Pretty please allow us to search user-files by map. I've been playing DCS since there was only the Caucuses map so this function didn't need to exist. But it's been a decade and there are many maps, but the search function hasn't changed at all. Time to give that old thing an overhaul and allow people so search That would enhance the entire DCS experience exponentially! Cheers

Hey guys, easy question: is there a way to display the distance to the current target in the PILOT HMD? And by target I mean 2 types: 1) the target that George is targeting the TADS at for attack 2) or the target point T01, T02, etc Thanks!

Gun as a pilot: Shots way to short or too long. in short

I'm also having some trouble with gunnery accuracy. Coming from the BS2 which has a literal sniper rifle from 3km away I thought the Apache's accuracy would at least be equivalent. My shots seem to hit ~50 meters in front of the sight at 2.7km -
Now we just need more Infantry and Ground Units!

dead link as far as i can see? -
Hi there. As the title says, is there a way to place your target points in the mission editor (or F10 screen) so they show up on the TSD?
-
cool, thanks for confirming what I'm experiencing. Just trying to find out if I'm doing things right. So if George loses a target on his TADS, then he immediately forgets what the current target is, even if we circle back around to face it again. As far as I'm aware long down just repopulates the list with highest priority first (SAM, AAA, etc). So if I'm targeting a specific vehicle (sometimes out of dozens) then there is no way to have George re-acquire it. This makes things very difficult if trying to do multiple attack runs to take out a single enemy. In fact I'm not sure there's a way to do it at all currently? If anyone else has figured this out please chime in.

gotcha, thanks. yeah that will be real handy to see what the stabilization computers are doing

so when I press "right control + enter" I only get the TOP LEFT display and not the TOP RIGHT one. However I do get the top right one in the Mi-8. How does one enable the TOP RIGHT display in addition to the top left one?

ok we're getting closer! I'm wanting to know if George will remember a target if he loses it on the TADS. AKA If I'm circling on the battlefield doing multiple attack runs on the same target, will George remember the target without me having to re-select it each run?
-
hi thanks for your response. however I'm not sure it answers my question. My question is about having George remember the same target for multiple runs. In a saturated battlefield with many enemies it's not feasible to have to scroll through a massive target list when attempting to hit a single target with multiple attack runs. Does my explanation make sense?

Quick q: how does one view the SCAS inputs as shown in Wag's video series? And what exactly is it showing us there? Thanks!

So in a crowded battlefield I'm assigned with attacking a single VIP target (a soft-skin truck). I'm the pilot and George is CPG who is manning the gun. As we approach the battlefield I tap up to get a large target list. I'm having to scroll way down and keep my eye on the TADS to try and find our VIP. I find him and tap "right" to confirm target. I hold "up" to let George he's free to fire. I fly in to begin the attack run and George fires off a burst and misses. I break away to the left and circle back around for a 2nd run. However as soon as TADS loses target lock, George himself seems to have forgotten who our VIP target was that we were just attacking. And I don't have time to scroll scroll through dozens of enemies again to find him in the middle of attacks runs. I want Goerge to continue attacking the same enemy until he is either destroyed or I change targets. Is this possible at the moment? I've had this scenario a couple times. Cheers

this is what I read in the manual. not sure if it works correctly or is super accurate though. Up Short: Commands George to slave TADS to Pilot Helmet Sight (PHS) and search along designated line of sight for targets.
-
As the title says, I'm having difficulty getting George to slave the TADS to where I'm looking. It's always a few degrees off, which equates to a fairly big distance depending on how far away I am. As shown in the screenshot below, I'm looking dead center of a group of building with red smoke. After commanding George to slave TADS to my helmet, the TADS moves but is way off in the middle of the woods. Anyone know if this is correct behavior?

yeah thats what I thought as well, it had been around for a while. Nothing worse than paying full price for a gadget which then releases a new version a month later

Looking to get a Track IR system as it sounds like it pairs well with DCS. Couple questions for anyone that knows. How old is the current TrackIR 5 system? Anyone know if a TrackIR 6 is on the way? Any better systems than TrackIR for DCS? Thanks!

does that actually work

thanks, i was pretty close!

Working on hellfire firing. Am I correct in that you have to hold the laser button the entire time the missile is in flight? Is there a way to just press a button and have the laser fire, or have the laser fire automatically after firing missile? Having to hold the whole time isn't working well for me, I'm hoping there's a work-around. Thanks!

Looking through the manual but may have missed it: how does one point the TADS to an enemy location and then save that target point for quick recall later? Or like the SPI from the A-10. Thanks! Update: I think I figured it out. On the left hand grip hit the "STORE" rocker switch up. It'll mark a "T01" on the TSD. Then you can make that your ACQ source and recall it when slaving. There are probably more/better ways to do this but it's a work-around for now.

so i was at 80% max weight (as indicated in the armament settings in the ME) and around 1000' MSL and 20c. but the plot thickens, after George was unable to hold an altitude, I took control and circled around and came back for another attempt, but this time I manually hovered it, then switched control to George, who was then able to hold altitude. strange huh

Hey guys. Working on getting George to behave but having trouble getting a hover. As you can see in the screenshot, I want George to hover at 750'. However George not only doesn't want to ascend to 750', he's descending. Are there other qualifications or parameters that need to be set before George can successfully follow orders? Is there a specific weight that the AH-64D has to be under for a hover to work? Thanks

Did I find a bug on the map or is this a bug on my end somehow?
-
Is there a way to have the flight computer hold a simple heading while flying or hovering?

thanks ill try this out
