me, I can't imagine why that is. I'm going to have to revisit this.
  19. I have the RZ (?) axis on my Hotas X mapped to the external zoom function. That's the "left /right" control on the forward face of the throttle. Works good except when I zoom in, then release the zoom, it will not return to the view that was set before zooming; it will stay slightly zoomed in. Any ideas how to mitigate that, or is there a better way to map and use external zoom?
  20. What happens to the donations if the total does not reach your goals?
  21. So I'm home at lunch time, thinking I got enough time to bomb something. I fire up the L-39ZA, load it with 8 100kg Jupiters and head to the Sachere Supply Base in the CZ. If you're the first on site, the targets are bunched up just sitting there. On closely bunched targets, the parachute retarded munitions work great. Once you attack though, they start to move and line up on the road. I get to within 30km or so, brushing hilltops and spooking the cattle while looking forward to obliterating some supply trucks, when I'm suddenly peppered with automatic fire. Say what? I look to the right and see tracer fire from below my altitude coming from a low hill. AA? There's never been any AA on any part of this route...wtf? Thinking it's AA, I turn away and down, hoping to throw off the targeting and get below the gun's depression range. I see tracer misses over my canopy then, KAPOW! Uh oh, I'm going down. Turns out, it was an Su-27 flying lower than me. If I had realized it was another aircraft I would have turned into the source of the tracer fire, but instead, turning away allowed the AI to get right dead on my six. Sneaky Mirk.....but I'm going to lay waste to that supply base eventually.
  22. How is it unfair when texture modders are doing it voluntarily?
  23. This is true. Yesterday I flew an L-39ZA to the Sachere Supply Base. After just a couple of rocket passes I was ready to RTB. Every time I gained some altitude to setup a rocket run, I felt like I was totally exposed above the hills. Of course, I got back to base and despite my lights, my announcement in chat, and the F10 map, there was a pilot on the runway. I'm picky about that because on my first visit to that server, I royally screwed up and destroyed my own and another player's plane on the runway. One of the guides of the server is to "fly like a gentleman".
