Ive asked for this several times ( you can even search my posts ) I DID get HB to say theyd consider it before This is my case Near the scope, the DDD, theres only like 7 buttons. this is right in your face eye level. one of those is IFF INTERROGATE. apparently someone thought this important, right? I dnt care if the game cheats and magically reveals friendly or not when pressed if I ask jester, or whatever they do, but Id REALLY like a jester>BVR>IFF INT. with either a callout and him marking it (it is a rio function a human can do, using the data wheel) or whatever. I will say, though he does say buddy lock etc, if theres a lot of contacts, and youre STTing them to go through them and try to see who is hostile, sometimes he will be 'overwhelmed' with calls, or not call it, or a newer sound gets played over it - regardless its led to friendly fire incidents for me in SP. In MP with a rio this is solvable, but this is VERY important just like a jester being able to LGB (even if its not use lantirn, but you designating a primary and secondary with f10, anything, and you tell jester >grnd attack> LGBs> then have a target primary and target secondary option. And... basically if you get in parameters idk it just works - again even if it cheats a little. the alternative is stop suppressing the mod that let you use lantirn from front seat. MP this is grim because you cant switch seats BUMP
  2. also I thought there was a timer button but dont see one. I dont even touch the damned thing after messing with it once and regretting it terribly
  3. apparently known - extinguishers dont work in the A engine fires are surprisingly common, and not even at high alpha maneuvers or in combat. my last sortie as multicrew, on the way back the pilot nosed down a little to push past transonic because the bug. both engines suddenly went aflame.. for no apparent reason. this has happened at least 5 for sure times with no enemy damage and way above bird height since the A came out. I have tracks next point - you can fly for a LONG time with fires. IDK how long, but we flew several minutes with a double engine fire yesterday. I havent tested it, but it almost seems like you can ignore it? anyone else?
  4. its easy to miss a lot of the stuff 'thats already been discussed' go easy bulba, I like you, at least what Ive read so far... I just was bringing up something i recalled; I didnt say I knew for a fact. (once again, like the hovering issue) I suppose the V modification came out long after the Falangas had been replaced? I know the shturm was designed for the Mi24 but the Mi24 was ready pretty early and used falangas for awhile. Also out of curiousity, if thats wrong about missiles on the interior - if you scroll up in this thread theres a classic armament/hardpoint pic of a Mi24. all the atgms are on outer pylons. even max load. ..? also really curious if we will have R60s adaptions as an option.. otherwise, besides E germany, did the hinds ever have air to air missiles? i was stunned in the ka50 that the vikhr is supposed to be anti air as well. youd think theyd put a classsic heat seeker, even like an apache with a stinger having an igla option as a heat seeker is fire and forgret..
  5. its called that because 80% of nations populaces arent military nerds like us and need things explained VERY simply. go on quora, americans there will have you thinking the P47 and A10 were aerial battleships meant to take severe hits all the way through their journey. they go ape when you say that, or to russians the su25, is sheer nonsense as its an airplane and its just more protection for the pilot at worst and at best maybe let the plane limp home.   6. it does look a ton of fun. I wish DCS modelled splash damage better as itd immensely help rockets and bombs. And we all know how the Sovs loved rockets... on Su25s, Mi24s, trucks... watever Id always read and watched in wings of the red star that having missiles on the inner pylons REALLY caused problems? all im gonnna say is PC already stole my money before with the Gazelle they can %#@*%#()#%@ off with their OH58

  8. I think you chose well - I hear great things about that module. I own the UH1 and love it The gazelle and KA50.. I wouldnt advocate for as much. i know peoples heads are gonna fcking explode but I just.. dont like the KA50. IDK why.. the gazelle is a different story, different reasons I dont really like it.
  9. i noticed this too even w.o snakeyes. it must be the bomb release spacing. Ive tried dropping multiple GBUs on a target and besides them not tracking also many times theyd kill us in the plane on pickle
  10. i really do have the bizarre track of us spending 20 mins shadowing a 135 and calling it, reading the briefing 20x to check, messing endlessly with the radios, checking chat on the freq and if it worked... lol it was hoggit, im just saying this because i probably sound crazy or overreactive. but whateever happened on the end of me and this guy in in denmark, we have more than one game (though this was the one we sat there and endlessly tried) where they wouldnt work. Still, theyve worked... as far as I can tell in the MP ive played lately. I should also note I usually dont fly hoggit or 104th. I almost exclusively fly clan servers or sp..
