BAD FOLLISH IDEA!!!!!!

After almost 25 yrs of flat screen air combat flying. VR is the only way I will flight sim anymore. The advantages out weigh the disadvantages I think.

No It is would be a bad idea. Subscriptions always incur higher costs to the consumer . besides I am already invested purchasing the module I own . This has been brought up before and I wish this topic would just cease because most people don't want it.

Owned 3 headsets so far the Pimax 5k is the headset I use now. I had to reduce pixel density to use the Pimax on max FOV and the fact that DCS is power hungry but the capability of the headset to max is something that I like because the Pimax will not be obsolete for yrs. I changed the cheap head strap to a Vive deluxe headstrap with the built in headphones which is night and day results.

I have had 3 VR head sets ….. Rift CV1,, Samsung Odyssey standard and the Pimax5k+ . I think the Pimax is the most immersive and the clarity is the best. The Rift S is cheaper in price and I have tried one out but Pimax is better in my opinion. I use the Pimax at max field of view and it makes a difference in emersion . Screen door is not even an issue. Some people says that it has some distortion at the edges of the ultra wide settings but who the heck looks at the edges in real life. You turn your head to look at what you want to look at unless you have neck problems. Pay the extra money and you will have a headset that will not become obsolete foe a good while. I Didn't use the head strap that came with the unit but purchased a Deluxe Vive auto strap for $65 on Ebay and 3d printed the lugs that snap the Vive onto the head set

I have had the Pimax 5K for close to a year and have not used my Rift CV1 or my Odyssey and I know some people have had issues with Pimax but I have not had any problems other that the crappy head strap which I purchased a Vive Audio head strap and 3d printed lugs to mount the head strap . I love the sharpness of the 5K and FOV with virtually not screen door effect. I have had to reduce pixel density in DCS in order to get good frame rate but that's all. I have preordered the Pimax 8KX for the future and would recommend Pimax over other headsets if you like to timker and have the best headset for the money in my opinion .

After decades of 2d flat world flight sims Thank God VR came matured and is offered to the public. If the 2d world wants to keep their flat screens and IR tracking thats ok with me . I am haveing a blast in VR.

have a 3D printing business and turn out aviation and automotive as well as other projects. I think 3d printing is a great tech if you can get the printer tweaked the way to make successful prints and know CAD . Lot of trial fitting to get a design right sometimes. When the printer malfunctions can be a love hate relationship not to mention https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=210454&stc=1&d=1558326554the waste of plastic.

I agree after 3 yrs in VR DCS is the main reason I use it . One day wanted to use my 4k monitors and ir tracking and harder for me if I do not use VR and also air combat knife fights around 3 to 4 hundred yards are not a problem at all. I can see aircraft just fine with textures and even the pilot strapped in. The emersion factor is something like being straped in the cockpit. At a distance of about 3 miles I can pick out the aircraft good enough. I have invested in the Pimax 5K+ and will be a step up in res and also adjustable FOV. With future updates to eyetracking etc it should take some of the load off of the GPU. Its just not possible to go back to 2d screens. Long live VR
