Well, Chizh is saying no FLIR, so disappointed with it all. Maybe we can make a FLIR mod. It's on the A-10C, so maybe we can bring that code into the Shark. I just want to be able to target at night with FLIR. EXACTLY. Otherwise, what has really changed? +1. Would like to see that also. Really, this chopper hasn't change in ELEVEN YEARS.

Sure. ED is precious to all of us. But that doesn't mean you get to tell other people what modules they can and cannot have. Or ED, what they can build. If you don't like it, simply don't buy it. If you don't like it on your server, simply ban it. As I've already said, to me, the Ka-50 is a special case. It was never really beyond a prototype. The Ka-52 is the REAL helicopter that it became. I doubt that Russia will ever build a finished Ka-50 beyond the prototype stage. ED's probably going to make things I don't like, and go in directions I don't like (i.e. they already have). I simply don't buy what I don't like. But yeah, in the end, I DO understand what you guys are saying. And I think a lot of others who want the Ka-50ED do as well. You're arguments do make me think twice, even now. For us, this is a SPECIAL case. I really would like FLIR, but I would like it modeled as REALISTICALLY as possible.

We're all wanting something newer now, and since this thing was a prototype that was never made, we have to look at the Ka-52, which it became, and make our own single seat version. Most of us are going to play with the Ka-50ED offline, so it's not going to matter to rest of you. Seriously, do you ever see the Ka-50 played with online? I don't play online, but from the video's shown, I've only ever seen it used once. You would get OBLITERATED by the fighters. Besides, if people don't want to see it online, they can just ban it from their servers. I want to stay as close to realism as possible as well, but I want to go beyond 1990 era. In a helicopter that was never really built. Even some of the Russians are admitting this fact. So, it's already a fantasy helicopter. I am asking ED to go a little further and try and find out if they can model the GOES-451 ( the FLIR on the Ka-52) and it's corresponding instrument controllers with enough realism as to be within acceptable "realistic" limits. I completely understand what you are saying Bulba. And I agree with you to some point. I want to keep the realism in this sim as high as possible. But the fact remains, that this helicopter was dumped at some point, the shkval was dumped, the GOES-451 was brought in, and then the whole thing was made into the Ka-52. With very different instrument systems. What the People like me want, is what the Ka-50 would have been if it had been produced alongside the Ka-52. i.e. A MODERN version. One that can fly at NIGHT. We want to see FLIR, President-S, third rail, and Iglas. A lot of English speakers want RWR, but I assume that is included in the President-S. These modules are supposedly already on the Ka-52, with corresponding instrument systems. The Ka-50 was never really produced, so it's kind of already a fantasy copter. I don't want to have to eventually go against other players in AH-1W and AH-64? with a very old helicopter. Not to mention, fighter jets just swat us out of the sky, even if we are flying NOE with good cover. I had one A-10C destroy me with it's gun while I was flying about 5 feet above a road between two buildings and trees. They have sniper like abilities. I just hope ED can get enough information out of Kamov to realistically add the GOES-451 as well. You talk about realism, but how real does it have to be? If we are 1 meter / second off on how fast the Ka-50 can go, at maximum speed, does that really matter? I'm sure there are some guesses here already in the Ka-50. I would think it would depend on which way it's pushing into the wind. Flying forward, sideways, etc. But yeah, it seems somewhat simplistic in the sim.

LOL, yeah, I had a real laugh over that last one! I'm guessing there was some real errors in words there. If you use Yandex Translate, it shows that there are usually a couple of different words that you're English could be translated into. I'm sure it's the same for Russian. After I get translation in Russian, I again reverse translate it back to English, and then start kicking out words that don't make sense, and looking for new Russian words to replace them, until it comes out "readable". @Weta - Go ride you're Unicorn! :D Some good comments there, and looks like people realize that this thing was never produced and realize what we want is a MODERN version, that would have been produced. Of course, some of the problems such as secrecy and access are pointed out, but hopefully, ED can at least get some info on the Ka-52 control systems. The only other system I REALLY want is the GOES-451, so we can get FLIR. Shkval was dumped for GOOD reasons. I know a lot people here say they want RWR, so I mentioned that too. Well, if the GOES can't hook up to the instruments in the Ka-50, then the instruments should be replaced with the ones in the Ka-52. Well, while you guys are arguing whether a certain wire is blue or green on the original Ka-50, the people like me on the English forum would like to add a few things we'd like to see on the new Ka-50ED. I, for one, want to see the GOES-451 added on, so we can do night missions. We need FLIR in this sim! We need a heli that can take on a modern Apache or Cobra. You should translate this into Russian, and ask on the Russian forums. That's where you'll get some REAL answers on that. I wouldn't mind knowing that as well. Reading machine translation of the Russian isn't great, but you're able to get the general gist of what the Russian speakers are saying, usually. I've seen a lot of stuff from Russian books posted there. I'm quickly learning that the Russian forums are where all the producers hang out, and a lot of questions are being answered.

Yeah, it would be what ever the adapter is, and I'm sure they experimented with it. You should use a web translator like Google Translate or Yandex Translate, and read what the Russians are saying in their forums. A good thread on the BS3 in there. That's where the producers like Chizh are hanging out. Stuff that's not being said here.
