Well, you couldn't carry Vikhr on the inner pylons, because they can't tilt. Unless they had that Ka-50 rigged with the right equipment on the inner pylons, which, considering how experimental the Ka-50 seemed to be, is totally possible.
-
I'm sure we can jam it in there somehow! :P Of course, this will mean we'll also have to mount the R-27ER. I also want a mast periscope like on the Apache Longbow. And a Unicorn head staked onto the front nose.

So, obviously, the bug is causing the "bullet" to spawn in the wrong place, in world. Just incompatible mod somewhere. Always happens eventually. WOW! That is a LOT of mods!

Good place to look for info. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=242082 Russian forums. Use Google or Yandex Translate to read through them in English. Video on the President-S right on the 1st page, but it's in Russian. Also, http://www.deagel.com/Protection-Systems/President-S_a003126001.aspx Looks like it's composed of a bunch of different modules for detecting and jamming IR, radar, and EO.

Then don't buy it. Your one of the few who doesn't want it. Just don't buy it. I don't know what else to tell you. But of course, you weren't going to buy it anyway. Meanwhile, the "War Thunder Crowd" has their wallets open.

Lol, we'll, the R-73 is on the Ka-50-2, so I'm ok with it on the Ka-50ED. Especially since the Apache and the Cobra can both carry Sidewinder. Not sure exactly how high or fast you have to be to successfully launch those, though. As for FLIR, we now know that the Shkval was eventually dumped, and the Ka-52 uses the GOES-451. Therefore, so probably would the modern Ka-50. So, not fantasy. Just one of the many REAL pieces that needs to be brought together to form the modern Ka-50ED.
-
@M1 - Exactly. We want what should have been, as close to reality as we can come. Fri puts it best. The pieces are all there, they just need to be put together into one Ka-50.

Would love to see an AI Ka-52. As for the Shkval, according to Chizh and Laivynas, it was eventually dumped. As per S.E. Bulba, replaced on the Ka-52 with Goes-451. It would make a lot of sense to have a Ka-50 with the Goes-451. This gives you FLIR and the same system the Ka-52 is using. I can't see running around using ancient spotting flares on a modern 2019 battlefield :megalol:, when you have an advanced Ka-52 sending you target data. Shooting blindly into the dark seems ridiculous and "fantasy". Now ka-52 is a round-the-clock review and sighting system goes-451 (GOES-451). (Yandex Translate). x

Насколько реалистично моделируется шквал на Ка-50?
3WA replied to 3WA's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Черная Акула
Thanks! Very interesting. Maybe we'll get that on the new Ka-50ED. -

Wow, so what would they use to lock targets with now? Some new electro-optical system? Any links to what replaced it? And do you have plans to use it on the Ka-50ED? -
If you want an answer from the devs, you should probably ask on the Russian forums. That seems to be where they hang out.

Насколько реалистично моделируется шквал на Ка-50?

By Shkval, do you mean the FLIR (SAMSHIT), or the Day Scope we have on the Sim as well? -
Насколько реалистично моделируется шквал на Ка-50?
3WA replied to 3WA's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Черная Акула
Hey, Chizh. Could you say that in English? I can't get it to translate well. Thanks. привет, Чиж Не могли бы вы сказать это по-английски? Я не могу заставить его хорошо переводить. спасибо. x -
Personally, I think the Ka-50 is a special case. So far, an old prototype has been simulated. As real as they could make it. Now, I hope they will dig and pester Kamov on what would have been if they had brought the Ka-50 to full production. What were the latest plans? What would the cockpit have looked like? Is there a latest prototype at some stage of completion out there? Are there any already drawn up schematics? The leap from Ka-50 #25 to modern Ka-52 seems very dramatic. Surely, there was a Ka-50 that would have been near what the Ka-52 became. So far, I think reality would be Ka-52 style wing with 3 pylons ( why would you make 2 different wings? ) / Iglas available as loadout (it's in the Ka-50 #25s cockpit already. A-A selector switch ) / probably President-S (already on the Ka-52) / SAMSHIT in ball turret (already present on Ka-50N, Ka-50sh). And of course, ED giving us a more functional Shkval. As for the rest, radar, RWR, ECM, special systems, I don't know. The Ka-52 was meant to be the Group Leader and Command Controller, hanging back from the battlefield while the Ka-50's did the attack runs. One could therefore question whether the Ka-50 would need any of this. I want to keep this as close to reality as possible, but we are going to soon need a Russian heli that can confront an Apache on equal terms. Of course, in reality, this would be the Ka-52, but I doubt were are going to get that for now. :D I wouldn't mind it, any more than I mind FC3. It just depends on what you want to allow on your battlefields. ED is known for their realism, which is what most of us are into, but they also have to make money, and there are a lot of "Arma" style players out there who don't like 700 page instruction manuals. They can have their own servers. ED makes easy money, continues to make us awesome realistic simulations, Win / Win! x

