Intel announced their new Ultra Core chips which are up for pre-order now but from what I'm seeing they won't seem to have much impact in *most* games but of course DCS is different. I'm currently on a Ryzen 5950X and have been considering upgrading to the Intel i9 14900K but would it better for me to hold out on the Ultra Core 9 instead?

I can recommend Openkneeboard as well as I actually started using it for this campaign. I keep one kneeboard on the "Radio log" page (which is the message history tab from the pause menu) and the other for the mission images. With the radio log kneeboard open, I can very easily look down at my knee to read the 9 Line and then back up the ICP to input the coordinates.

I mean, if I have a kneeboard with checklists, will the PDF guide be in the same tab as the checklists?

But doesn't that mix in the PDF with my kneeboard? I'd prefer to have the PDF be on it's own tab within OpenKneeboard if possible.

I've added Chuck's Guide for the F-16 but I also want to add his guides for other aircraft. Is that possible without every Chuck Guide being viewable for every aircraft? If I load the F-16, will it only display Chuck's guide for that aircraft even if I have other guides saved into OpenKneeboard?

Thank you for providing this. The code didn't work but that's fine as it confirms I haven't got the mod installed correctly. I'll go fix that on my end and reuse this code to see if the HUD changes to Red to confirm if I've installed it properly. [edit] I got it to work. I was being a dumbo with SLAM so switched to OVGMe and it works now.

Do I need to put my headset on and boot the Quest 3 into Link mode every time before starting DCS or can I get DCS to do that for me when I run the exe? Also, can I view my desktop like Steam can with the headset run using Quest Link? My rig doesn't have a monitor so if I can't view my desktop through my headset then this is a non-starter for me. I really just want to click my DCS shortcut and everything boots up for me, having to do these steps every time would get tedious.

I thought QuestLink was just for launching Oculus PC games? How do I launch DCS through it?

Currently I have to open Steam Link in my Quest 3, then tell it to connect to my PC, wait for Steam VR to load, and then open my desktop on the Steam dashboard, grab my mouse, then double click my DCS shortcut, and finally tell DCS to launch in VR on the launcher. With my Index, all I had to do was double click the shortcut and everything would load up just fine. There must be a faster way for me to do this with the Quest 3?

Could you provide the code to make the HUD red please? I really don't know what I'm doing and the uncertainty of if I've actually installed the mod correctly makes this frustrating.

I have the mod installed via ovgme, but I can't tell a difference. I want to test to make sure I've actually installed the mod properly by changing the HUD to red but I don't know how to do that. I changed some stuff in the lua files but I don't see a difference

That worked. I didn't realise version 7 was it's own program. I was right-clicking in the folder were the script is and launching Powershell from there and didn't have version 7 as an option in the right-click menu.

Oh, I thought I did have it installed because when I went to install it, this is what came up Doing a repair didn't fix it. [edit] I checked to see what version I have and yes, it indeed version 5, not 7, and yet the installer thinks I have 7 already:

I'm experiencing pretty bad performance in VR but I can't afford to upgrade my entire system right now, so I can really only upgrade one component, what do you recommend? My specs are: AMD 5950X RTX 3080ti 32GB DRR4 3200Mhz DCS installed onto NVMe Running the Quest 3 headset, targeting 45FPS

I'm going to be doing a reinstall of Windows and I want to backup my control binds. I don't want to tediously save a profile for every controller per aircraft so is there a faster way to do this?

I reformatted my PC and saved the DCS Saved Games folder, but none of my keybinds aren't showing up in DCS. I checked the configs/input folder and all of my controller profiles are there so I don't know what's going on.

I'm going to be honest, I'm a bit disappointed there is no campaign, especially as the Kiowa isn't an EA module and the Gazelle came with a campaign on day one. Is there any word on if or when a campaign will be released for the Kiowa?

I got it to work. The folder was meant to be "OH58D" without the dash.

For me, I just double-click middle mouse and it works.

I'm honestly desperate for this feature. I use RS Mapper but being able to make Long/Double presses natively in DCS would make my life so much better.

I only started using Open Kneeboard recently. Does it need to be updated to support the Kiowa or can I use it in conjunction with that aircraft now? I made a "OH-58D" folder in Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Kneeboard and put PNG's into it but they aren't showing up in Open Kneeboard. I noticed Open Kneeboard did have an update recently; was that for the OH-58?
