  1. Hi. the modifier on my throttle keys act as a "switch" in dcs radio (they "stick"). I made sure sure the modifier is added to the "modifiers" list instead of "switches". cockpit & aircraft stuff works as intended with the said modifier keys (they use my modifier like a "shift" button). it's only the radio that has the sticking problem. Here's my case: button MOD as set as a modifier button THUMB is set as cockpit ptt 1 button MOD + THUMB is set as cockpit ptt 2 pressing THUMB will activate ptt 1 pressing MOD alone will do nothing (as expected) pressing THUMB again will activate ptt 2 (should only activate ptt 1 since it's pressed without MOD)
  2. going back to the quality issue, deleted metashaders folder and made no difference in cloud quality.
  3. lowering that increases the midtone contrast so it appears more defined. But there's clearly something wrong with the setting not doing anything in VR, and regardless of the choice you make, you're stuck with low-quality clouds.
  4. can confirm there's no visible difference between VR cloud settings. If this is a tuning made by taking performance into account, I think VR should be given the same detailed clouds with the desktop version. At least on Ultra/High.
  5. Hi. While I should be able to control my aim9's heatseeker left/right/up/down, It only follows where I look across the horizon. BORE mode, in DGFT, HMCS power on.
  6. Hi. My favourite thing to do in my BMS days was to fiddle with the DED/ICP menus. lots of useful utilities there! (such as the remaining fuel/TOT/homefuel calculation pages) should I expect those to be modeled in DCS in the future? thanks!
  7. There are a few threads about this but I didn't want to necro them since they're all 1-2 years old. Is this even on the roadmap? Is it not possible / too terribly hard to implement it? I know pilots can switch to AKAN mode to see their current elevation and use buttons to change the elevation, but isn't an absolute axis more convenient?
  8. this is the first result that shows up when I google it.
  9. I think that will fix it but I'm not 100% sure. The surefire way to fix it is to draw a 2x2 m square around you in guardian (which will be the bare minimum for a valid guardian setup), and put yourself in the dead center. Then you can disable the guardian walls and boundaries so you don't get the warning lines when you move your head and put your controllers aside. ALSO: https://forums.oculusvr.com/community/discussion/78335/head-position-jumping-tracking-issue guy reports it's been happening since 1.39. maybe the next driver will fix it and we won't even have to mess with guardian.
  10. It was our ISP. They probably broke their middleboxes they use for Deep Packet Inspection (not only it's not illegal here, it's also required by government from ISP's to use DPI for blocking some websites.). The TLS handshakes were not being successful. Only some websites served over https:// were affected. DCS, AWS, yahoo, lichess etc. all kinds of various websites were broken. It seems to be fixed now. I hope it stays this way and they don't break it again. I was able to reactivate DCS by tunneling over my VPN but people weren't able to access their AWS servers for 56 hours.
  11. hey vampireNZ. I've had this issue with elite dangerous and DCS and found a possible fix. When I set the guardian up for my play area, the center was to my right from where I'm standing (naturally, the computer is not in the dead center of my room. It's tucked away in a corner). And when Oculus software loses positional tracking, it resets the game's center to the room's center, therefore putting me right outside the cockpit, above the left wing. What I did for fixing it was, resetting the guardian zone to the immediate vicinity of my computer, while playing DCS and ED. Open your dash by pressing the oculus button, go to settings, click reset guardian. Instead of drawing your whole room, just set the forward position, ground level and paint a small square around you so that your seat will be in the center. You can check the center position by deliberately moving against the guardian border and looking down. It will show an arrow, designating the center of your playing zone. It should be just below your seat. Ah. Also, it might give you an error and say "your designated space is too small" and disable guardian completely. You won't see the boundaries when you come close to them, but I /think/ having no guardian will prevent resets as well. (will try now)
  12. Just checked. Nobody on my ISP can reach DCS website. It fails right at the TLS handshake. I called the ISP to ask about the issue, they confirmed they're having some issues with websites abroad, but it seems to me like they're blocking the website using deep packet inspection. (that would surprise me but.. you check the above output and see where I'm living in).
  13. Another interesting find: Neither the browser nor the game launcher can access digitalcombatsimulator.com. But I can ping the domain. 0% packet loss, ~65ms. and here's the tracert output: >tracert 91.134.1.104 Tracing route to www.digitalcombatsimulator.com [91.134.1.104] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.0.1 2 * * * Request timed out. 3 * * * Request timed out. 4 * * * Request timed out. 5 9 ms 10 ms 9 ms 212.156.38.21.static.turktelekom.com.tr [212.156.38.21] 6 8 ms 9 ms 9 ms 34-acibadem-xrs-t2-2---34-acibadem-t3-5.statik.turktelekom.com.tr [81.212.217.124] 7 * 9 ms 8 ms 81.212.203.228.static.turktelekom.com.tr [81.212.203.228] 8 57 ms 48 ms 47 ms 306-mil-col-2---34-acibadem-xrs-t2-1.statik.turktelekom.com.tr [212.156.141.224] 9 49 ms 50 ms 48 ms mno-b2-link.telia.net [213.248.83.177] 10 50 ms 50 ms 67 ms mil-5-a9.it.eu [54.36.50.138] 11 111 ms 65 ms 67 ms be103.sbg-g1-nc5.fr.eu [91.121.215.194] 12 62 ms 60 ms 61 ms be100-1254.th2-1-a9.fr.eu [94.23.122.139] 13 65 ms 67 ms 70 ms be102.gra-g2-nc5.fr.eu [213.186.32.214] 14 * * * Request timed out. 15 * * * Request timed out. 16 * * * Request timed out. 17 * * * Request timed out. 18 65 ms 65 ms 64 ms www.digitalcombatsimulator.com [91.134.1.104] Trace complete.
