  1. Hi Mr Mojo, I was hoping to use the button banks as an e-commerce test for the web-site. I am still trying to figure how to reduce the international shipping from 14.00. If you want to add your name to a back-up list for the button banks just do the following send an email to orders@pointctrl.com and put in the the subject line :Your "Call sign/Add Aux Buttons" If there s much more of a delay on the website, I will just send out invoices to you guys Thanks for the question, Miles
  2. Hey Hammer, I have 10 more invoices to send from this current group. I am testing the renaming and last units available today. I am still waiting on bare PCBs for the new smaller FCUs. I wish I could say with certain when the next groups invoices will go out, but I can't. I will probably call up to 375 next week, but I know I will end up waiting on the new PCBs for at least a few weeks. Once they come in, and now that COVID seens to be winding down in this area, I should be able to bring help back in, and pick up what I hope is a speedy production. Thanks to everyone patience, I know the wait is frustrating. Miles
  3. Shipping Update: I am slowly getting freed up from the COVID projects for the regional hospitals as Carol continues to take more of the lead. I have started to send out invoices for this group in the order the order the request were received. I am sending out reminders about the Aux Buttons that are now available and can ship with your kits. If you haven't already, and would like to add the HMS buttons, just send an email to orders@pointctrl.com and put in the the subject line :Your "Call sign/Add Aux Buttons" Thanks for your patience and please stay healthy. Miles
  4. No the Picture was good. Everyone Please place the adhesive tie down or anything under the Micro USB connector at the HMS to support it. Hopefully this will prevent future breakage if the connector is mistaking grabbed when putting on or removing the headset. The Pimax guys may have to get a little more creative. Please share pics of any of your solutions for any headset with the thread. The next design will hopefully mitigate this issue. All request for replacement HMS's have been shipped, and you should have tracking info on them tonight. (except for HeloGuy, still adding a few things) Thanks everyone, and sorry for the delays. We have been working with the regional Hospital system, but Carol is taking more of the lead on that, so I can get back to PointCTRL when I am not needed for her COVID projects. Thanks, and please stay safe and healthy. Miles
  5. IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR CURRENT USERS: In recent testing of the stable version firmware, I noticed that sometimes the buttons do not initially register as mouse clicks or scroll wheel movement when the HMS is initially started or reset. I must have induced this during trying prevent the requirement of Sirrah "Elvis Move" so you don't accidentally press a cockpit button when activating the FCU LED with a button press. The temporary workaround is as follows. 1) The first time you start or reset the HMS, press and release a FCU button to activate it. 2) With the now glowing IRLED out of HMS Field of view (down by your side) Press and hold a FCU button. 3)Then simply bring the FCU into view of the HMS and release the button, and your good until you turn of or reset your HMS. Bottom line: Press and hold FCU button while the HMS cant see it, then bring it into view and release the button. Sorry about that, although it wasn't mentioned, I sure of few of you noticed the problem. It will be fixed in the next update. Thanks Miles
