  1. The red plunger below the throttle you keep moving? Normally used to prime the engine for start?
  2. As u can see 60 on the ground and 60 typically flying low level, a small dip in frames with the default fps counter when i press the screenshot button, but when looking at burning units it goes into the 40s. However like i said with the change you made its practically not noticeable and is working quite well.
  3. I too don't understand the priming?? Why are you priming before landing? Yes flying low level no problem but did u attack any ground units? @eekz I got on today and noticed the objective changed I will upload those screens shortly, the frame drop was significantly less and almost non existent. It seems to be when the units are on fire and you look at them seems to "bog down" but with the new objectives it was far less noticeable almost non existent. So whatever you did it seems To be working good!
  4. Ive been experimenting with 2.1 still trying to get the best FPS. Recently ive upgraded to a 1070 card as well. Ive been doing exclusive testing and have narrowed down something interesting on this server and was curious if anyone has experienced this. Could it be my end? server side? or ED side still (bug) Let me know what you guys think. In 2.1 I hold 60FPs (Vsync on) for most every situation now. However I have noticed when I destroy the supply base on BS my frames drop to the 20s and 30s. They will stay this way after a few vehicles have been exploded at that objective. They will continue this way for my duration on the server. However, if i disconnect and rejoin, im back at 60 locked...until i fly close enough to the supply base and it renders in the exploded vehicles and BAM back in the 30s. Anyone had a similar issue? Could it just be some problems with the asset pack units?
  5. I use a Saitek X56 with the semi frim spring (comparable stiffness to the TM) and never had a problem with the warbirds. In fact you can bind even more stuff to ur stick than what would realistically be there giving you a better advantage. You will probably have to adjust some curves, saturations and dead-zones to get the most effective use out of it. However, I recently bought a VKB gunfighter pro (20mm extension) and i must say it has changed my life with warbirds and helicopters. I run 0 curves or deadzones and the control felt is that of something amazing. They are on the pricey side but if you ever are in the market to get a lighter stick for some of the older aircraft I could not recommend it more. Im loving it so much ive even began flying modern jets with it as control is unparalleled.
  6. Shading/lighting problem with 1.5.7 nothing to do with the fog. It was fine before this patch. But oh well. Hopefully just a few more days til Friday and maybe some hot fixes
  7. AoA is the same principle for all aircraft. AoA is the angle between the wing chord line and relative wind. This has nothing to do with speed, pitch, roll or whatever. Each wing has a Critical angle of attack. This critical aoa will remain the same, but the factors causing the wing to reach that critical aoa may differ. Speed, bank, pitch just to name a few. This is why a wing will stall at any speed. So to answer the OPs question, no, "stick position" has nothing to do with critical AOA. The relationship between the wing and relative wind are the only thing that will impact the aircraft and its stall. Now what you do with the stick to place the wing at its critical aoa is a different story.
  8. Just an interesting tidbit for those having IC failure for a p51 cockpit texture failure or similar. My mate had the viggin installed and this module was the root cause of his IC failure even tho it said p51...etc. he de activated the viggin ran repair and was able to join in on the FW190 or p51. Not sure how they are tied together but thought I'd share the information as I have noticed BS to be quite empty lately. Has there been any thought to moving it back to 1.5.7 until stabilized on Normandy or is that a no go? Just curious. I love the Normandy map and the work done on BS but it is sad to see mostly 3-7 players on at a time with most freezing or DCing in flight due to freezes or what have you. Anyway on a positive note I love the airfield capture scripting and realsism of BS down to the liveries flown. Great server.
  9. Yes I do fly the Mig21. And yes getting up underneath a sophisticated fighter takes a very high level of SA. Also observing what other players are in engagements, what is the AI cap doing etc the list goes on. Having a sophisticated radar is not the only way to have SA. Oh I'm sorry snowflake, I forgot the "with all due respect" part, how inconsiderate of me to not take your personal feelings into account.. So I'll say it again, with all do respect* if you don't like the hard work Mirknir has done for this server, then take ur flying elsewhere. Surely you won't be missed.
  10. I do plenty well without a proper GCI in F5 shooting down all you glass monkeyz with ur heads down on the radar screen. Point is rex, I like the challenge, so do many others. With what mirknir has created its not necessary. You either like it or you dont, and if you dont then just fly elsewhere, surely you wont be missed
  11. You gotta remember Mirknir is trying to please everyone here with a standardization of simplicity and complexity. Bring fun for everyone on "equal" (as possible ) playing fields. He is not going for a level d simulation of realism. Why else would we have Mig21s fighting f15s su27 Sabres etc. if you want a realistic style of server there are multiple to choose from. Just my two cents.
  12. Me too, but also waiting for my Gunfighter pro to arrive! :) :)
  13. WTF man i beg to differ! helo party in progress, more to follow
  14. With the terrain on the southern side of the map and the locations of the AWACS placed in OC that couldn't be further from the truth
  15. You mean ghost out other players? Spectator is way different than being a GCI with proper radar
  16. ok you just reiterated exactly what I said so I don't know what your problem is. I was just trying to help you out. I referenced single player because you can add ur own waypoints in the ME as well as having stored waypoints. Check ur attitude at the door before you act like a know it all. No one likes an arrogant pilot that's how you get killed.
  17. Well for MP then you are correct as its still WIP to convert an INS waypoint to a landing point from the cockpit. It is possible tho. SP or stored landing fields and it works fine. However even with out this function yet you still have a fully functioning ILS so I don't really see a need for Mirknir to go add landing waypoints for all the mirage slots when the feature could be implemented any time.
  18. Synthetic overlay via raw data pilot input and no pre programmed waypoints/destination via mission editor or (mission data card RW) requires extensive knowledge and understanding of the m2k INS system. Yes it has to be a manually programmed waypoint, coded as landing and LOC/GS will need to oe programmed as well. For this task I refer you to the manual provided by razbam and the associated tutorial flights. In other words RTFM, a real world term we use which means (read the f***ing manual) :)
  19. For any aircraft wanting to have some sort of instrument approach procedure for Blue side Gelez here you go. Made it up this morning. Works quite well. Tested with L39. Your aircraft will require NDB tuning capability and even better if u can get distance from RSBN to help you within the circle. Mig21/all helicopters/L39/m2k/f86 and A10 should all be able to fly this properly. Good luck!