Against anything heavier than a jeep or very light APC, you should try the 80mm rockets. They're a little tricky. I can't remember whether you aim slightly high or low, but it's one of those. The pipper is kind of off. Lase near the target to get the pipper in correct range if your using manual. Good manual standoff weapon against the tanks and their .50 cals. Medium burst is usually the best bet to get a hit.

It sure didn't in Falcon BMS. I don't think there was any "filter" you could hit, to tell the computer "no heli's". But it's been a few years since I flew the F-16 in BMS. Not sure if Ground Radar would see it or not either. Might show up as a vehicle. But I'm sure the radar would know what it was from it's unique Doppler signature.

If you want to get deeper into the discussion, you should read the Black Shark 3 thread, and if you REALLY want some news, load up Google Translate, and read the Russian Forums. I think Chizh promised more news in the Fall on one of his posts in the Russian Forums. The Producers don't seem to post much here in the English Forums. If you want info, you've got to go to the Ruskies. :) x

Fly it like you stole it! Yeah, sometimes the autopilot seems to cause the copter to "bind up", and I wonder if I should hit FD button when doing fast maneuvers. Probably what it was meant for. @AMS - No, auto-hover only works with the auto-pilot on. FD cuts off the channels, but still tries to control minor stability functions ( like keeping the nose from oscillating ). I think if you cut off all the channels, with FD off as well, then there is NO autopilot what-so-ever. Still a lot of mystery about the autopilot. According to ED, errors can build up as well, and I don't know what would clear those. I think there used to be a "reset AP switch", but it's not in the real Ka-50. x

LOL, "Vastly Superior". I would totally question that, and I'm an American. Probably what both Napolean and Hitler were thinking when they made the mistake of invading Russia. Again, why wouldn't the Ka-50 be able to carry the R-73? We see it on the old Ka-50-2. And that's no mockup. Personally, I think some Western Fanboys are just terrified of the Truth that the Russians are at least equal in our technology, if they care to build it. Russian Black Eagle tank, anyone? Ka-52 leading a wing of Ka-50's = AWESOME System. x
-
Read back about 5 pages, and you can catch up. @M1 - Really don't see myself carrying 2 R-73s, as I think it would be an expensive waste. MUCH rather carry six igla's. However, if both the Apache and the AH-1 can carry Sidearm and Sidewinder, why wouldn't the Ka-50 be able to carry the R-73?
-
Well, what I want to see is what the Ka-50 would have been now, if it had been truly produced. And that is a Ka-52 with a single cockpit. With whatever it needed to be the attack arm of the Ka-52 Group Leader. At LEAST Ka-52 style wing, Ka-52's FLIR / Shkval, President S, Igla's / possibly R-73, RWR?, Ka-52 level of cockpit, FIX the shkval's lock problems ( Can't lock a black heli against a clear sky at 8KM ).
-
Lol, yeah, it's the other helo's that will REALLY come after you!
-
I always just turn the shkval off, then back on. Been a while since I did this. I think it's BACKSPACE ? Or, you can just use the helmet mounted sight to just set it to somewhere new. Easiest thing to do. H button to pull up the sight. Then O to designate. Not sure about the shkval reseting on it's own. Though it does lose power once in a while, if you strain the engines.
-
It also makes no sense that an R-73 exhaust would affect the engines, but a KH-25ML would not. My thought on the R-73, is there a minimum speed / height needed to launch it? Not sure, as it is rail launched.
