Anybody has upgraded from Windows 7/8/8.1? My concern now is whether I can continue to use my 8.1 key on a new/upgraded rig in the future after I upgrade; and if I can, for windows 8.1 or windows 10... I fear if I change to a new rig, the 8.1 key that I have now may only work for 8.1, especially if the one year free upgrade period has passed.

According to the previous Q&A, the FM of F-15C is still being worked on. How about that of Su-27? Can we expect improvements (on the realism aspect) of the Su-27 FM in DCS 2.0?

People can dream... But then we have to return to reality. J-10 and J-20 are highly classified now... J-20 is still in the prototype stage. DCS:J20 is hopeless.

I would prefer a DCS level J-10 or J-20... Or a JH-7. As for J-8, it is interesting, but more as a collectible...

OP, did you try DSR using your 960 card? It helps quite a bit in spotting distant targets. My 680 2GB is able to pull X4 DSR off. I am sure your 960 can do it as well, if not better.

Do you also have such problems in other games/softwares? If so, either your particular copy of 970 or its driver is at fault. Try clean installing the driver, or to look for solutions on hardware dedicated forums such as tom's hardware. If the problem appears only when you are playing DCS, try repairing DCS, or clean-installing DCS.

Maybe it's the difference between the so-called 'gamers' and commoners. But to each his own... It's like buying a iRobot for vacuum cleaning. It costs people hundreds of dollars, does something anyone could do using their own hands. Yet iRobot is immensely popular. People are happy that iRobot saves them some time and effort. It's also like riding a car instead of walking on foot. Do you mock people who do that? The same applies to the software in question.

I am running my GTX680 on Ver. 353.06 (the previous release). DCS seems to run a lot smoother than on versions before it. I didn't install any additional mod, nor was there any update on the DCS front. So I guess it is due to the new driver. I didn't do any controlled comparison, just my feelings... Didn't update to 353.30. See no reason to do that now, seeing that 353.30 is specifically designed for the new Batman game but nothing else.

The options are biased... People who don't need a trainer must think themselves as super pilots? When playing DCS, people must learn flying basics in trainers? I didn't vote, for obvious reasons. If I were to vote, I would say no. What DCS needs is not a trainer aircraft, but a set of tactical/manoeuvre training missions that go beyond button pressing and simple shooting.

After using a 42 inch 1080p TV for three years, I don't think I can go back to anything smaller... Except for a VR headset maybe.

We might be happier if DCS2 is released not full-featured but sooner. As long as it is reasonably stable. But then ED apparently wants it to be perfect upon release. Understandable, but not ideal, especially considering that we've waited so long, and that so many eta's have been missed.

To me, it is in-air-refueling that I am looking forward to. I stopped practicing refueling altogether, in anticipation of the arrival of the PFM for Su-33.

Take your time ED... I am having a blast with the Su-27 campaign, so don't mind waiting a bit more.

Yes, that is also my understanding. I am also hoping that EDGE will not be delayed by bugs in NTTR. But I am having a bad feeling...

Notice that it was on the NTTR map that Wags was updating us, not on EDGE/DCS 2.0. As far as I understand, EDGE is not tied to NTTR. Not in principle at least.

The official estimate still hasn't been changed in the first post. I am expecting some more announcement, or some secret editing of the first post. We'll have to wait and see. The first half of 2015 is rapidly approaching its end.

Right now I have only one install, that of open-beta. When 2.0 is released, I am going to have two. One for the released version of 1.2.X which has been proven stable, and another 2.X.X open-beta. The best of both worlds. Can't wait.