  6. I am especially curios about you Rogue, because you were using the new FCU Multi buttons press = a keyboard press.
  7. Hi Hammer, UPDATE for everyone on FireCats List We had to put PointCTRL on hold for a bit, because were designing and manufacturing simple devices for local Hospitals in CT. The focus has been PPE enhancements for Hospital staff. Moving forward, Carol will be taking the lead on most of this now. I am going to try and take Sunday, and focus on completing this groups orders and get your invoices out. Los's son, just started working with us, as well as one of Carols friends, and we were making great progress before Covid hit. Since PointCTRL has been well received by this community and other entities, I committed to manufacturing space, resources, and personnel. The plan will continue with instant online ordering through pointctrl.com and orders going out within 24 hours as soon as the current situation permits. Apologies for the delays, but our current priority of work follows. 1) Supporting the care givers with design and manufacturing of devices related to PPE and Covid-19. 2) Current customer support 3) Invoicing and shipping the current group, and manufacturing new PointCTRL kits with v2 FCUs. 4) Increased production through additional staffing and automation to complete orders from FireCats list 5) Switch to website ordering and sales as soon the DCS list is complete, and PointCTRL inventory stocking is sufficient. 6) New product development. (This will be a new thread for your input) Thanks for your patience, and everyone, please stay safe. Miles and Carol
  8. Hey Terry, If you have the time, If you could revert to the stable version posted on the website, I would like to confirm its 100% stable for everyone. Thanks, Miles
  9. Hey Guys, It seems that PointCTRL is having issues with the latest DCS or Windows update. I am on it now. Has anyone else noticed this, mostly not in working in DCS menus, and sometimes not even the cockpit. Update: Seems to be only the latest firmware version of PointCTRL that has conflicts. I added a Stable and Beta versions to the website. If you are having issues clicking on the menus or controls , revert to Stable version. Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience, Miles
  10. This is really a great implementation, and video. Thanks for sharing Andrew, Miles
  11. Are you doing the Elvis move wrong, or the start up? Absolutely fantastic video
  12. Okay that is friggin hilarious. Ever since I was informed of this issue by DeshMindER, I was asking people about it, and they would all describe some sort of move they did to mitigate the problem. I always pictured them doing something like this...
  13. Firmware and GUI.Voice Assist updates are out on pointctrl.com I updated the PDF instruction manual, but did not get a chance to document the new features below. We are back to production now after some extensive PointCTRL updates. I hope its easier to initially set up now, and the new button features are usefull to you guys. Firmware Update info for v040620 The Joystick and Mouse HID had a conflict on a few systems. I had to go back to a Mouse and Keyboard HID. The main feature of this update is you don't have to worry about accidently turning a switch when activating the IRLED with a button press when you happen to be pointing at a switch. The FCUs are now mapped as extra key presses as follows FCU Buttons 1 and 2 together = keyboard press and release of u FCU Buttons 2 and 3 together = keyboard press and release of i FCU Buttons 1 and 3 together = keyboard press and release of o Aux Button Banks are now q,w,e,r,t, and y Any controls currently mapped to these buttons will have to be remapped. The Aux buttons on the headset will hold just like a keypress, but the FCU's only send a single press and release per press. Holding the 2 FCU buttons down will not hold the keypress down. I was running into conflicts sometimes with the mouse vs keypress codes. I have to put in some more code for complete deconfliction in all situations. You can then bind those simple press and release u,i, and o to macros running in voice attack or any other macro software you use for more complex functions. Thanks Miles
  14. Thanks for the interest, The ordering information is consolidated in the first post of this thread. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3607054&postcount=1 There is a waiting list and its probably about 30 days at this point. The price for the complete PointCTRL kit is $175.00 USD. Thanks for the interest. Miles
  15. Hey kaltokrei, Good to hear from you again. That's a good idea, unfortunately, it would only work if they had the same monitor set-ups and resolutions. The original intent of the GUI was to be able to use pull down menus, to get you close. In the end, it was more difficult because of multi monitors and different resolutions. I think the process is about as simple as it can be now. But I am sure there are improvements to the instructions and Voice that can be made. I soon as get the feedback from last nights update I will refine things a bit more. Thanks for the suggestion, and I'm looking forward to your feedback. Miles
  16. Hey Guys, I am hoping this is the final version of the calibrations software. The process has not changed. but I do hope it's clearer, and more methodical. The biggest challenge seemed to be getting the cursors in your HMDs FOV. This can also serve as a reference document for that. I hope its not to much to take in all at once. I will probably make a custom knee-board again with the reference Pics. As always feedback encouraged. Miles
  17. A Huuugggeeee THANK YOU!!! to Deano87 for sorting out all of the PointCTRL website issues, that I created when I attempted to transfer and add domains. I truly appreciate your time, patience, and persistence. Thanks again, Miles
