  1. I thought it was an issue on my Metaquest 3 but seeing this topic I feel better. And it happens only with F-16 and F-18 ( a little bit less visible with F-18 ) since the last update. But it's really annoying.
  2. Sleighzy, my post talks about freezes and the topic is about.....freezes. Why do I have to open a new topic to speak about the same things ? I didn't say that I expect a solution from other users here, I just explained what I have observed if that can help.
  3. Hi. In June I've changed my PC. Before I had what you can read on my signature that I hadn't updated. Now I have a 5080, a meta quest 3 ( it will be replaced very soon by a pimax crystal light) and I have 64Go RAM and a Intel core 7 ultra 265K. Before I hasn't freeze but now I have on some maps and with some planes. The freezes happens only on maps with mountain reliefs with a high mesh ( never in Caucasus as you can imagine, due to the poor mesh) and only with high advanced avionics planes like F-16 or F-18 and strangely with F-14 too but never with Mirage 2000. but especially on Kola map on the fjords part or the Germany map on the hills part or big town like Berlin or Frankfurt. For me, I find that 45fps is very fluent ( limited by nVidia Inspector) and my MQ3 frequency set to 90 Hz ( My eyes dont bear the 72 Hz) but despite these limits I have freezes on the places and with the planes I've just said. What I have noticed : the freezes are linked to the shaders in the nVidia shader cache and despite the fact that this shader cache is limited to 10Go, the shader File of DCS never exceed 256 Mo and I think that it's the regeneration of this file that causes the freezes. Perhaps ED could fix that by allowing a shader file by allowing a bigger shader file.
  4. You know what ? Your answer remember me what I've done in fact in some other missions and I didn't remember. A long time ago, I'd downloaded an unofficial mod with some animals and I'd used a little chick from this mod ( not visible from far) to prevent an IA plane to taxi during my inertial alignment. Thanks to remember me what in fact, I've already done, a long time ago.
  5. Hi Until now, I didn't try to stop a rolling IA plane on the taxiway, but I would wish to stop a IA plane at the waiting point when I'm on final approach. After having create trigger zones, I've tried " desactivate group" when conditions are OK but the IA plane vanish immediatly in this case. IA planes aren't in the list of the "stop group" command. Only ground vehicles are in this list. So how can I do ?
  6. I've find that the choice of the skin of the player's aircraft is very important when the V-Ram is limit and the scene heavy loaded. For me, using a 4K or 8k skin changes totally if there will be freezes or not.
  7. Hi I have 64 Go RAM and a 5080 nVidia and I had freeze too in VR with Meta quest 3. Even with my hardware. So I think it's a question of VRAM. I'm use to create very heavy loaded mission and on some maps ( especially Germany) the VRAM saturation is quickly reached. What I've done with light graphic concessions ? In Oculus debug tool, I've set the pixel per display pixel overide to 1.4 but in other hand I use OpenXR Toolkit and in DCS I've set the resolution at 2676x2892. My MQ3 is set at 90Hz. It doesn't matter the definition you give since OpenXR toolkit overides this definition in DCS at 2676X 2892 I've reduced the preload radius to 90.000 The others cursors (forest visibility, clutters/grass, scenery detail factors, forest details are set to max and the smoke density to 5.) I've reduced the clouds to standart clouds but I use the Bandit648's weather mod at full resolution. With nVidia inspector: VERY IMPORTANT: I've reduced the FPS at 45 ( 1/2 90Hz) , preset K for DLSS, no Low latency (2 lines) and synchro set to Force ON. I can assume that with 45fps, the game is very FLUENT with a nice display. Freezes are caused by the change frequency decrease when the VRAM is too full. And of course, I've regerenated my DCS and nVidia shaders and are excluded from my AV, the DCS directory, the saved game\DCS directory and the nVidia cache directory.
  8. Thanks Bandit for these new versions. For being sure to make good tries this morning, I've began to update my nVidia drivers then I've deleted the "metashaders" and " fxo" directories in saved games\DCS\ and I've deleted the nVidia cache excepted the files in use, of course. Then I've installed your low resolution mod 1.9 and I've launch the missions heavily charged with items on which I had the heavy freezes since some days. I also thought to exclude the directories of "DCS", "Saved Game\DCS" and "nVidia cache" from the W11 defender analysis. It's really better now and yes I had short freezes yet but I think that they were freezes due to the new shaders generation. And I was pleasantly to see how great are your clouds even in low resolution. As I've already said, DCS would be not the same without your mod.
  9. Hi again I've made a try on a mission at the same place but with only your clouds and my f-18 and I'd no freezes at all. I'd even tried with heavy thunderstorm with rain and 14 density Perhaps your mod is a little bit V-RAM eater than before and that some of my missions are now reaching the V-Ram limits when the number of items I've put in them is high.
  10. I was flying an F-18 from Rammstein to Berlin with a flight above Frankfurt. Low altitude from Rammstein to Frankfurt and high altitude after Frankfurt. When I climbed to the high altitude, I had long and severe freezes approaching the clouds. ( no preset from ED or from yours, Base:5326 meters, Thickness 6350 meters, density 3, no rain, 8:00AM local time, 15 May, bloom activated.) I have a 5080 and 64Go RAM, my DCS preload radius is set to 90800 and my Meta Quest 3 is set to 40704 X 2728, 72Hz refresh rate, pixels X1.3.
  11. Hi again Bandit After some flights, I think that the shader cache issue, even with 1.8.1 is not totally solved. I have severe freezes with some weather configurations, on heavy maps like Germany. I even thought to switch back to 1.7 but unfortunatly for me, I've erased it.

