  1. interesting, thanks I did not know about CSS mode. sounds pretty similar to attitude hold, except it hold a magnetic heading?
  2. is there a way to hold wing level? i thought if you engaged balt hold with wings level is would hold that. however that's no longer happening for me, it slowly turns you to the right or left
  3. When activating balt hold, is it also supposed to hold wing level?
  4. EDIT: i figured it out. you have to press different keys once you're in the air to activate the menu system. strange

  6. I'll use this thread to ask any questions I'll have during playthrough. First question, after taking off mission 1 and flying heading 050 I'm supposed to contact departure comm 2 channel 3. However I am unable to do that. As you can see in my screenshot I'm on comm 2 channel 3 however when I press the "communication" key nothing happens... what else am I missing here?

I tried looking for this issue and came across a post from a year ago with the mods saying this is how it should be: 5NM - 1:250K 10NM - 1:500K 20NM - 1:2M 40NM - 1:2M 80NM - NO MAP 160NM - NO MAP However this is not how mine is. In my sim I can ONLY see the map at zoom level 10, and no others. So either my sim has a bug or the previous mod post was incorrect. Thanks for any info.

I get it, trust me, it's very annoying when things don't work correctly, but we have to remember this is software currently under active development. it may get worse before it gets better. but get better eventually it shall
  12. thanks, would appreciate your thoughts after a few missions. the voice acting can be a tough spot for a lot of campaigns that aren't English-native, with the translations usually off-base. so it's interesting to hear your take on all that.
  13. Is george able to target and engage enemy helos with hellfires? if so, is it the same process as ground targets? EDIT: the answer is YES!
  14. Saw a couple interesting looking campaigns. 1) Operation Cerberus 2) Hormuz Freedom Anyone tried these out yet? I'm usually hesitant to try out new campaigns before hearding about them since there tend to be frequent duds.
  15. yes, the waypoint show on the HMD is pretty close to the target, and it says 6.1km
  16. these are great, thanks. hopefully we'll get an updated model in 2022 standards but until then this is at least an upgrade
  17. i kind of figured. thats why i asked the next question seeing if this is in on the table for the future version. once it's out of beta
  18. i see this is possible in some of the other modules, like the JF-17. anyone know if this feature will be possible in a future version?

    C-17?

    Just noticed how atrocious the C-17 AI plane is in game. Does anyone know of and skins or mods available to at least mildy upgrade it?

  21. ill try some of these tips. as for selecting the next target in a group, I do George down long to get the group list back up without having to de-slave.
  22. i'll try and get a video of mine, but as you can see in the screenshot I'm at almost a perfect hover, so the platform was very stable. if I had to guess it may be a LoS issue. As you can see the target is indeed locked and lased, but at a steep angle and with obstacles around it. after this screenshot was taken I tried to pop-up to get a better angle but was shot down, thus re-emphasizing the need to stay very low with high attack angles.
  23. full set, beginning of mission yeah not sure if I can do that as PIC? but the box should be there at some point i think
  24. so yeah I did manual consent first, and that's when George said "engaging" like he's saying in the screenshot. but that didn't work, so I changed to auto-consent to see if that worked, but it didn't. i just took the screenshot after trying to auto consent, but you can see him saying "engaging" in the upper-right of the screen after i gave manual consent. kind of back to back. very odd. looks like some kinks to work out, especially if they have him say "engaging" but there's something out of constraints
  25. George has a target lined up and lased, I told him to fire the missile, and he goes "ENGAGING!".... and then nothing happens. Anyone able to see why George is lying to me from the screenshot?
