  4. noooo, it was the best smoke mod. allowed the trails to rise really high into the sky much more realistically
  5. so in that picture it's actually "on runway" start (winter in england). that's why i was extra confused why there was no ammo.

  9. I'm loading the Jf-17 in the Channel map and as you can see even when I have 100% gun ammo it loads with 0 bullets. Doesn't matter which airfield I load it on. Anyone run into this error?
  10. So I know this is kind of a weird one, but when I start the Jf-17 hot on the carrier runway it has all its fuel drained. I double checked the mission editor and it's supposed to start with 100% fuel. But as soon as the mission loads the fuel is gone and the engine shuts down.
  11. that may have been it. even though it was 9.30am the sun was barely over the horizon. i tried again in the afternoon and he was able to get a target list
  12. I'm having a hard time getting Mr. Petrovich to fly as I want him to. Take the below as an example. I want him to hover and face heading 026, but he's facing heading 043. If I want him to actually turn to heading 026 I have to tell him to face heading 005. Anyone know why this is? It's pretty consistent
  13. So in the cockpit i switch the 5 twisty knobs i can find for red lights but sometimes the panel stays dark. Is there another trick to get red panel lights?
  14. So I've been flying this map all evening with no problems. Then all of the sudden I re-load the map and my ship looks like this... What the heck. Anyone know?
  15. I'm having trouble getting Petrovich to give me a target list. Check out this screenshot. I'm very close to a line of enemy armor. I'm pressing 'W-short' and all he does is move the crosshairs to where I'm looking. I'm following Chuck's Guide and he says tapping 'W-short' will bring up a target list which you can choose your target from. But it never happens. Is this bugged or am I missing a step? (P.S. all weapons are activated and Petrovich is indeed alive)
  16. yes, now we're on the same page. in the mi-24, when you press and release the trimmer, the pedals won't stay trimmed. at least not for me. which makes it hard to fly. that's the whole problem here
  17. i can't tell if you're joking. you're repeating back what i'm saying. please re-read. maybe there's something being lost in translation here...
  18. meaning helicopter rudder pedals aren't like our little twist sticks. they don't jump back to the center when you release pressure, they stay trimmed in place. this is how real helicopters work and how all of the dcs helicopters behave when "rudder trimmer" is used. all except the mi-24, which is the problem here's how chuck explains it:
  19. everything you're saying is irrelevant to this thread. We're not talking about a flight envelope or integrated autopilot or anything else except the rudder trimmer function. the rudder trimmer in dcs is indeed supposed to work like all the other helos, as that's how rudder pedals work. Helicopter rudder pedals aren't spring centered; when you press them, they stay pressed. obviously a twist stick setup cannot do that, thus the rudder trimmer is a workaround that allows the rudder to stay in place when trimming to simulate rudder pedals. this is how the other DCS helos work as well. hope this helps you understand now
  20. tbh i'm not sure i really followed any of that. all i know is the rudder trimmer on my ffb twist stick isn't working like it does in every other dcs helicopter module where you twist the stick to where you want it, press trim, and the rudder stays trimmed in that position. currently you have to manually trim the rudder by holding left and right on the trim until the rudder slides close to where you want it, which is a very unprecise, laggy way to fly an attack helicopter. it makes flying her not very fun as you're constantly incorrectly trimmed. it should work like the other helicopter modules with BIGNEWY confirming this. I hadn't heard any updates in a while so was checking if they've added the rudder trimmer for twist sticks yet so i can fly

  24. Having a weird issue where my Burke ship isn't moving with the rest of its group. As you can see in the screenshot it's immobile while its carrier in front of it is chugging away. Anyone know why this would happen? It obviously can't have a bigger draft than the carrier
  25. 1) i tried the tarantula class ship but it looked like a lot of textures were missing. what is this ship supposed to look like? 2) also, is the iranian patrol boat supposed to have a backwards missile? 3) how do you get all the LCAC vehicles to work? thanks