  11. Yessir, and im well aware that the 159 is the pilots and the 182 is the rios and can reach lower freqs that the pilots often cannot. i also know shift uses ICS. I havent used EZ comms in 4 years BESIDES when regular comms wouldnt work to my dismay in a DCE campaign. thank you though, Im sure many people were stymied by that.. sir, I know how to do it, as I got it to work before. For some reason on Hoggit, it wouldnt work and I have my track as rio and can get the pilots. Mike asked me to try 104th where it did work. I will ask what you mean by modulation, do you mean AM / FM? I frankly dont knoow how to tell unless it tells me, I just punch in the numbers . Nevertheless, for whatever reason, I was doing what Ive done millions of times and had problems. Theyve almost entirely gone away, and Im not saying it isnt user error, but damned if I can figure it out and Ive been VERY attentive to when I try new things.. lets say this became something of an obsession because at the time I had joined a online squadron and I kept seeming to not be able to use comms like everyone else ( all f18s though ) and continously had to be 'that guy' everyone was running TS for whilst using SRS too.. so yeah i ended up learning the radio and it thoroughly at that time, and its so rote it 'feels weird' to do something new... Now that rant said, everythings working and stuff but SC, on the final landing theres sometimes issues, though sometimes not. Theres something with the LSO grading I think, I keep getting NCs when I definitely C'd
  12. ok first. I dont have a virpil. That said, thats a bug. Theres no way, no reason, that having a weapons selector in the wrong position would preclude you from changing weapons. indeed thats *crippling* The question is, is it a virpil or a DCS bug. I suggest posting in bugs forum. this isnt a 'feature' ill further add that with my thrustmaster ive never seen anything like that. and Ive never had my weapons stuck to gun. even if there WERENT WEAPONS it'd say SP or PH 0 for example

First of all If its ONE CAMPAIGN ONLY - I choose Iran v Iraq OR IRIAF over PG ****IF**** if you can make it a F14A Otherwise, a US F14 campaign with the A. if you cannot, a F14B but pick one of the ones thats later (TF68 Persian gulf maybe, where A would be cauacauses..) I have NOT tinkered with my campaigns!! they suddenly broke mon ami! seriously! I wish you could just teach me how to do this, and this is such a shame as p80 modified the flanker campaign so I could fly my Jf17. But no - I need a tomcat DCE. this is literally unacceptable in my life LOL Also - hate to admit it, but here are some screens. more specifically what do you need? Say for Iran Irak, Iran Tomcat PG, or Battle group Alpha, any one of those? For an error message ,if you scroll up and see other peoples error message its like the exact same message. I get a pop up error when I start mission. If I hit ok I can fly, but when i quit it reappears. I hit ok, but DCE never runs. Some DCE campaigns will still go - others flat out refuse to run anymore.   15. I didnt try with the hornet but when the modules were all free I admit I sinned and entered the sacrilegious bug. I got a 3 wire MY FIRST TIME EVER IN THE PLANE. I was disgusted and immediately moved on. LOL the Jeff I was shocked I connnected.. for half a second. I dont get it, I just cant get it though. maybe if I had vr. howeveer, luckily, the F14 doesnt really need refueling. I just feel guilty bc I know IRL the USAF and USN Refuel almost as a matter of course every mission and I feel like a poser. then i stop myself because im playing a video game as an adult and im being ridiculous overthinking it.
  16. I tried this afternoon, using a bound key and fuel shutoff, the fire never stopped considering youre the real deal - how long IRL could a F14 stream flame like that from an engine without a catastrophic explosion? In my case, I literally flew around for about 15 minutes on fire.
  17. when you do if im around, I can teach you rio, the guides are good but each has tiny errors that will having u banging ur head on the wall, things that wouldnt have say happened to me if id been able to just ask someone for example entering waypoints EVERY INSTRUCTION has you pressing, I forget if its clear or the NE button 1 too many times. Once I eventually realized this by accident voila everything worked.
