Anyone interested in forming a training squadron?
deviletk replied to SunDown's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
How could i miss this thread? :) Im interested when i get my copy indeed. Im GMT+1 but have the luxury of being able to choose my hours (almost anyway). So i will get time when you got time for sure. Training squadron is exactlly what i was looking for. :) Regards Alex -
I would just like to hook up with some of you guys that arent in squads yet to have some practise flying together in MP. We all read the critical parts of the manual then we meet on a runway somewhere and practise. We share information between us as im sure everyone will have questions, and hopefully we will get tips from eachother and learn a little bit faster. And a little bit funnier. This is what i wanted with some friends of mine but im afraid the realistic mode scare them so im pretty much solo wich sucks a bit tbh. Pretty sure i wont be invited to someones server where missions are done to practise flying either lol. Some MP practise nights would make me happy anyway. How about some of you guys? Regards Alex

Some nice desktops here (love the one above me)! However im pretty shocked over that so little use the toolbar at the bottom for shortcuts. Mine is full with fast start icons and desktop clean. Will post mine when i get home from work. To each and own i guess. :) Will post mine when i get home from work. BTW Urze... wtf man! That is a huge screen. :D Regards Alex

teamspeak noise is the one for that. We used it for a time but stopped. But it does the job. In the video though he added the sound afterwards in editing. I think he said that in a post. Regards Alex

Thanks Zorrin for that insight. That was interesting and great fun to read! :) Now i gotta learn what vortex ring and all other heli stuff is and how it works, and how to save my butt from it. :D Regards Alex

Going on a mission to a forest on a hill. Intel say there are rebel camps there... Forest is thick, its evening and its hard to see... Thermal optics go on... Hey, look! I think we got ourselves some rebels lurking down there - MG ready! -"**** em up!" :) ...and then we find 2 camps up there as well that we mess up with a couple of FFAR's... not to mention the fleeing truck that we put a hellfire up its tailpipe. Argh i want the sim damn it! Where is it? :D regards Alex

Check this out (KA50 in chechnya): http://www.aeronautics.ru/news/news001/news030.htm Didnt have time to read too much, but seems interesting when building a mission around the KA50. EDIT: Searching a PDF i had with tons of info about the KA50 and its roles etc... Search continues. Regards Alex

And it is also said that the english manual will come out before the western release if everything goes according to plan. For now there is a translated one. little bit of "yoda" language though it is.

Website: http://www.force-dynamics.com/ Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRdF0wOBi4w Wished i was there to try BS with the motion platform... EDIT: Read the FAQ on that site. Interesting about G forces and motion: http://www.force-dynamics.com/301/faq301.php Regards Alex

Just a question about the collimator HUD. Why is that needed to be modeled in BS? I thaught that the collimator is a device that makes it possible to look at objects far and near and still the HUD info is clear, no need to refocus. So with that in mind, why is it needed to have that modeled in a sim where we look at a flat screen and thus the HUD wont get blurry no matter how far or near we are looking? I need to point out that i might be a complete idiot here lol, and perhaps i got that device completelly wrong. So im just asking about it, not saying anything. Sounds bloody awesome with all those things being modeled in BS! :) Regards Alex

AAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!   That made my day mate, thanks! EDIT: Nice that you guys got it all working! :)

Nice Falconsix! Will test it when i have BS. :) I made the engine/prop sound for ArmA once and i used this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLba1ZdyYOg I know camera mics distort sounds so its probably not 100% but i think that really hardcore choppy prop sound in the beginning is awesome. Makes me really hear them in ArmA before others becuase stock ones are too "mushy", not distinct enough. I also added turbine sound from another source and tweaked it to sound like on the video. Something to notice though, from in front you hear the prop only and when it passes you hear prop and turbines. Dont know if its the video only or if thats in real life too. Would be nice to have a soundengine that can do that if thats the case. Also in/out sound. Inside: more turbine less prop, outside more prop less turbine sound. EDIT: Forgot. Heres the almost finished result (i toned down the turbine sound in the final mod, but you get the idea: Regards Alex

I think many or most LB2 people knows about BS. I meant people who for some reason dont know about BS yet (new simmers) hopefully buy it if they downloaded and tested it. :) At least this is what i think, and hope.

Armed Assault 2 will have a JSF. Not a flight sim ofcourse, but more than Hawx game will have em. ;) second video (scroll down) shows take off: http://www.armaholic.com/index.php?m=single&id=3790

I also think that many "sim clueless persons" that download BS will think its crap. Not crysis graphics enough for game mode and way way way too hard and complex a la naturale. Uninstall follows some days after. They on the other hand that for some weird reason dont know about BS but really want this level of realism, will see it, test it - buy it. Pure speculations on my part. Regards Alex

What about complete sound mods like in LO? Will that be possible? Probably not needed, but just wondering about that possibility. Triggered sound files is very nice though. Super for missions to give more immersion. For example hearing another package scream over the "radio" that they are taking fire and are going down... Great stuff! :) Cant wait to start making missions.

It would be 5 or more times. Many more counting formats and hardware upgrades. The installations would ended a couple of times over. Since i have a 80GB HD and the amount of things i create on it, it fills and gets degraded pretty fast. I will buy a new computer because of BS and ArmA2 with a bigger HD so hopefully this wont be needed so much in the future. But im going to upgrade piece by piece when BS is installed so im worried the installations will run out and i will have to beg for more that maybe takes time. We dont know yet whats being decided on CP though, but thats my story and my predicted future. ;) Regards Alex

So this fixes how the "sat" image of the north west region looks in the ME? Its "broken" in the screen post #4, and with your unofficial patch it makes it look good? Regards Alex
-
Armed Assault (BIS) use some degrading code in ArmA that breaks down the code as time goes by if pirated. I read many comments about that and that it works. You also get an ID when the game is installed wich when going online, can only be 1 of at the same time on the server. Dont know how they did it all, and i dont know how pirated it is (in fully working state over time), but it feels like its very smart things that has no hassle like needing internet connections, accounts or limited installations. Regards Alex

:D classic! Love ME's too for the same reasons. Love to create and sometimes your a bit too tired to operate the stick. Kick back and plan/place... mmmmm ME. Regards Alex

Shaggy: Im doing the same. Im in every store i know and talk to them about BS. Many are clueless about the sim gems: "oh you mean that upcoming PS3 game?" -errh no... :D Well im doing my best to educate them.
