  1. They don't owe you anything. You have not given them any money, and they're busy with other things. Go do something productive instead of whine on a forum.
  2. No, but expect a sharp increase in GPU use, and some long-needed mercy for your CPU.
  3. Utter crap, get your facts straight or don't post. The US has very safe air travel, but it has literally nothing to do with this. :noexpression:
  4. Nope, you just picked the wrong thread to pimp that MiG model! Someone moved them. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2109265&postcount=296
  5. Glad to see someone else is doing this, but in my opinion being forced to use windowed mode is an instant no-go. That, and the excessive static noises (which I could and would totally adjust to my personal preference, but it's just not worth it if I have to use windowed mode.)
  6. Nah. They're good fun to fly with.
  7. If that doesn't encourage some patient support, we've got a serious problem here. :D Keep plugging away, guys!
  8. No, just a woman-driver. ;) I'm KIDDING. It sounds like a training flight, I think I'm hearing an instructor barking at her from the back seat.
  9. Honestly, there is a lot of the cockpit that has not been animated. How far do I plan to take it? Not much further, although I'm constantly improving what we have... we have the functionality we need for our demonstration, and creating a complete Hornet is an absolutely monstrous job that I cannot do "on the side." Add to that the fact that ED plans to make a Hornet, so I would still not be able to release it. I think that might be why your post in the DCS F/A-18C thread was deleted...:music_whistling: When you consider the incredible depth of an airplane like the Hornet, very little. Only the systems and interfaces we need for our demo. If I'm completely honest and I make an estimate based on the detail I know this aircraft COULD have... maybe 20% of cockpit controls/interface, 5% of avionics (a tactical rabbit-hole,) and 60% of complete detail for systems like hydraulics, flight control, etc. It feels like downplaying my own work, but that gives you an idea of how massive an achievement DCS:A-10C is, and why ED doesn't pump out a new one every year.

  11. Nobody understands how difficult it is to produce a full-fidelity modern fighter. The amount of detail is just hideous, and the community will not appreciate anything but complete detail.
  12. Not at all, I can tell you anything you'd like to know about it. I made it with the help of Helmet from VBA. He did the vast majority of the cockpit mesh, I did the textures, external model, flight model, and systems. It still has a lot of places we'd like to improve, but it's done purely in limited free time. Just yesterday, actually, Helmet made some progress on the right bulkhead geometry: I've got some overdue work on a new SJU-5/6A seat. Hopefully, if we both find the time, we can turn what we've learned into a public module. Most likely something of lower complexity than a Hornet, though.
  13. Gotcha. Yeah there's really no need for it. It would block the Super Hornet's UFCD, and both jets have built in timing functionality that is more than sufficient for their normal combat purpose!
  14. Do you mean the stopwatch? (Chronometer?) I have nothing to do with Coretex designs, so the answer is probably no, sorry!
  15. You did not. :) http://i.imgur.com/1vAaUnl.png
  16. Not really. I wrote extremely basic stores management, including the stores description DDI page, and stores selection/release. The HI can show full color maps, and we don't really use that in the demo. By and large, though... it's purpose-built. I'm only one guy with limited time. :)
  17. Precisely! Another underrated challenge are the flight controls, though... a desktop HOTAS with a couple hardware store springs doesn't give the physical precision of real flight controls. The lack of hydraulic or dynamic pressure feedback and dampening is a big part of that, too. Thanks. 4:45 is one of my favorite feelings in a good flight. You can see the outside view at 46:40 in the Livestream reply here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSS0jScg8rE. Full disclosure: 8:20 in the Cockpit Camera video is a textbook botched rendezvous. No sir, it's a custom EFM I wrote with NASA aerodynamics and Flight Control System (FCS) data. (And the help of our gracious engineer friend from VPJT, SilentEagle!) All things considered, it's quite accurate in the regime we fly it in, and feels great to fly. If I ever come upon the time needed to make a public 3rd party module, it will have been a priceless learning experience.
  18. Thanks, guys. As it happens, you can see some more action like this from Ells and the VRA, here: (A music video without the comm from various viewpoints, but same basic premise!)
  19. I'm going to say that, for the most part, this is one of the less creative/generative flight sim forums I've participated in. A huge percentage of the comments is just self-centered pleas. It draws a lot of criticism. Maybe that will decrease if EDGE and more 3rd party works come through... I don't know. Yeah. But do you think that YOUR identically worded thread titled, "Release date?!?!" is going to make a difference where the last thread did not? There's a bizarre logical disconnect here, where people seem to think that their mere desire for something means it should immediately exist. If some group takes your money and then does not deliver NOR communicate at all, I can understand that... but if it's not done, it's not done. And if you haven't paid, you have no right to act demanding or incredulous. Leatherneck, for example, have people's money and have explained what they're doing... they don't deserve to be hassled further.
  20. 6pjliE37ENY :)
  21. Or... education for those who can't or won't, so they can understand how much work it is.
  22. This is accurate. There is definitely room for skepticism about quality of products... I can understand wanting to make sure something is done correctly. That's constructive. But this constant "when do I get this thing" and "where is the news you owe me" crap is so painful to see.