  14. This is a repost from "Site Issues" subforum since I'm now out of the 2 day grace period, and can't even launch DCS. hi. following a session of DCS today, I started getting the error "dcs website is not available at the moment". I thought it might be a temporary error but it's been a long time and what I've found out is interesting: Can access any other website. No device on this network can access digitalcombatsimulator.com All devices on this network can access digitalcombatsimulator.com via using a VPN My phone can access digitalcombatsimulator.com when using mobile data instead of home network. I've tried: Rebooting computer Rebooting router using flushdns, renew, release commands on command line Any help is greatly appreciated. I want to fly so bad!

  16. I fall slightly on the wider population with an IPD of 67. Don't know if that'll create that much of a problem. A youtuber by the name VR365 told on two accounts that even though he had an IPD of 72mm, he didn't get problems. Eye strain is not too much of a game breaker for me since I don't play anything more than 2+ hours. I'm only concerned about losing clarity and FOV
  17. update: I'm leaning strongly towards Rift S right now. I really don't understand what kind of magic it employs to have a screen better than O+ even with the lower resolution, but comparisons show clearly that text is more readible with Rift S. Gotta do some more research. EDIT: as shown in this video at the linked timecode:
  18. the misalignment between two eyes. people have reported being cross-eyed in DCS. Also, my gf is currently in USA and I don't think we'll pay any taxes since she'll bring the headset with her via the airplane, in a backpack or baggage.
  19. Hi. I've been researching VR headsets since I wanted to join the club, and came across Odyssey+, which is reasonably priced and offering a greater display than other VR solutions. But, I do have three concerns: camera's head tracking quality misalignment problems ASW equivalent First is the camera's head tracking quality. My other plan was to get an HTC Vive (non-pro) since it used two lighthouses for tracking. I'm not that concerned about tracking the hand controllers. Can Odyssey+'s camera track head movements well? Second is misalignment problems reported by some users. The weird thing is that it only happens in DCS and few other games, and only happens in some HMD's. I'd think that it's a production defect that needs to be calibrated, but since it doesn't happen in every title, I really don't have any idea why's that happening. Can the recalibration .dll completely fix the issue in DCS? Third is the ASW equivalent. Does the motion reproduction thingie work in DCS? Do I need to use stuff like revive for that? I've heard Revive introduces some lag so this goes for the second question as well. I wouldn't like to have to use that software in both cases. This is going to be my first VR headset, and I'm a total stranger to the concept of VR. I do have limited time before my gf returns from the states so waiting for a new HMD's release is out of question. can't buy locally as well because of economical catastrophe in my country. So, I do appreciate you guys'/gals' time answering these questions. This means a lot to me. I wish everyone a great evening/day depending on where you are, and thank you again for your support!
  20. Hi. I've been feeling like buying a VR headset, and wanted to test my current PC build if it can push the pixels it requires. So I've googled "htc vice resolution" and this was on the screen: 2160×1200 1080×1200 per eye I know only one dimension multiplies there, since it only has two viewports and the vertical space stays the same. But I'm confused if the GPU actually renders at 2160x1200, or 2160x2400. It seems like it renders 2160x2400 because I've heard from a streamer that one eye can see an enemy aircraft, while one is obscured by cockpit framing, hinting the displays are actually different rather than completely overlapping. As for what I'm trying to accomplish, I'm trying to play the game, rendered in my monitor, using the HMD's resolution, and simulate pixel density by applying SSAA, and monitor the framerate & responsivity. That's why I'm so eager to know how many pixels the GPU is actually rendering to drive a VR headset. Also please let me know if you notice a discrepancy in my test that will render it invalid. I wish you all a great evening/morning and thank you beforehand for your assistance. Thanks a lot!
  21. Hi. Since the thread on HUD textures are closed, I thought I should open this here. Just to let the development team know, the pilot body textures are also changed. The legs look like they're candied (overly reflective, sharp speculars, like it's plastic)
  22. Just for an example, they could've easily fixed the loud RWR sounds due to wrong .sdef definitions. 20 mins work max, and you get to keep your promise. That's how bad it is, and how much they care right now.
  23. Just like mirrors, the computer needs to render extra meshes when you turn on NAVFLIR. That might be why.
  24. so excuse me if I'm wrong but, was that all RAZBAM had to do to fix this issue since december 2017? A 5-line configuration on .sdef files?
  25. Hi. Pretty much self explanatory. I've been flying a mission with visors ( no NVG ). and pressed rshift + K to open up my kneeboard, and pressed [ to change the page. It enabled the night vision goggle and I couldn't disable it.
