It comes down to the airfields are just much to close IMO. Too easy to takeoff fly 5 minutes and be on top of the enemy base. Just my thoughts

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9

+1 fog of war leave the kill messages to the warthunder fans -
I told myself I wasn't going to ready this entire thread, 4 pages in I just said well might as well keep going. My two cents for what it's worth, Razbam has done a fantastic job in implementing engine wear and tear with respect to limitations. DCS modules have been lacking this system for quite some time(minus the warbirds for the most part) Now the "rate" of wear and tear is probably a different discussion and extremely variable from meterogolical conditions, to different engines made at different assembly plants or whatever. The point is no two engines are exactly the same, so measuring rate of wear and tear is highly subjective and is why all engines have timetables of when their inspections are required. Players are not used to being "respectful" to their engine management use. So naturally what do we do? Make forum posts saying it must be a bug must be a bug. Well in this case I actually think not. Like others have stated in this thread I have successfully made numerous sorties 6-7 at a time with absolutely zero problem. I think proper procedure for coming into a vertical landing is very easily misunderstood and performed by the majority incorrectly. Expecting to have the outright engine power to just climb out of a nasty sink rate or improper approach. They shove the throttle up damage the engine and say the aircraft is bugged. Brings me back to the original m2000 days when F15/Su33 players said the mirage FM was bugged because they were being out turned and out "knifed" in the merge. Pay close attention to your power management, just because the limit is "780" or whatever it may be at that scenario, don't run at "780" and this bird will get you home just fine. Our entire squad has had absolutely zero problems with power *when* treating the aircraft properly. Great job and thank you RAZBAM! Keep up the good work.

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - Nevada - Round 1

Aww man such a bummer! In its current beta state the only real advantage it has over the A10A is the FLIR tho. Sad sad. Oh well, look forward to the next scenario then! -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - Nevada - Round 1

I know I'm late to the party with this question probably, but is there a plan to add harrier into BF Nevada on Wednesday if indeed it does get released?? -
I know it may not be intentional but using a closing server thread to advertise for your own server may not be the most tactful.

Flying a few AWLS approaches I noticed the localizer is deflecting in the opposite direction. Example Aircraft left of course, LOC needle deflected to left when it should be right and vice versa. Check screenshots Kobuletti airfield AWLS CH1 Tacan 67X The GS and LOC needles represent the approach correctly but like I said when intercepting to track the Course needle deflects opposite.

If there's no missles allowed can we go a day or two with no safe zones?! :)
-
I'm down for the no missles! I love seeing Bert use his a10 gun in the merge shreking modern fighters!
-
Damn they need to enforce sound volume levels server side and make it part of the IC. P51 sounds like a 737 spooling for takeoff when he's at idle crossing in front of yoj

My 2.1 with Normandy and every module except FC3 is just under 70gig if I recall. -

Any though of putting the Gazelle on bluefor? Could prove to be useful now with the reinforced airfields and REDFOR getting viggins :) not to mention her new FM update making her to a joy to fly again -

Yeah if the gaz was to be added id say no troop capability. And the ka50 would be too op. Just adding gaz in response to the viggen -

Hey ciribob! Just curious, and I may have missed but has there ever been thought to adding Gazelle into mission in Nevada? With the increased ground units and REDFOR getting viggins, an M version could prove useful! Also it just received a marvelous FM update in 2.1 and the joy of flying her is back. -
Played for a 5 hour rotation today no crash Perhaps just some random wonkyness?

I am no professional but from my experience so far on this server id suggest to just do some basic tutorials on start up takeoff/landing procedures, make sure you know how to work the radios and do a complete read on the mission briefing and id say you would be good! I did stumble across some good mig drivers earlier while my squad was on, there a definitely some aces out there :) Ground targets are nice and juicy for HVAR rockets as well. Really enjoying this server! I will probably be buying the mig15 now too

Gar-8 didnt debut in korea, if i recall. So i dont think he will add it back in
-
or just add the server to your favorites and it will always be on the top of the list with a big gold star.

Personally from what I've experienced so far I like the way it's done. Receiving specific orders from atc. My question tho is when tuning to flight channel perhaps there can be an option to check in, just so players know it's working correctly? As in most combat AOs the flight would check in to the controlling agency anyway. I have been on flight channel with no updates or any chatter yet. (Will do more testing today) but I do think it was possibly because the migs I tangled with were out of ewr range. Either way, looking REALLY forward to doing some recon with the p51 as well! Gonna try and get our squad mates all on and have some real goes at the mission, we always talk about how the Korean era jets never really have a place anymore but are so well done. Well now they do! Can't express my excitement and gratitude anymore!:pilotfly:

I've been asking this since the beginning! :)

cockpit glass mod perhaps? or black cockpit mod? had to uninstall mine as well.

I love watching Airquakers try to kill Bert in his A10  @mirknir, what you mean no huey only weekend ever!;) I think we are beginning to beat a dead horse now, Id like to see the m2k de-fueld to at least make it possible for me to shoot one down in my f86 and be able to return to the safe zone before it spools up and fly's full burn through the conflict zone with all the lights on just to shoot me down as im e-gressing :joystick: Quick align? eh i can live with or without. It really is only like 3 additional button clicks, id like to see it disabled server side encouraging pilots to learn more about their aircraft other than just the G Key and missile fire.

I think I'm with hekktor on this one. You are settings fuel flow with the thrust lever. Period. Outside environmentals will play a part on what speed you will achieve with that power setting but you are commanding a specific and continuous fuel flow/thrust position. Now different environmentals will have an effect on fuel flow but with all things remaining constant it shouldn't change

F5-E (help) BFM and aircraft question to get better in flying :)
acdelta57 replied to _schepper_'s topic in DCS: F-5E
Something that has bugged me forever. For some reason even in NO visible moisture ED simulates the pitot tunes freezing....makes me pull my hair out. But yes, for the sake of getting your altimeter to work you need to turn your pitot heat on. Also try flying to and from the engagement area at 23000 that's what I did and seemed to work well. Be cautious of burner use! -
blast unfortunately i think your missing the point everyone else is trying to make here, yes more m2k slots would be nice on a larger map, which is coming. Until then it is not, and adding more m2k slots will only add to airquake in the current setup. So with that i bid you good day.
