Mission 3, scripting error crash
Reflected replied to ww3231's topic in DCS: P-51D Debden Eagles Campaign
Sorry guys, this still stands. The script gives you an error when the units it’s meant for are not alive. But for me they always are. By the way if you hit Esc when it pops up, the mission will go on -
F-4 Phantom Campaign announcement: 'MIG Killers'
Reflected replied to Reflected's topic in Community News
I'd Say SA first - it's an undergraduate training. It teaches you how to become a fighter pilot. You don't go to Topgun before earning your wings THEN MIG Killers, which is the earlier Topgun Syllabus, and then Zone 5, which is an evolved version of that from the 80s. -

Hopefully in the next one, but that's not up to me -
Paradise Lost - Complete revamp with Massun's asset pack - Performance optimization - Old F-4 model replaced with the new Heatblur model - AI pathfinding issue fixes Zone 5 - M3 - Added the option to choose a gameplan - Old F-4 model replaced with the new Heatblur model - already g-warm selected for airstart missions Speed & Angels - already g-warm selected for airstart missions - Mission 12 - trigger safeguard added for players that don't follow procedures - Mission 15 - AI MIG-21s tuned down a bit Hunters over the Yalu - Air bases reworked with Massun's asset pack

Thanks we’re all aware of this workaround, the point of this thread is that it shpuld happen twice per mission in the first place.

This is the intro video of Mission 1 of the MIG Killers DCS F-4 Campaign. In 1969 the first Topgun course began with a fam flight, where the instructor sat in the front with the student in the back. He demonstrated some confidence builder maneuvers, they landed, switched seats and then the student performed them. It's interesting to note that during the regular training course Naval aviators hadn't really been allowed to push their F-4s to the edge of the envelope, so some were taken by surprise when the instructors zoomed up until the jet ran out of airspeed and slid back tail first. Due to DCS limitations the players can go through the first part of the fam flight in the form of this video. The actual mission will start after the instructor and the student swapped seats, and the jet has been refueled. Enjoy!

I noticed during testing this campaign but apparently it's not just me. One of the drop tanks empties much faster than the other one:
-
Yes this is a known workaround but still not OK having to do this on every mission. Also, yes, it's a VRAM issue, but if from one update to the next the game becomes nearly unplayable, yes of course it can be solved by buying even more and more VRAM and better gear, but it's not a real solution. The solution is to fix the code. Every time you mess it up you can't throw your hands up and tell everyone their PC is officially outdated from this day on.

D-Day 80th Anniversary Screenshot Contest
Reflected replied to Reflected's topic in Reflected Simulations
The contest is now closed, thank you to everyone who participated. The 3 winners are: @Ghost79 @algherghezghez And matttt from Discord Winners, please pm me your login email and campaign of choice -
Is there any official word on this? Apparently the February update made it very bad for a lot of people, it's not like our hardware became outdated from one day to another. Something is really wrong with how DCS uses VRAM. Any plans or solutions in the pipeline please?

90% A2A, 10% A2G. But I have a future project that is just the opposite -

The F-4 is basically a warbird with jet engines, that's why I love it -

Wrong radio transmit button. You’re probably keying the front radio. -

More details about the syllabus: -
Let me share more details about the syllabus of my upcoming MIG Killers DCS campaign for the Heatblur F-4 Phantom. Its aim is to recreate the first class of Topgun in 1969 as realistically as possible.

Yes, it’s gonna be updated with the new Massun assets. But not with the FC4 Sabre

Mission 12 - Paco orbits overhead mother forever.

Thanks! Yepp, just what I thought. It's what I described in my post above yours. -
Which flight model should I use?
Reflected replied to gachatar's topic in UH-1H Paradise Lost Campaign
Yes the campaign was 'rebalanced' for the new FM. You couldn't even use the old FM if you wanted to. -
It means ED found the bug and fixed it, but since there hasn't been any public updates, we still don't have that fix in our installs.

Mission 12 - Paco orbits overhead mother forever.
Reflected replied to 5EVC Tiger's topic in Bugs and Problems
I think I found the problem: To work around AI limitations and make sure bugs don't happen, there are 2 Pacos: one that launches then orbits, and on that orbits and then performs the mission. These 2 are swapped when the player is airborne, and these conditions are met: 1) you used the salute button and see the glove animation - like the briefing tells you to 2) you performed the takeoff checklist and you hear Slick say 'Alright, running up, here's the wipeout' (you need to be in mil power, hooked up to the cat, like IRL) 3) you're faster than 140 knots Apparently some player, for some reason are not meeting all conditions. If you're trying to join up on a unit called 'Pacodel', then it won't work for sure, because they haven't been swapped. If you follow procedures and checklists, they will. -
Mission 12 paco orbits above mother endlessly

Have you read the other thread? I even asked you a question there. Why does there need to be 2 separate threads so I can type the same thing twice and other people might get confused or lost? every time someone reports this problem I replay the mission and it works just fine. There are problems with the DCS core code but I have no access to that. But I already wrote this in the other thread. So please if next time it happens take that screenshot for me. Thanks.
