[RESOLVED] Auto wing sweep not working under G's
HawkDCS replied to Hummingbird's topic in Bugs and Problems
Sweep speed looks a bit low aswell. I wonder if due to it not moving properly at low G maneuvers. I haven't tested it myself. In a high G turn you would have to continue accelerating for the CADC to schedule the wings back further. They wont sweep due to G AFAIK. If you are accelerating in a 4.5G turn and they are not sweeping further then yes theres a problem. Mastiff make sure lever is in spider detent pushed down and cover is closed. Hit Auto switch on throttle and Master Reset and CADC warning will go out. -
When switching to Jesters/RIO seat on ground the AI Pilot always throttles way up and starts to drag aircraft for me. This even goes on when parking brake is on. This is a pain when you wanna hop back and set a few systems to your liking that Jester can't handle yet. Can AI pilot just be disabled with weight on wheels? Not like he is going to taxi and take off.

I too would like a clean A and B cockpit at some point. If HB never does it sure the community will. The F14 is a work of art as it is but would be nice to have a new pit to admire.

[KNOWN ISSUE] Ground Air and Power Not Disconnecting
HawkDCS replied to HawkDCS's topic in Bugs and Problems
I know that, I didn't ask for them to be removed. Which is why usually in DCS when you move forward on ramp it breaks the connection to the ground cart etc. Ground usually says HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING. On F14 its basically staying attached the whole flight if you don't remove it. -
Hey all, I am having some issues calling Tanker and Awacs etc. I have tried setting the Freq on the pilot and the RIO radios and still cant contact them. Tried TR and TR/G modes switched back and forth which radio was being used nothing whats going on here? When I tuned to tanker on 251 I could hear his passing waypoint calls but he wouldn't answer me ever when I would call for gas?

Most planes in DCS if you move while Air/Power are hooked up ground crew yells at you I noticed in F14 they don't do this. I then shut down after a few missions I flew and still had Air/Power even after I flew the mission and came back. If you don't command removal you have air and power for whole flight right now. I flew for two hours came back and they were still plugged in. Pretty funny bug.

F14 Skinners thread (Paintkit in 1st post)
HawkDCS replied to David A Sell's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Would love to have VX9! -
I have tried to load all types of 20MM in the F14 and when I cold start the counter is always saying the plane has no gun ammo until I manually turn the round counter up from 0? Surely this is a bug or something ground crew would do? I have switched to guns several times and says 0 rounds because you gotta turn counter knob every flight.

I concur on all these points. Done some missions against even large bombers that you can see con trailing dead ahead and he can't find anything. We need a command also to somehow make him re search in front of the nose. I have been shot down twice due to him locking a target thats 40mi away and ignoring one 15 mi off my nose acting like it doesn't exist. I am sure they tried to balance him so hes not to good at finding everything. But when you can see stuff con trailing or firing missiles at you and he acts like nothing is going on it needs more work.

Does the 54A MK60 motor out range the 54C Mk47? Is there good breakdown on the differences in range?

No reason he cant just do his own version of the song people do covers all the time. Sega is very open to fans remaking games and music etc. Shoot Meteor a message on his FB page he usually answers.

What new feature of the Hornet are you most looking forward to?
HawkDCS replied to Wags's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
This +1! Also we need iff that works properly if you play online current iteration isn't stable and causes many friendly fire incidents as it randomly changes its mind on what is a friend or foe. If this falls under A/A radar etc thats up to you but having radar contacts that dont tell you type or IFF makes it very worthless in A/A. -
** AJS-37 Viggen Update! New Afterburners & Features! **

Elgato Stream Deck as configurable button box
HawkDCS replied to Ranma13's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Is there anyway to make the Elgato software see left versus right shift etc. Seems it sees them the same? -
On the water setting when you reload from F11 Map sometimes textures load slow and you can see the water layer under all the land. It would seem all the maps are rendering a water layer even under the land.

This was my post in another thread I also found several other GE sources that showed less then 4 seconds idle to mil. I was just looking at some documents and several of them have said under 4 seconds from IDLE to initial A/B light on the F404. I know A/B light time is random as engine has to go through the process etc. I have tried to time it in the sim and even if only count time after I push throttle full forward its 5.5-6.5 seconds from idle to 100% I wonder if this is why some feel the drag is to high or very easy to get behind the power curve. This is measuring it after I already pushed throttles up so thats letting engines get up about 75% before I even hit timer lol. If I time from when I start moving throttle it takes about 6.5 or little over like theres a bit of lag for the command to hit FADEC or we. I am only timing to 100% on display not A/B light etc. Is the throttle response to slow? I know the turbines spool from Low RPM slower then High RPM but even on the Wiki it says the F404 was known to respond fast for carrier ops. Says around 4 seconds for idle to lighting A/B. This is what several documents show online aswell. In the GE document it says on average 3.25 seconds from idle to full thrust. The F404 in game doesn't spool idle to full thrust in 5 seconds let alone 3.25.
