  1. Did you use the salute button or the radio menu to launch?
  2. Actually your 2nd point made me think, and I came up with a solution that would be relatively easy to implement. A few hours work. So any time during the briefing you can skip it. Although I HIGHLY recommend not to do it (if you messed up it's probably because you missed something important), but when you refly the mission for the 4th time it's a welcome addition. I'll add this feature to MIG Killers too. Thanks for the idea!
  3. @seprudathanks for the feedback. I totally see whant you mean, and these are the downsides of military aviation. Lots of repetitive tedious procedures and then a little bit of fun/terror. I actually enjoy the admin parts a lot this campaign was built in cooperation with Bio, a RL Topgun instructor and he wanted to make sure we don’t publish amy classified information anout tactics and weapons. Which is quite understandable. this being said, if you play Speed n Angels first, Paco will teach you a lot about basic combat tactics, and Zone 5 will make a lot more sense after that one. Also, I’m working on MIg Killers, a Topgun 1969 campaign which will havy PLENTY of tactics training, specific maneuvers, etc…which will also help a lot. I agree a savegame feature would be great. This is why I set up SnA - and MIG killers in separate mission files for the engagements, so they can be repeated indefinitely. and yes, as @draconus said above there are 3 airstart practice missions in the campaign’s folder for you to practice without having to go theough the admin part
  4. Those Tomcat loadouts were pretty common in the late 80s. Check out Bio’s pics. the Hornets, don’t worry about them, I gave them whatever the AI needed to carry out the tasks they should be out of sight anyways
  5. Thanks!
  6. 1) I thought about that but there are so many tasks and each of them is so short that the mission would feel too fragmented. Like a separate mission file for the loop? See what I mean? 2) I get that too, but if you use time acceleration it only takes 10-15 seconds.
  7. No idea, gotta ask him
  8. That's definitely not it. Better run a slow repair. Also, do you have the latest version of excel? This one opens up fine for me
  9. It loads for me too, try running a slow repair.
  10. You need to use the mic pushbutton of whichever radio is set to the tanker’s freq
  11. In the Navy they communicated with hand signals, so I can't implement that
  12. Thanks, can you save a DCS track please? ED will be asking for that, they can't debug using a TacView.
  13. I'm working on new, fully automated and interactive checklists for MIG Killers, my upcoming F-4 campaign as well as my 3 F-14 Tomcat campaigns. It's a lot of work to convert those 3, but I hope you'll like the update.
  14. I just played that mission 5 minutes ago and had no problem. a) you have unofficial mods installed b) run a slow repair c) you didn't get close enough (within a few hundred feet) d) it's this: Also, did you salute to the shooter using the key combo or the radio menu? In any case, next time it happens please attach a track here. Thanks!
  15. BTW I'm working o a pretty cool update for my Tomcat campaigns, more info later
  16. Yeah, when they implement the flight deck directors, I'll have to redo all carrier missions anyway to follow the new logic. Now it's quite a mess for sure.
  17. I checked the skin, that file is there, not sure why DCS cannot load it. Also, the mission loads just fine for me
  18. It’s a heartfelt gift for all you HUD cripples out there *evil laugh*
  19. Well the stock radio menu is a DCS feature I have no influence over. But…having mods installed always causes trouble so I would start there.
  20. The length of the mission is what it was in real life so it’s really your decision. Yes they sometimes landed elsewhere when they got lost or low on fuel.
  21. It's the one and only grade sheet. Maybe you didn't scroll fully up?
  22. Ever since the release of the SC I've had this problem sometimes, that some cats wouldn't notice me...you just need to stop and stand on the brakes behind the JBD, with your nose pointed at the director. I haven't fully figured it out yet, but it's a SC thing. It will change once the taxi directors are released.
  23. A bunch of Hornets are parked on Cat 2, I suggest you choose a different one
  24. Sounds like you followed the wrong flight.
  25. Yes you fly east then north. Nonody has had this problem before. Do you have any mods installed? Or maybe you were just impatient? The squadron turns north near Evreux