  18. no. Its basically the exact same plane, with a bug near mach 1, and engines that are more tempermental but not Half as bad as thought. Its... almost the exact same plane. prolly cuz its new I like the A more right now LOL but.. I think its just new. but its almost impossible, for me, to see any difference at all in cockpit
  19. There ARE stocks on carriers and airfields in the ME. I dont know much about it besides its there. u may not be able to eveen modify it. However, then agian, Ive been at fields that didnt have Aim54s, and later landed on a carrier and voila they had them.... FWIW
  20. EST but lots of spare time... I have a spotty history with squadrons though. not gonna lie. I seem to be a polarizing guy, you love me or hate me. LOL Im 95% in RIO seat, I can do almost everythng, its just the very very detailed Radar functions that Im still a little iffy on. LGBs, targetting, tacan, radio all that yes Pilot same. I can cold start both, and know where all the switches are. I can even train new pilots from the back seat. ( seriously ) So if you guys wanna give me a shot. Im not on bad terms with my last squadron, and probably should have kept my mouth shut about my complaints that we never practiced air to air with humans. I really dont wanna air dirty laundry all over though. This perhaps makes me look bad, but Im just being honest. if you have any american members tell them Im a bostonian and theyll get it. we're assholes i really really have some stresssful stuff coming up, and so I hope to hear from you, as I REALLY would love to fly. I have errands now (1054 AM EST) but will be back in 4 or 5 houurs. The time difference doesnt matter, Im not working december. motorcycle accident compounded covid related employment issues. full disclosure I CANT refuel. I still practice trying ive only ever connected in the Jeff and never got fuel cuz it disco'd that quick. I can fly formation, but not the tight awesome formations like AG51 (my previous squad) flew. Otherwise, I can LGB, dumb bomb, dogfight, trap in any conditions (though accidents happen sometimes) etc. Ive never HAD to refuel anyways in the F14, as operationally I go up to around 40k ft most the time. Oh and I despise F18s and mock F18 pilots.
  21. shoot it doesnt work? yes i realized what I thought it was is FUEL CUT OFF. You need to bind the extinguisher. I had thought thats why the fires from the tail werent going out. now im concerned. does HB know they dont work? Do you have a track? we need a track if we are gonna fix this. Also you wanna fly? either seat, but ill happily be rio. any time man. also im no veteran and def not an ex F14 jock. So maybe someone can chime in like @Spiceman or @sLYFa but I have tracks where we have a huge flame coming out of one engine, and we fly for several minutes.. Wouldnt there be an explosion IRL within a few minutes tops?
  22. well as it is now theyre dark grey. its a piece of yarn, im not asking for a sparrowhawk hud. just an idea, its fairly hard to see at times now. plain white would be perfect tbh.
  23. Ohhh I see your point. In flight i havent seen it go hard sideways, certainly some to the left or right though, i just thought perhaps a different color would make life easier. I do find it useful actually.
  24. Hello Razor - nice to see ya. No sir, I used the flapping as an example, not personal experience. Though thats interesting, I thought it could be either? Ive definitely seen it respond to wind sitting on the carrier deck, though it wasnt flapping hard sideways, but was definitely noticeable... Regardless Id be interested in other peoples thoughts, or if its moddable, on making the string a more visible color. Yes, yellow is going to one end, but the current color... I can see it, but it definitely would make my life a lot easier if it were even white or olive drab, both of which wouldnt be very flashy. ( i mean if youre going to notice a bright string theres no way you wouldnt have seen the gigantic F14 anyways) Also, I like to think im not that terrible a pilot that my plane would be so hopelessly out of trim. Anything from the F14 backwards I trim frequently. Some a lot more than others. The F14 I have to trim a lot I noticed especially after takeoff, and usually around 30 minutes into flight (im assuming this is a fuel issue) otherwise its situational but shes not a plane to let you get away with no trimming. Regardless I was merely using examples of scenarios to illustrate the point I was trying to make - mainly that as something that falls under extreme low priority/can anyone mod this if anyone else agreed or thought it a good idea.   25. hello, would having keys mapped matter? i thought pulling either handle from pilots seat (the black and yellow ones to the left and right of the missile keys and arming switch) for the engine on fire (i.e. pull the left one for left) is the same? Are you saying the bind uses a *different* extinguisher, or the actually pull knobs dont work? because I too have noticed in 3 - 5 fires, Ive never seen an extinguisher put em out. OTOH I will say, we've buzzed around A LONG TIME on fire without blowing up..