  13. Since I've opened this thread, I think that even with the hardware I have, I'd been too greedy. I've switched my Meta Quest III from 90Hz refresh rate to 72Hz and the pixels x 1.4 to 1.3 in 4864 X 2592 and it's obviously better now. I think that the issue was a VRAM problem.
  14. Hi I have a nVidia 5080, 64 Go RAM and a I7 ultra core 265K. I use a Meta Quest 3, and around Rammstein, it's impossible to fly without freezes and heavy stutters with a plane with high avionic like the F-18. The solution I've found to fly at Rammstein without stutters and freezes is to create trigger zones and to erase, at the beginning of the mission, all the shelters hidden in the forest at the east side and the south west side of the airbase ( I think that we are around 300/400 shelters hidden among the trees). I know that you wanted to be faithful to the reality of these cold war times but all these shelters are they absolutly necessary in the simulator ?
  15. Thanks again and again Bandit648. But about the star light, I find that the stars wound be more shiny but more small. I don't know if it's due to your mod but the moon is very small, compare to reality and I can see an orange star on the south horizon at NTTR ( Mars perhaps) which have the same size than the moon.
  16. Hi I recently change my computer and I have a I7 core ultra 7 265K now with a 5080 Gigabytes. And at the beginning, I was very disapointed by the poor performances of DCS (more bad than with my old computer) and these lags you're talking about. Now I have around 90fps in VR ( MQ3) with 1.4 pixels without reprojection and around 60-70fps above Berlin at low altitude, in DLSS mode set on quality and without these lags with cursors on the right. But for that, I was forced to use an affinity mask in the DCS launch command and using just physical cores ( 0,1,6,7,8,9,18,19 for my CPU). So try the good combination using this link: https://bitsum.com/tools/cpu-affinity-calculator/ and install "process lasso" just to know which cores are physicals (see the bargraph in process lasso at the right top and choose only the cores marked with a little sign to calculate the affinity mask) then create the launch command as this one: "G:\DCS World\bin-mt\DCS.exe" --affinity=XXXXXX ( with XXXXXX given by the cpu-affinity-calculator site). For me, since that, DCS is a real pleasure waiting that ED decides to fix this issue forcing players to use an affinity mask to use DCS without lags.

  18. Hi I don't know since when but when airborne, the communication menu doesn't work. All works properly when on the ground but as soon as the huey is airborne, the key "communication menu" doesn't work. If I land the Huey the communication menu works again. An idea ?
  19. Hi guys ! I've solved my issue. I have a new installation of DCS on my new computer. So I've forgotten to do the simple operation to duplicate the files "fake_omni_lights2.fx" and "fake_spot_lights2.fx" and to rename the 2 copies as "fake_omni_lights.fx" and "fake_spot_lights.fx" It's done now and ALL my old missions are working well.

Sleighzy: Lot of my missions are working fine despite all "errors" showed in the log and if I neutralize the mods by renaming the directory "mods" the "not working missions " will not launch at all before the sim poststart freeze, saying that mods are missing. Recently I've updated the graphic driver and it's automatic for me, I've deleted the FXO and Metashaders for recreate new ones and I still have the freeze after that. Bignewy: Something I've forgotten, it's to disable the game mode. Thanks to you to remember me to do it, and it's done now but nothing has changed for my issue, whatever the statut of the Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling . But what is "core isolation" ? ( I have an Intel core Ultra 7 265K). As I've said, the shaders have recently regenerated and the nvidia shaders too. In my investigations, I've found that it's surely my templates that are causing the issue and I have the same issue with a template not of mine: This one: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/fr/files/3338070/ and missions done with it have the simpoststart freeze. So, I thing I will re-do my templates I think.
  22. Hi I’ve created some months or years ago, plenty of templates for Caucasus and other maps, using a lot of unofficial modules. I’ve included these templates in missions SP I’ve created and it was a very long work. Recently I’ve changed my hardware and many of these missions aren’t working anymore, but some others are working always fine. The freeze appears at « sim poststart » when I load one of these missions. I’ve said myself : « Ok, that’s one or several unofficial modules that are causing the freeze ». So, I’ve edited the corrupted mission files with notepad ++ by erasing the lines of required modules and replace them by the sames lines taken in a good mission launching well but it’s the same. So I could think in this case that the « sim poststart » freeze isn’t caused by some unofficial modules but by something else but it’s very frustrating to be forced to throw hours and hours of work in the garbage. If you have any other ideas that telling me : « It’s your unofficial modules » it’s welcome. dcs.log
  23. Hi In Frankfurt, we can see cargos and container ships on the industrial harbour. But we can see plenty of little bridges across the river on upstream and downstream from the harbour. Just a question: How did these boats for coming to the harbour ? Have they wings perhaps ? Are they modern copies of the flying dutshman ?

  25. You kwow that at the beginning of the post, I spoke about camping everywhere on Germany map. Sure, I admit that if you want to populate the Berlin's street, you risk to overload the gpu. But look everywhere on Germany map, you will see many campings based on the same model with a little lake, some tents and caravans, some vehicles and two hot balloons. All the life, except characters and I wanted characters to populate these places if I fly near them. On Gemany map, you have plenty of OTAN radar stations or russian military stations too and we have in the ME, all the military humans we need for use with. I just wish the same for all these civil little places, in the same manner. Of course, you will not put characters near a corner of the map, if you decide to fly on the opposite corner.