  18. Thanks, Added domains, trying to get it all sorted.
  19. Hey RatCatcher, Sounds like both FCUs may me visible during calibration, The new simpler procedure through voice assist you only have your left FCU active. Or you may be picking up stray IR bouncing off your board when you turn your head to align the cursor. Catch me om discord and we can sort it. Miles
  20. Hey Guys, Were happy to support Moltars DCS "Merge for the Cure" charity event. Thanks, Miles and Carol https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=4267678
  21. Chic!!! I DMed you a few times about the new firmware providing a somewhat workable 2d solution. Lets try and discord voice when you get a few minutes, I would love to hear how you got things working on working on your big ass screen. Miles
  22. Great stuff guys!!!! I love seeing you guys share your ideas and innovations with everyone. I did some experimenting with lightweight and stiff expanded ABS sheet 1/4" thick. The intent was to use it in the area of the UFC and MFDs on the A10-C for the Air Force. I will try and dig it up and post a pic. It was a bit rough and just for proof of concept, but it did have a tactile feel as the panel moved in. I tried pressure sensitive material early on, I think its in the first few post, but it didn't feel as good as a button on your finger, plus you only get left click so you still need the FCU buttons I think Andrews is a great and simple improvement. If you have the space, just go big on the panels and your good for most aircraft. An overhead for the MI8 would be cool. Great Stuff, keep it going Miles
  23. Ahh, yes the hold left click and move hand up and and down is good for brightness knobs and such, but not useful for small discrete channel changes. That's when you use the technique detailed above, It actually works very well for those type of fine adjustments.
  24. Hey RatCatcher, is't nice to see you back here. I love your Photoshop wheel, and its a great idea. I have whole selection of of 3 way rotary style switches ordered, and the PCB design is not final. So it's still a possibility. I am actual thinking of offering a few different types of FCU that are largely dependent on your hand, finger, and joystick size, as well as personal preferences. They would all be compatible so your not locked into a single FCU style. Currently the top portion of the new FCU's will be a modular battery with case. You will have the ability to change from a small or larger profile based on different battery capacities. Possibly I could add the scroll wheel to that module. Sorry to hear it's hit or miss with you with the current mouse wheel emulations. Maybe it will help to correlate the 2 actions required to change mouse wheel direction to the physical actions required to roll your standard mouse wheel. Once muscle memory sets in, it should go well for you. Prepare to scroll Step 1 with Standard Mouse Position your finger on the actual mouse wheel, either in front of, or behind the whee,l depending on the direction you want to move the wheel. Step 1 with PointCTRL Wihle not pointing at a switch or control, Press FCU button 1 or 2 depending on the direction you want to move the wheel. Button 1 to set the direction forward, Button 2 to set the direction backward. Scroll Step 2 with Standard Mouse Rotate mouse wheel the desired number of lines. Step 2 with PointCTRL Press button 3, to scroll the wheel the desired number of lines. PointCTRLs button 3 can be clicked rapidly to scroll single lines or a held to scroll more quickly. You only have to press buttons 1 or 2 again, if you want to change directions. I just made a change to the speed of the scroll based on suggestions from Metzger, and it feels better. Instead of wheel speed increasing exponentially when you hold button 3, it now goes to a set increased speed after 1/2 second of holding. Thanks for that Metzger I hope that helps. A few minutes of messing around with folding and unfolding the wings on the F18 should make it feel more natural. Thanks for the suggestion RatCatcher, and I will show some pics of the mock ups when I get them done. Everyone, please stay safe and healthy. I really have to shorten my post, to many damn words.
  25. Important info for Current Shipping Group 325 and next group 350 I got a little delayed adding the Aux Button Bank firmware. I wanted to offer this group the chance to add them to their order. If you would like the button banks added just email Carol at orders@pointctrl.com and ask her to add them to your current order. Price is $12.50 per bank of three buttons with connectors and mounting accessories. No additional shipping cost. I will wait until tomorrow morning, and if I don't hear from those of you who are this group, I will ship as ordered. Don't worry about getting another invoice, I will just add them to your shipping box for now and work out the payment when I have some time. PontCTRL is now recognized as a HID Mouse and a HID 32 button dual hat switch Joystick controller. It shows up in DCS as a joystick, and you bind as you normally would any joystick. Modifiers work on the button banks as well, so they can have multiple functions. Here is a pic of Deano's set-up, prior to plugging in the included connectors that connect the button banks to the HMS. As always, Thanks for your patience, Miles
