  1. Hopefully we will get a full English mi24 manual
  2. Ok so there's two channel switches for radios on the right. The backmost one is for..? And the more forward one by the dust cover switch?
  3. Where do you enter the heading? Also does anyone know where you would enter ndb freqs? Is the backmost channel knob for the radio or nav?
  4. Hmm comp is for radio compass eh? Lol Would still really like any knowledge available to be shared.. whether it seems obvious or not it may not be to many people. I'd really like to know how to navigate using the ark. Also front bttm right the Doppler control panel.. I presume you only enter that info if you want to calculate drift from say a long flight leg? During start up when it says correction set to right what is it reffing?
  5. Anyone who speaks Russian or is really familiar with the equipment could help here. I have the English pit and trying to use chucks mi8 guide for the hind isn't working really well. Can anyone help with for example radio controls - what does setting the radio to 'comp' do etc. If anyone wants to help a huge help would be describing what the different settings for the radios and nav equipment would do. (Amongst other things lol)
  6. Next time it happens tell me if you notice a noise cut out or cut on. Also tell if your vert gyros warn lights come on and if your artificial horizon changes. I ask because sometimes my gyros seem to wonk out (much like the power shuts off for a few) and then I can hear the generator cut on. I can't figure out what the hell it is as it happens if I auto start or start her myself
  7. Try the last caucauses quick start kogori storm (however you spell). You won't have a zoomed in map either
  8. But the buttons don't seem to interact with the left right switch in between em?
  9. So many maps are just black for zoom ins which is a shame the map zoomed in is much more useful for the map display to me. Just off top of my head the last caucauses quick start can't zoom in; tonopah rest range airfield in Nevada can't, qeshm isle and bandar Abbas can't - does anyone know what determines if a zoom in is available?
  10. So like a backup? I need to try this with damage. It seems my wings get blown off.. alot.
  11. I won't even give them the time of day for a serious mission. If I really am worried about making a dent 8 shturms and 2 rocket pods is my goto. Otherwise 4 shturms and 2 pods. I've noticed unlike almost everyone else I prefer the cannon to be set on high rof (the fixed 30mm) considering you need to be precise in dcs and how drastically the rof is increased the high rate to me seems perfect almost like a Russian Gau 8 lol
  12. Thanks besides all this I've answered the question myself. I'm onto wondering now about what the left right switch by vert gyro buttons does; Whether I need yaw and alt channel on for route ap; how sloppy can my hover be to engage hover AP; how the Doppler system works and a few other things
  13. It's not Everytime. But sometimes they go out and go back on. Especially there seems to be a 'bump' when I take off. Definitely got the throttle just mapped to keybrd. Increase at engine start and leave it. Thanks though. I'm really wondering 1. What's the left right switch do by the vert gyro buttons? 2.if they fail randomly is the answer to cycle your power source?
  14. What's with the route ap then? Can you activate say route ap or hover so without the yaw or alt channels on or do all need to be on? For hover how close to a dead non drift hover dya need to be?
  15. I can't make heads or tails of that thing. The grenades don't even consistently go long or short they're just all over the damn place
  16. For me a lot of the aspects that seemed uncontrollable or very difficult weren't that difficult to chop down to size and see lots of progress. You just have to get time in her. Mess with the trim a lot, change options etc. One thing is that because it's a helo you have to trim a lot more than a plane. Sometimes almost constantly. I at least am starting to get hovers down from speed and landing vertically as opposed to like a airplane. I also noticed changing the trim type in the special tab helped a lot. Before I had the non ffb stick option set. But the next one on the list works way better for me and the trim position holds my cyclic inputs as well now (something it didnt before) To what raven is saying I agree. Some people have entirely different setups - one guy has just hotas another none another hotas and pedals. If someone has those instruments they help but they can also hurt if they're not working right or calibrated correctly. I personally don't have pedals but have a hotas and I'm feeling it now
  17. The ship moving makes it harder IME with the huey. Very damn impressive that you landed her. I'm getting where I can do sorta hover landings without dying. However the accuracy is about the same as ww2 level bombing accuracy - success if I'm within a mile! There's a couple good variety scenarios to play. FARP Hollywood (Caucauses) and the same guys thing for Syria allow a good choice of targets and you obviously can just fly around. If you havent tried dce campaigns I really am a big fan and it gives combat missions. I know many people are very strict and wanna learn and master the helo before combat. For me since it's not real life I throw combat in while I'm learning anyways. Nothing like some combat missions to make you learn
  18. Yeah it seemed it wouldn't even move for me
  19. Hoo shit!! Goddamn man I need to get some lessons from you! Question - is their a burble for helos? PS you should add this in screens on the main thread man! You're probably one of the very first ppl to land that on a frigate
  20. Youve gotta be very careful and even though when successful it's a lot of fun overflying the target I've found in a high threat environment it's suicide really. I was doing a dce mission a little while ago and flew across the straight from qeshm to the mainland. I got 3 m60s and a zu23 no problem from a distance with 5 at 6s. The problem was then I saw nothing else and flew in to advance. I started getting hosed and also there was some iglas. I got the igla guy but the ground fire really chewed the hell out of me. Lost a wing and all that. I made it back to the farp but ended up as a flaming wreck trying to be cute and land from a hover. I don't think the thing that hosed me was even dedicated anti air I think it was just a 12.7 on a tank or apc. Anyways being super cautious is really the only realistic choice.
  21. I adore how the hind sounds. I've also noticed the noise of the helicopter engines and apu is one of the best damage indicators you can have. Any change in that noise while in flight is a very bad sign
  22. It's a lot less stressful. I was just rdg your rotor bend thread I'm gonna go try to reproduce that. I have noticed the rotor being indestructible rn as ED alrdy knows I find myself subconsciously angle my rotor to shield towards threats
  23. All have been 'escort' missions for gazelles striking ewr or hawk sites. I'm assuming the escort is from ground threats on the way. I'm by no means an ace in the new module but it provides good practice anyways. It's pretty damned hard not gonna lie. The really accurate ground ai doesn't help either lol. But I can definitely see it being doable.
