  1. Hey Desh, I liked your thinking. It looked like it was going to work, It did make the DCS window much more representative of what you see in the cockpit. It was nice and wide, with the top and bottom clipped, but not distorted. Unfortunately, it did not effect the cursor movement being vertically scaled down and limited when it's in the DCS window. I think it may be DCS VR implementation since it is not specific to any VR Headset. Still working it, Next up is TerryDews suggestion. Thanks for the good, sound suggestion. Miles
  2. Update: I just cleaned up the GUI a bit, FCU menu changes are quicker, and the seizure inducing flashing menu cursors have been changed to smooth identifiable movements that still mimic their functions (kind of). You need to update the firmware also. Thanks, Miles
  3. I think I will try that right now, I don't have a Reverb, but I still may get good data with the S. Thanks for the suggestion. Miles
  4. Yea, to navigate I turned my mouse 90 degrees to the left and left clicked with my thumb. Did you get full horizontal cursor movement range, I would expect it to be reduced. You will also have to re-calibrate PointCTRL because of the reciprocal aspect ratio. I am still curious about TerryDews suggestion. Thanks for testing that out. Miles
  5. If your up for testing, you can try putting your monitor in portrait mode. I don't know if it was here or on discord I talked about this, but when I put my monitor in portrait and unchecked cursor confinement I got the missing 2% that is missing with the S. None of this is a real solution, just fulfilling curiosity and building the knowledge base. Miles
  6. Now that's an interesting and thoughtful idea that seems to get to the root of the issue. You would have to start windows with only the HMD active, Can that even be done? Can you see a desktop? Could this help your frame rate? I Have no idea about any of this and never tried it, and I don't have a reverb, But I am intrigued. I do expect to get this resolved correctly, but this is interesting. Thanks Terrydew, Maybe we can get Thud to weigh in on this. Miles
  7. Hey Kirin, Your spot on with the reverb issues, I am trying to come up with a solution, other than buying a 4K monitor. I cleaned up Voice Assist a lot tonight, especially all those flashing dots that are supposed to represent where you were. And the menu selection go a lot quicker. I will put up it up tomorrow. Thanks for the feedback. What did you say your monitor res was? Miles
  8. Yep, That what I am working on with the Reverb, trying to get the cursor to top and bottom 20% of your FOV. If you slide your standard mouse across your desktop, you will see it shift more towards the vertical center as it transitions to the DCS window from the desktop. Please ignore me if I said that a few post ago. Miles
  9. Hey Kirin, I am working on the limited vertical cursor movement that only seems to appear with a combination of a higher res HMD and a lower vertical res monitor. Whats your set-up? But I an glad to hear you are enjoying it, Thanks, Miles
  10. It should be native 1920x1080, Thud had the issue when he started it on a portrait monitor, but was able to resize. I think he went max windo w then resized. I am checking window settings now.
  11. HUUUUGE Update: At least it is for me. I finally got a Alpha version of the GUI up. Its on the PointCTRL webset now. https://pointctrl.com/firmware// Its still very much a work in progress with content still to add. Please let me know any issues or suggestions. Thanks, and I hope this helps the first time users. Production is starting again tomorrow, I just felt I really needed to do this, not only for the new users, but I am sure there are a few current users still struggling with things. Thanks, Miles
  12. Important Update: The last batch shipped with the new firmware for the Audio Assist. That's why you were getting the funky cursor movements that did not correspond to the instructions. pointctrl.com also had some bugged firmware on it, causing the cursors to flash as when they went off screen. It was an unintended consequence of the cursor smoothing. I put the last working version back up, I am unsure if it has the cursor smoothing, but later today's update with the Alpha release of the Voice Assist will have it. Hot Fix https://pointctrl.com/firmware/ Thanks, Miles
  13. Just putting the finishing touches on the Audio Assistant, As soon as the current groups kits are in final testing, Carol will send out the invoices. Miles
  14. Hey Wicked, I just checked the orders@pointctrl.com and didn't see your call-sign. I will try and cross reference in case you did not include it. But, Carol or I may have just missed it. Edit: We got you, I was looking for your call sign in the subject. Just sent email. Miles
  15. Your right, but I somehow screwed up the last firmware release, and it was taking more time to figure out the last good version, or fix the current one. I should have it done in a few days, I will probably let the documentation slide a bit because the Audio Assist Interface can take the place of most of it. Thanks, Miles
  16. Excellent, That works or you can just to small pieces on the ears. PointCTRL documentation is lacking at the moment. Update: I made a decision to slow production a bit, and focus on cleaning the documentation up, and getting the GUI out their to make things easier. I know there are a bunch of you waiting, and apologies, but I am just not happy with the current state of documentation and set-up process. Thanks, Miles
