  1. thanks, good description. and yeah i can spot it fairly easy in my screenshot too. but that's because i was able to pause at just the right moment . in reality the plane radar screen is constantly moving and the plane is moving and the bogey blip only appear in a single radar direction (so only appears 50% of the time, if you're lucky). life was tough back then! makes me appreciate the 2-seat birds more now. having a dedicated radar operator would have beeb clutch
  2. oh dang for real? didn't know that
  3. oh, interesting! good find
  4. yea the FPAS in the f-18 is real handy. would love to see something like that in the jeff
  5. I'm wanting to know how to differentiate a clustered group of air targets. Is there a way to expand the radar to see individual bogeys in a cluster? I think the f18 has a way to do this for the air and ground.
  6. still having this issue, but this time I know for sure I have a strong radar return in both RWS and TWS modes. however when i click on the bogey nothing happens. UPDATE: i just kept clicking over and over and finally got a lock. null
  7. Is there a screen somewhere on the MFDs that show fuel flow?
  8. ah, shoot. was hoping i could just combine some files from both mods. thanks for the reply tho!
  9. hmmm i guess i'm confused as the radar is obviously picking them up (because i can see them) but am unable to designate as an HPT.
  10. WHOOPS! I guess I time travelled to the future for a second
  11. great mod! however i'm wondering if I'm able to combine it with this mod that makes the panel a nice shade of grey? I really like this one, so was hoping it'd be fairly easy to combine with the english cockpit. am I able to do this?
  12. great, thanks. good to know i'm not going crazy
  13. man, I guess it's realistic or else the devs wouldn't have done us so dirty like this but I have to say it's is near impossible to identify a green bogey in a giant map of identical green haze. you have to look down at the radar at just the right second at just the right spot to see anything. wonder why they did it this way. seems to make the pilot's job unnecessarily difficult. null
  14. FANTASTIC
  15. How does one get the VOR morse code to shut up? I tried twisting the volume knob labeled "VOR" both directions but it didn't seem to do anything. Thanks! null
  16. Having some troubles getting a radar lock via HPT mode. As you can see in my screenshot, there are two bogeys just a little bit in front and below of me. I'm picking them up easily, however when I click on them, nothing happens. I've tried multiple times in both TWS and RWS modes. Can anyone see what's wrong with my setup from the screenshot? This happens to me pretty often, while othertimes it will work. null
  17. thanks for the info. i believe i tried it at other altitudes and speeds but the behavior seemed to be the same. but i'll try again
  18. that's good! i use a ffb stick too so maybe they can help get it working. i was at 35,000' @ mach 0.9ish
  19. I knew there were some issues with the AP last year however i thought I saw in an update they fixed it. hmmm
  20. New to the Tomcat but is this where the aim-54 is supposed to have rocket coming from?
  21. i'm working on learning the Tomcat and following along in Chuck's guide. However I can't get the autopilot to work. Here's what it says: ALTITUDE HOLD: Barometric Altitude Hold. When engaged, aircraft will maintain current heading and barometric altitude. a) Ensure aircraft vertical velocity is approximately within +/- 200 ft/min or the autopilot cannot be engaged. Try to fly level and aim for a vertical velocity of 0 ft/min. b) Ensure Yaw, Pitch & Roll SAS switches are ON (FWD) c) Set Autopilot Switch to ENGAGE (FWD) d) Set Autopilot Altitude Hold Mode switch to ALT (FWD) e) Wait for the A/P REF warning light on the left side of the Vertical Display Indicator (VDI) to illuminate f) Press the Autopilot Reference/Nosewheel Steering button on the control stick to set the current altitude as the reference altitude. However it will usually just begin to dive shortly after. Anyone know if this guide is correct?
  22. awesome! this is getting me hype. i love this jet already
  23. When I flip up the radar lock switch my radar goes from this: to this: And nothing happens...anyone know whats up? I'm following the grim reaper guide UPDATE: looks like I got a lock but the radar still looks weird and there's no symbology around the plane. what the heck?? null null
  24. My cockpit is shaking at cruise speed and altitude (32,000' @ 350kt ias). This happen to anyone else? UPDATE: discovered this happens only in transonic region
  25. Wondering if there is an english cockpit mod like exists for several other modules? I know there's an english setting but it doesn't translate a lot of the decals and instruments
