  1. that's a fun trick I hadn't heard of
  2. correct. so probably an AI bug i thought this might be possible as well, however the AI then slowed down, did a 180 degree turn and landed
  3. the epic glaciers sure are furry and fuzzy! null
  4. thanks. and i did try to google first but didn't return anything
  5. So I just hit an Mi-24 with an aim and blew it's tail rotor clean off. However she's still flyin around just fine like nothing's wrong . I'm assuming this is a bug? null
  6. bump. anyone figure this out?
  7. Is there a way when designing missions to have different weather in different parts of the map? For example, stormy on one side of a mountain range and bright and sunny on the other, like real life?
  8. ok. thanks for the info
  9. no i just updated it and got new south atlantic map. wondering if anyone else's looks like this or if it's just mine
  10. My FFB input: I use Microsoft FFB2 and it's still AMAZING after all these decades I've had it (since i was a kid). I love DCS world for doing a decent job of FFB (and extraordinary compared to MSFS2020). I'm flying the JF-17 right now and I love the vibration during the take-off roll. Just that little bit of feedback adds immense realism. Also there's shaking and buffeting when approaching stall speed/AoA which, as an IRL pilot, is how planes actually feels. Bravo! I'm wondering why the F/A-18 doesn't do this? As far as I can tell there's 0 FFB feedback?
  11. Does the new map have seasons? Aka when flying in July/august is there more snow in the mountains?
  12. thanks, makes sense now. except....the $advancedAutoFil graphic on my screenshot doesn't look the same as the one in the video. there's a dollar sign and stuff which makes it looked bugged or something. hmm
  13. kewl
  14. Just updated to latest DCS version and wondering what this $advancedAutoFill feature is?
  15. Just bought this map and curious if any pre-made missions come with it?
  16. UPDATE: figured it out, it was indeed a clibraiton issue. the center position was slightly forward. so even with full trim it wanted to descend
  17. UPDATE: it was, in fact, a joystick calibration issue. The trim part was what was throwing me, but now I don't believe you can actually trim it in flight, just in landing configuration. That's why it worked in other modules, as I could trim the mis-calibration away, but in the Hornet you can't Hope anyone else who finds this finds it useful
  18. I thought that maybe too, however trim should still be working, i use the numpad keys for that. Is the little red cross supposed to represent trim? joystick works fine with other modules, which is strange if it's a joystick issue.
  19. thanks. must be something on my end then
  20. Something has changed or broken with my Hornet flight stick. So at first I thought it was a FFB issue as I'm playing with a Microsoft FFB2. However as the Hornet doesn't have any FFB I realized it's something else. Take a look at my screenshot. When I'm at straight and level and at cruise power (with 0 kt wind), I let my joystick be centered (remember this is a FFB joystick) and the plane now dips and rolls to the right. I try to press "trimmer switch - pull(climb)" but nothing happens and she continues to dip. I'm not sure if the little red box in the corner is supposed to show trim, but pressing trim up or down does nothing. Before I believe the FBW (or something similar) would try and keep the nose pointed in the general direction you wanted her in, but now it's like any sort of flight control systems aren't working. It's hard for me to explain but hoping the screenshot shows something that someone will spot and understand. Again I've been holding down all of the trim buttons. Also the smart fbw system jsut doesn't seem to be responding. *shrug* EDIT: also can't get any of the autopilot functions to work. it just beeps at me while I'm trying to hold her straight and level What are those other little symbols for, as they don't seem to be doing anything?
  21. anyone know if that Mustang skin is available?
  22. Flying the Yak for the first time in a while with my FFB2 stick. I noticed that after take off I have to trim up 100% and even then I still need back pressure to keep her nose level. Does this seem right? null
  23. was there vibration when launching with the cat? it's been a while since i've flown the Hornet so might be getting the ffb action mixed up with other modules. but i thought, for example, when launching from the Carrier that there would be feedback and jolt when taking off or landing?
  24. has it always been this way? i can't even get the trim to work now though. feels like something's changed (on dcs or my end)