  17. PointCTRL does not require any software to be running on your PC. It is recognized as a Hid Mouse and soon a Joystick too. All processing is done on 3 onboard micro-controllers. PointCTRL is definitely not plug and play as far as calibration goes. It takes a few times to get the concepts down. Once you have the concepts and procedure down, it's easy to set-up and calibrate. The good news is, I am almost done with an interactive, and linked Audio Assist application that guides you through the menus and set-up process. I hope to have the beta out any day. Mariner where are you?!!!! I need my tester number 1. Additionally, Thud, and others, with a low vertical resolution monitor coupled with the high vertical resolution of the Reverb have limited cursor movement vertically. Mariner and FoxDelta have bought this up in the past, and I must have zoned out about. I am activity looking for a solution. Thanks for the question, Miles
  18. No problem, don't worry about sending anything back, consider them extras. In the pic below you can just see the double face tape on the top of the Rift and under each wing of the HMS. As far as the grey foam blocks, that's an old pic. The PointCTRL website shows what comes in the current kits. That gray foam was for spacers before I made custom mounts for each HMD. As listed. The chargers do not come with the 5 volt standard USB power supplies. If your available tomorrow we can do a talk through calibration on discord with a screen share. Thanks, Miles
  19. Hey Murph, Invoice went out 10:42 est this morning. Mayby its in yout spam? I will PM the email it went to. Miles
  20. Hey Harlikwin, Its almost done, but I changed things a bit. Basically, now there is an audio assistant every step of the way that knows where you are in the process and helps you along. You can stay and listen to the step by step, or just click on through. Here are some pics of the Aux Buttons I am sending out to testers. In the final version the white plug will be covered by the enclosure, and the black heat shrink tubing will be included, this one is not shrunk. It may be better to just use black electrical tape to hold the 4 wire harness flat against the HMD. The Aux Buttons are recognized as a windows joystick and are programmed in DCS like any other controller. I am putting more pics over at the discord showing different mounting options. Thanks for asking, Miles
  21. Hey Harlikwin, Always good to hear from you. While you could narrow up the cursor limit box, you would lose some pointing area. I have had my windows task bar on the left side of the screen even prior to PointCTRL. When it was at the bottom, when I would click items on the lower part of the multiplayer screen it would activate the task bar and I would lose focus. Thanks for bringing that up, I should put that in the videos and instructions to move your task bar to left in windowed mode. Miles P.S. @ TWC Alamo, I have to work pretty hard to click outside the window with the standard mouse when "keep mouse confined to cursor window" is checked. Do you have that checked?
  22. Hi Terry, The packing slips and shipping labels are printed prior to final testing. Each order is then compiled from those packing slips. Next each component of that order (chargers, batteries, FCUs, HMS, automatic firmware updating,) are tested as a unit right before Carol packs them up. Once all of the orders are completed and packed, Carol then verifies that she got everyone in that group, then they are off to the local post office. This week, quite a few orders kept coming from this group at the last minute, which delayed things a bit. If the late orders are not through testing by COB today, we will split the group and ship the completed ones. I probably should have done that in the first place, but I forgot about Thanksgiving. Carol had this groups orders ready to go a few days ago just as the late orders started coming in. Thanks for asking, I have had a few questions in general, on why the delay from when the shipping label is printed to when tracking is available, so I thought I would share the process with everyone. Thanks for your patience. We are just trying to keep the process as efficient as possible to speed up everyone's order. Miles
  23. Firmware Hot Fix Habu found the the cursors were timing out in the HP Reverb Headset during the 5 point calibration. The reason the cursor vibrates during this step is so the Headset thinks the cursor is moving and does not turn it off. This is different from FCU time out that turns off the FCUs LED after the user set period of time. Its important during calibration to be sure to press the rear most button to ensure the FCU LED is on, followed by pressing the forward most button to accept the curser to FCU alignment. As always, during calibration, please ensure the unused FCU is not visible to the HMS. Thanks, Miles
  24. While its a bit expensive, if you would really like to tune the damping, this is an option. https://www.amazon.com/Team-Losi-Shock-Oil-202530354045/dp/B00B9E9BU6/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=rc+shock+oil&qid=1574878319&sr=8-1 I used to race RC cars and there was a big difference in damping. But with the forces you have on the stick, you would probably be good with the 20 or 30 wt. Also, depending on your shocks, many have a replaceable orifice for an even a wider range of tuning.
