  1. Ok, so there is your issue: ["resolution"] = "1024x768" Is the resolution that the game is running at, which is why you are seeing it as centered. Assuming your laptop screen is actually 1366 x 768, then you should change the resolution setting to this (you will need to edit the options.lua file) as follows: Make a copy of the options.lua file just incase (call it options.bak or something) , and make sure you use a propoer editor to do this, not notepad!...something like notepad++ Just under where it say ["multiMonitorSetup"] = "1camera", change ["aspect"] = 1.3333333333333, to read ["aspect"] = 1.7786458333333, In the bottom section ["graphics"] = { Change these values: ["resolution"] = "1024x768", to read ["resolution"] = "1366x768", ["width"] = 1024, to read ["width"] = 1366, save the file, and run the game, and be amazed and happy that it all works again Dont worry about the line that says ["resolution"] = "640x480", that is just defining the res that in game movies / avi's would play at..that should stay as is.
  2. The crazy thing is, both Single player and Multiplayer use exactly the same configuration for Graphic setup, including screen res :( - What is the native resolution of your laptop screen (is 1366*768 native, or non?). - Try changing the Graphical settings to run "windowed" , and then test again in both Single Player and Multiplayer. - Cut and paste the contents of your options.lua file (X:\install_path\BlackShark\BlackShark\data\scripts\options.lua) here so we can see your settings... (open in notepad, or wordpad o the win7 equivalent and just copy the contents out into a post)
  3. I'm pretty sure that this vegetation essentially comes for free with modern GPU's and directx in terms of FPS / update
  4. After whatching the "Joint Fires" TBS video (http://www.thebattlesim.com/index.php?end_pos=133&scr=products&lang=en). - An interactive commander mode in multiplayer able to use the map to call in actions - Context sensitive actions on the map for the commander ala BF2 / Project Reality command, or Natural Selection Be that directing friendly human units , and helping to co-ordinate ground and air attacks ... Though not a strictly "realistic" role, think of it as a combined jtac / awacs / GCI in a single person, with a "god eye" (well..restricted to what is visible over friendly datalink). ...just a thought..I'm sure I'm not the first to ask for it...it could certainly spice up DCS and Lockon2.0 multiplayer
  5. yeah, new trim is great, but it is also the cause of 99% of my VRS / Crashes from deadstick too close to the ground with unintended / subconscious rudder input...
  6. well...if they can make FC2.0 interoperable with DCS:BS, I see no issue with making it intereoperable with DCS:Hog or any future modules...just multiplayer client connections... Perhaps it will be possible for mission makers to stipulate what type of A10 (for eg) to have in a slot, FC2.0 or DCS...? ...or for servers to only allow DCS connections and not FC2.0 ... As for the possible differential between the DCS A10 or the FC2.0 A10...well, for starters the DCS A10 is an A10c, whereas the FC Hog is an A10a .. so, the DCS hog should be a far greater threat despite any additional pilot workload. ...and besides, who is not going to update to a kick ass FM and weapons workflow and 6dof cockpit?...who cares if the FC Hog is easier to fly...
  7. I think the implication is that they have maybe 3d'ised some of the cockpit elements , but that they wouldn't necessarily stand up to full motion freedom?...enough to see paralax from a protruding object, but not enough to be able to look Under a console.. just guess work though..
  8. it's a great suggestion.. So great infact, that it has allready been implemented in th game! :) Make sure you patch your game to latest version (1.0.1c) , and you will see there is a new trimming method that is similarto what you have suggested.. The only diference beeing that, instead of having to hold the trim button, the program ignores all joystick input after the trimmer is released UNTIL the joystick is returned to 0,0 ... you can return it quickly or slowly, and not have any problem, and as soon as it hits 0.0 , control authority is returned to the pilot. Patch and give it a go...you can toggle between the old and new trimming methods in options if patched.
  9. its a bit like traction control in a fast car...if you're driving for safety (like, technically you should allways be!) , leave it on...if you're out for a hoon though....turn it off and deal with the consequences (both positive and negative). I think it makes sence, just like with these "real pilots" we hear about to learn how to fly it "safely" before trying to put it through the wringer. end of the day, its a game tho, so whatever is fun is right
  10. That would undoubtedly be an awesome Sim, however ED have never mentioned it as beeing in a state of development...the following aircraft have been released as beeing in "some form of development": A10 a / c AH64a MI24 F15c F16c Mig29a SU27 However, ED have also consistantly said that Miliatary contracts can and will effect the entertainment side as well, so if ED (TFC) are developing an AC130 DTS , it is possible that it could translate into a DCS product over the next few years?
  11. w00t!!!!! Great Stuff ED!!!!!! Cannot Wait!
  12. Cumulative, you should only install 1.0.1c (a and b are obselete)
  13. Try the "press and hold" trim method, see if that helps... ie press and hold the trim button during any maneuvering, and release it once you are at the desired attitude and heading. Pressing and holding the trim button releases any control the AP has for the duration of the hold, and when released, will set the new Desired Heading to the AP.
  14. well, he's Australian, so I wouldnt get too wound up about it. Looking forward to giving it a go Mark!
  15. I haven't looked at you tracks sorry, but rotor clashes will happen in all kinds of differnt scenarios.. The most common is exceding safe forward air speed. There are indicators to let you know you are approaching or above the safe max airspeed, the primary of which is the Velocity Warning alarm, which is pretty pervasive loud beeping! If you hear this, you are going too fast!, and you must slow down (pull the nose up a little bit, and lower collective a little bit) or else the blades could flap together. The Safe max airspeed is a function of altitude / air pressure I believe, and also loaded mass of the Shark.. It is indicated on the HUD as a tick mark on the Air Speed Indicator bar (upper left HUD)..usually somewhere between 270 and 300 KPH.
  16. ah thanks, I thought AA and AAHO also affected the ballistics calcs! Makes sence that is for prox fusing instead...
  17. - Select "AA" and "AA/HO" targeting modes. - Laser must be on, as range affects the ballistic offset for the cannon. - Don't expect your rounds to hit if they are anything but head on untill they get within 1.5 - 2 km's
  18. The only feedback you get is the clicky sound, and you will only get that if you have updated to the latest patch! Double check all your key bindings in both "Simulation" and "Game" control sets.
  19. I don't think lua export (or any network!) could ever supply the pure amount of data flow that outputting a full 3d direct x image at any resolution would require....
  20. I've not noticed any significant difference, however I have allways had to re-trim several times to give the autopilot enough authority to cancel out fully and get stable.
  21. yeah, the Shark is pretty heavy...but the brakes definately do work...it is good if you also help by neutralising any cyclic input as well. Steering on the ground shouldnt be done by rudder, but by cyclic input btw :P
  22. "possibly"
  23. ^^ having altitude hold on will "auto collective" up to 20% of the collectives range. You can use the Collective Brake key to set the goal altitude to the current altitude. Otherwise, no there is no other collective auto pilot (thats what the Alt hold is!)
  24. I use f/d for unguided weapon runs, also with fixed gunsight. It's the only time I find it usefull, and I honestly think thats mostly because I use the same finger to press trim as to launch weps (thumb!) ... If I could trim AND launch weps at the same time, I probably wouldn't need F/D mode at all...
